I love how both LTT and GN started in a home using the kitchen, expanded into an entire dedicated office, and then created a kitchen set to shoot videos again
During COVID, I had to put a LOT of extra hours in as a key worker. I decided that those extra hours would fund a new PC build (my first in eight years). I visited GN for each and every part, because I know you call it how you see it, and wouldn't recommend trash. This fundementally changed the components I chose, but the build overall has been fantastic. Every tech channel has it's place, but GN is where I come for the truth in all it's harsh, gritty reality...and my wallet thanks you for it. Thanks for looking out for the little guy!
changeng my mainboard because of tech jesus and others was going for an msi board until I saw what it nearly did to a ryzen 9 3900x then switched to a gigabyte elite x570 as a choice but then decided to go for the master board as it had some nice things like a post code and finer voltage controls
From the outside looking in it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to spend $44K just to test fans but when you think of everything GN stands for (and let's be honest PC guys do like our fans) then it makes absolutely perfect sense. I think Steve's dad would be proud 🙏
Considering How Hard GN went at MSI for Shady Practices & NZXT for Disregard for Customer Safety, plus now digging into the Exploding PSU Scandal, Everyone else better pull their heads out of their arse & do the right thing, because if they don't it's gonna be brutal 🥰
If you want a quiet fan, Digi-Key has a great parametric sorting feature. I use Qualtek FAD1-08025CBAW11-A for generic 12V 2-wire non-PWM fans. Quieter than the 80mm Noctua fans I have in my parts bin, although not quite as beige. It's also about $9.
Yeah, I thought the same, Steve should get in touch with Noctua - as they will praise him for each fan review, while the rest of the competition will be thrashed. NOCTUA should sponsor the machine really -)

Steve the brand credibility y'all have established with GN is incredible. As a quick anecdote, I recently took my first trip down to my nearest Microcenter (Marietta, GA which is ~4 hours away) to grab a 5950x. While there I thought I might grab an air cooler for an 8700k I had been using and when the sales rep helping me realized they didn't have any Noctua coolers in store he suggested maybe a Corsair A500. I mentioned GN by name and said y'all had not been friendly about it and not only did he immediately recognize the name and say he'd probably stop recommending that cooler but he shared that he also steers customers away from the Enermax Liqtech products specifically because of your work. I hope the move pans out without too much unforeseen difficulty and can't wait to see some of the new fan testing. Thanks for all the hard work you and the team do.

($259 on sale, August 2020!) and he mentioned the GN review. We also talked about video cards, and, well.. that all didn't happen like we thought it would! Remember when Steve bought that graphics card a few years ago and made like 10 videos on it to make sure they made some sort of return on it? Glad things are better now.
That happened a lot. I'm thinking that might have been a GTX 980 Ti or maybe a Titan-class card. It was a lot harder to buy stuff for review back then. We'd take a lot of losses just to learn how to review things well and produce coverage. Cost of doing business!
GN is consistently one of my favorite channels on RUclips, and basically one of the only outlets I trust to fully vet products. The thoroughness and precision is why you guys get my money (on Patreon and the GN Store), the entertainment is why you get my views, and the consumer-focused philosophy is why you've got my trust. Only Steve would follow the phrase "I'm gonna drop the modesty here" with "It WILL be the most detailed fan data you will possibly find..." Hard-earned and well-deserved! Congrats guys! GN is the first channel I hit when I'm looking for info on a product I plan on actually purchasing.

(key to storage is hang them in a closet with clippy hanger things to hold them, stays clean and flat)
With mouse pads you just have to think outside the box. You can use them as more than just mouse pads. They make good isolators too. I use the thick rubber and cloth ones under bench grinders. Then it's almost like they're bolted down.
@@1pcfred also use them under small aquariums, under my desktop and battery backup, i cut up an old one and put them under some bookshelf speakers too XD
@@PatrikKron I've had a lot of computers over a long time and folks have given me mouse pads over the years too. Sometimes I've even bought them. For some design they had or maybe feature? And mouse pads don't really wear out. I guess they can. But some I've had for decades now.

Perhaps a 3 to 10 minute video focused on the month ahead, or are you thinking one of these longer format videos? Much of what they are planning is going to increase the workload, and it may be helpful to push a, “3 minute month ahead and 3 minute month in review.” This would incite a heavy editing workload, need a dedicated script, and it would be difficult to avoid watering down the actual review analysis. Either way, super cool work @gamersnexus.

I think the contractors working for Steve are already taking him for every dollar he has. He should have hired a consultant that knows how things work. Because what I'm seeing ain't it. I did a lot of commercial renovation. Steve even thinking any of those walls in that place could be load bearing shows his level of knowledge.

I personally like the start and end section of product reviews that are more opinion based bit more entertain then just charts/graphs but get a real world perspective on the product and build quality etc.
Too much silence is awful lol.. Like torture! People don't realize what a sound booth is like. The outdoors are NEVER silent, and in a sound booth you get to know actual silence.
The point you make with hours of work for the product really resonates a lot with me. People have this mentality of "well, you get what you deserve buying a $900 laptop" when $900 is a ton of money for a lot of people to just drop on electronics. Wish people valued their (and other people's) time more than they did

Every time I watch a GN video I am reminded of the days in the 1980s working to get things as "PC compatible" as possible so a customer could use a certain piece of hardware or software. Remember when Steve bought that graphics card a few years ago and made like 10 videos on it to make sure they made some sort of return on it? Glad things are better now.
That happened a lot. I'm thinking that might have been a GTX 980 Ti or maybe a Titan-class card. It was a lot harder to buy stuff for review back then. We'd take a lot of losses just to learn how to review things well and produce coverage. Cost of doing business!

GN is consistently one of my favorite channels on RUclips, and basically one of the only outlets I trust to fully vet products. The thoroughness and precision is why you guys get my money (on Patreon and the GN Store), the entertainment is why you get my views, and the consumer-focused philosophy is why you've got my trust. and that is why I will watch every video, support you on pateron and buy stuff from the store, even though I have 8 mousepads....I'm ok with a few hundred more. (key to storage is hang them in a closet with clippy hanger things to hold them, stays clean and flat)
With mouse pads you just have to think outside the box. You can use them as more than just mouse pads. They make good isolators too. I use the thick rubber and cloth ones under bench grinders. Then it's almost like they're bolted down.
@@1pcfred also use them under small aquariums, under my desktop and battery backup, i cut up an old one and put them under some bookshelf speakers too XD

@@PatrikKron I've had a lot of computers over a long time and folks have given me mouse pads over the years too. Sometimes I've even bought them. For some design they had or maybe feature? And mouse pads don't really wear out. I guess they can. But some I've had for decades now.

Perhaps a 3 to 10 minute video focused on the month ahead, or are you thinking one of these longer format videos?
Much of what they are planning is going to increase the workload, and it may be helpful to push a, “3 minute month ahead and 3 minute month in review.”
This would incite a heavy editing workload, need a dedicated script, and it would be difficult to avoid watering down the actual review analysis.

I think the contractors working for Steve are already taking him for every dollar he has. He should have hired a consultant that knows how things work. Because what I'm seeing ain't it. I did a lot of commercial renovation. Steve even thinking any of those walls in that place could be load bearing shows his level of knowledge.

I personally like the start and end section of product reviews that are more opinion based bit more entertain then just charts/graphs but get a real world perspective on the product and build quality etc.

The point you make with hours of work for the product really resonates a lot with me. People have this mentality of "well, you get what you deserve buying a $900 laptop" when $900 is a ton of money for a lot of people to just drop on electronics. Wish people valued their (and other people's) time more than they did

Every time I watch a GN video I am reminded of the days in the 1980s working to get things as "PC compatible" as possible so a customer could use a certain piece of hardware or software. My tinkering days are long over, but watching GN videos keeps my fascination with PC tech alive. Thank you and looking forward to bigger and better things from GN.

My absolute favourite series of books, I have the original trilogy in paperback, they are looking a bit worn now but they are really well read! I will treat myself to some new copies in the future though.
