You fixed the sound and reuploaded? NICE!! Personally getting both on xbox one. Im getting PES because last year made me see how much fun PES is and since they improved problems i had with gameplay i cannot stay away. Getting FIFA to have modes and presentations and i havent bought it and played regularly in three years so ill appreciate changes a little more
On point with the champions league license. They gotta add a mode where we can go back and re play some finals like the 05 Liverpool vs Milan or 1999 Man united vs Munich. Or even a mode where we can re create some of the best champions league goals.
Used to love that on the old PS2 Champions League games!
They need to add more teams too. It has the Europa league license with hardly any of the proper teams.

I've never bought fifa & support Pes all the ways... the more license fifa buys the more weakness i feel they are. cause when you give up creating a competitive gameplay you find other ways like license to cheat costumer with your crap. thats fifa plays on the market..

Luis Diego Cabrera learn how to type FIFA bitch boy. PES won sports game of the year over FIFA 17, and has higher ratings than FIFA, PES 2017 got 9.5 on ign while FIFA 17 got 8.4. PES also got higher ratings on metacritic which provides all gaming reviews and users scores. Get rekt.

I'm a PES Diehard but if you're a kid that can only afford one game then get FIFA, it's the full package. Online in PES never improves and probably never will. The Team Play lobby mode in PES is completely utter crap compared to Pro Clubs. The only reason I buy PES is to enjoy the single player Master League which this year has not really improved but it's always more fun than FIFA's Career Mode at least for me.
The PES Team has a lot of work to do next year and I hope they improve and add more modes. The game modes have been the same since 2015 now and that's not acceptable. Why can't they add a scenario mode using their CL and Europa League licenses where they recreate historical moments in those competitions for example Liverpool coming back from 3-0 against Milan. They need go back to older Master League modes and see what made them so great. PES 2010-2013 had great features in ML in my opinion. At the moment, I'm staying away from playing PES online because I know I will get frustrated. I'd rather just play Gears of War 4 and Mafia 3 in that spare time.
agreed, they need to do better with presentation & commentary as well and as far as the CL and Europa is concerned they just need to do alot more to make that competition feel different from the other modes in the game! More CL teams and stadiums are needed too.Konami just needs to be more creative!
I bought PES first and realised I was only playing one mode.. Master league. Sold it on so then I bought FIFA because it's clearly the more complete game.

Brian Melendez totally agree with you! I play mostly offline bc it's so frustrating online. Bringing back scenario mode is a great idea!
About the presentation:
Indeed, in FIFA it's just better, there's not much more to say than you did..
About the graphics:
FIFA looks great when seen from far + it also looks amazing(!) on replays, but it's like you said; the closer you get, the worse it becomes, while in PES it's the other way around, like it should be I guess, because in real life it also happens that you see objects more detailed when closer.. + the dynamic weather, it's cool, but it would be even better to see it happen from little rain to heavy, and not like the camera fades out, and when the screen appears again, it's already raining..
About the game modes:
Hard for me to really discuss that point, since I don't play any other modes than Master League & Career Mode.. well, I enjoy the KONAMI's one more, but a fact that one mode is better, doesn't mean all the rest is..
About the gameplay:
Still it kinda annoys me that there are a few football rules missed in PES.. there's no handball, no drop-ball.. I prefer the gameplay from KONAMI, but it would be even more enjoyable if they added those...
About the licenses:
In FIFA we have the licenses for all the clubs, but.. in PES we have the licenses for the european competitions, and the teams' licenses can be easily fixed with patches & option files, and I haven't seen a patch for FIFA, which would add e.g. the Champions League..
What my point is, is that the licenses aren't that much of a problem in PES..
I still choose PES, but must admit FIFA has improved noticeably :)
To get Fifa to feel more enjoyable i customise all the teams tactics and make my sliders show a difference in higher rated players compared to lower quality one's. I totally agree with player ID being super important to PES' success, i also love how the ball moves and the curled goals look incredible in PES. All that being said both games have good/bad points but none are terrible... finally we have 2 great football games :)

had pes upto 6 on ps2. 2008 I turned to fifa as the xbox360 version was weird......ultra fast....although fifa felt the complete opposite....sloooow on 08. stuck with fifa over the years. went for fifa at launch last year and pes a few months later on offer. I played pes more. never touched fifa for 8 months. this year i'm sticking with pes although friends want me to get fifa.
the main issues I had with fifa online was pro clubs. If I wanted to play a drop in to improve and between games, the chance of a decent game was hard to find. occasionally I played some amazing games with some amazing people, but that was too rare. too many people would either, not pass, goalies run as strikers, people spend too much time arguing or shouting abuse at others than enjoy the game. I like to play as a team, work together, just enjoy it for what it could be. however, people ruin what could be a gr8 experience. just a shame.
the only other thing I prefer between both is I feel pes just has more freedom in passing. when I played fifa demo, I felt like I was not in complete control who I pass to. like if I was putting more time pressing pass to a further player, it would pass to someone near, like a few feet from me. with pes, I feel more in control.
I remember having some gr8 times on n64 international superstar soccer I think it was called.

I don't think EA would do more with the UEFA licenses, remember when they used to have it but would release it as a seperate version, which was literally an ordinary FIFA, with the Champions League mode added. Once PES took it, we could see how much better it was (real overlays, music, the boys with the cl logo, the final trophy with the engraver and all other additions like on tv). It was PES actually that was the first one to try these realistic broadcasting feel and they did a good job. However back then nobody cared about it and now they do.
Then again FIFA now also has the exclusive La Liga license and they still haven't done a thing with it. Remember PES 2013, when they were partner of La Liga and added all the stadiums of La Liga? This is also when PES was the first one to make a league complete. This is what FIFA does now with the Premier League license.
Just want to point out that FIFA doesn't do such a great job with licenses, PES has done it before, back then nobody cared but now everyone does and FIFA starts to take all the licenses from PES.
Same goes for faces, I see many people say that FIFA does a better job for smaller teams. They only do better for smaller teams in the Premier League because of their deal. If you look outside of the Premier League PES does a far better job, some non-scanned faces look even better than what FIFA has scannned, not even mentioning the faces they have scanned now for Barca which look far better than anything FIFA has scanned.
Last thing I want to add are kit details, what I mean is that PES tries to replicate the exact fonts and numbers on kits of licensed teams. They do it far better than FIFA because every team has their unique and real font. In FIFA only the big teams do have it and the others just share some generic ones between them. (Example FIFA has Liga license, but Celta still have a random font. Compare that with Celta from PES 2016, you can see they put far more detail in the font/numbers).
I truly believe the only thing holding it back are licenses, because without it they can't replicate true crowds and atmosphere of matches etc.
Also, don't forget EA Sports have a far bigger team, they have a group that has been working on Frostbite and The Journey for nearly two years already, where the other group was working on FIFA 16 and 17. The PES Productions team is nothing compared to what EA Sports have, so for them it's not so easy to build modes so quickly.
What an amazing review! I pick FIFA for licenses (sick of seeing "Man Red" instead of MU, and I don't care about some fan made stuff option files or whatever) but you really made me want to play PES for a moment. Which is great and I think you're right, none of these two are better, it just what you are looking for. For FIFA it's licenses, online, presentation, menus, music, all that stuff. And for PES is gameplay, offline, player faces and fun factor. Both games aren't perfect, both are unrealistic but they're really fun it seems. I mean I bought Fifa 17 about a week ago and so far it's amazing. I would surely enjoy both, but Fifa is were the licenses are, and PES needs to work on game modes like you said in the review because they haven't added anything new since a long time!
See I was very critical of PES when everyone else was praising it so much at launch. I made a review as well and people disagreed but now everyone's saying it. PES doesn't offer enough outside of gameplay. The modes lack depth. Master league has no player stories, players don't care about game time, there's hardly any injuries and it just makes the mode repetitive without it.
what do u think of this year's legendary mode and the superstar diffulty level TTB?my fav when it comes to difficulty s fifa 12-and I think pes has made superstar a tad bit more difficult and cool this year and I can't say the. same thing about fifa 17-btw I loved your review😄
I buy both every year and I have both this year and I think they're both equally good gameplaywise, but I strictly play online and PES in the US on xbox one is horrible. So for me it's FIFA this year. I'll probably play PES champions league during the winter break.
Did any of you guys do the PES 2017 survey? I really hope Konami listens to the feedback and addresses the issues we have with the game. In my opinion, this game will die if Konami keep using the same old excuse about only focusing on game play to hide the fact that they completely ignore everything else in this game. While the game play is good and I personally think it's better than FIFA 17, FIFA's not that far behind game play wise and completely wipes the floor with PES in every other category.
I love so much about the way PES plays and feels, but Konami never cease to amaze me with their ability to drop the ball on things that are vital to their success. The option files, for instance, would seem to be such an awesome addition this year...EXCEPT for the fact that the game crashes when you try to import more than 10 teams at a time. I appreciate the efforts of the file makers out there, PES Universe included, but it gets exhausting having to continuously go through an hour long process. I've tried just overwriting teams with OF updates, but then you end up having to delete images, etc., because God forbid we be able to use the Hard Drive from our console to store more of them.
It also sucks that all the edit data can't be imported at once. I've already had to edit the competitions on multiple occasions while the quirks of the OF process are still being worked out. And don't get me started on the player faces disappearing when you edit them in any way....why Konami?
I know this may sound petty, especially considering the improvements made from last year, but these are efforts and frustrations that I just don't have with FIFA.
FIFA wins off the pitch with wonderful presentation but on the pitch it looses the most important battle, You can beat Real Madrid with Gamba Osaka not even playing defensive, just playing towards how the script wants you to, the gameplay is diabolical and shit to be, i'm sorry but i can see people will be trading in FIFA on mass when people will inevitably get bored of it. The gameplay is so poor this year EA are going to have issues, the hype is still running strong for now but it wont be in the next few months.
PES is the opposite, off the pitch and online, its just a farce! Its unfinished, some things are plain broken and the game modes are the same and its disappointing, then again its got the most important thing SO right this year, its a classic football game already just for how good the gameplay is.
In all i understand and this is a great video from TTB, only difference is i can't stand FIFA gameplay, i know the game too well.

none is better than the other it all about personal preference play what you like and enjoy no one can tell you what you like you have to decide that I am and always will be a pes fan I enjoy pes there will never be a perfect sports game sim be happy we have what we have and enjoy it I hope you guys enjoy which ever one you play

To be honest we're lucky that both games are good. I think PES is more fun and enjoy playing it more but FIFA is more polished and has better attention to details. I feel that you can you can have more diverse build up play with FIFA and midfield play isn't overlooked. I've only played the demos of both this year so far, to be honest I'm still playing last years game for both and spend some time playing the PS2 versions of PES. To be honest all this talk of options files being easy to put into the game is a bit misleading, it took up quite a chuck of my time that is really to biggest thing that's holding me back. It took me 2 weeks of most of my spare time to edit PES 16. I wish it would just be an automatic process where you click a button and everything sorts itself out automatically.

Black Russian I got it today for my PS4 and started the option files. I bought PES 16 for both the PS3 & PS4 because I gave my PS4 to my nephew in the summer, I thought it would be easier to put the option file on the PS3 but none of them worked. That was really gutting. I have to say that this year it's been easier, I have a PS4 again but no one in the tutorial has mentioned anything about image limits, so I have files for international teams I want to add that I can't plus an incomplete Liga NOS. There is always something that goes wrong and I face the option of deleting everything and starting again or having to painstakingly sort through images that are on there and delete third kits of the lower leagues. I may have to edit kits of Liga Nos manually so I free up space that way.

Could it be possible for Konami to create a trophy editor where the player could choose different characteristics of different trophies and then the PES community could wrap a skin over it like the unofficial kits? Also there is no reason for not having more stadiums, it is kind of embarrassing.
PES - Gameplay (Even though the AI in BAL has no brain... I blame this on the mode being untouched by the developers geez)

PES game play is wayyyy Better, in FIFA you just need a high strength player and keep blocking the defender and score cause FIFA def always try to shoulder charge the player. In PES the Defenders try to win the ball, depends on the situation either by shoulder charge or putting their feet in the ball. best thing in PES is the playing styles. also the Keepers are superb. in FIFA you have to press button to rush a keeper in PES if you have offensive keeper with good goalkeeping ability(it's the positioning I guess in PES) he will clear the ball automatically. for licenses I just need a PTE patch. but yeah they need to improve the game modes
Maybe konami and EA should make 1 game together and see if they can make 1 perfect footy game just like capcom did with Namco. Take the best from two games in 1.
For Example you do 1 match and you can choose to play as PES style animation or FIFA and let the bal do the rest.
He's saying the they improved goalkeepers in PES and all a saw in this video is a potato-goalkeeping all over PES moments...big improvement, makes you think how shitty thay have been last year...

In fifa the players shirt can get dirty as well and you can see when it's snowing or cold they breathe out the fog as you said so pretty much FIFA is the better game but the only license we don't have is the UEFA champions league

the colours look more bright and vibrant and pes looks pale and pes has only some amazing player faces and the others look ok but fifa has mostly great faces and few amazing and others are good

It's all about fun and gameplay. PES. If they had panda bears running as players in PES id still prefer it just because the gameplay is so much more fun than FIFA. FIFA is still great, but not in the gameplay department.

PES doesn't have licenses, and people don't like that. WELL... they should use it to their advantage. They should not try to be a "professional football" game, they should be a Football game with professional teams and players in it.
The first thing the user should do when they pop in the disk for the first time is "Create Your Team Kit"
Second, "Create you Legend", this is the player that they can use as their avatar, in BAL, etc.
Third, "Choose Your Captain", from here they can choose one real life footballer to captain their squad (Ronaldo, Messi, Ibra...)
From here they start a campaign that increases in difficulty, and team rating, where they play to win one player of their choice from the opposing team.
If they have licenses for some professional teams, then Users can face off against those teams also.
They can then use this team, and add their friends as Legends (for co-op), to play against other user's teams online.
They can also add a Street game mode. 5 a side (co-op).
They need to stop trying to replicate real life, and they just need to become a football game with real life teams and players in it.
Unfortunately every year pes comes out with new problems. Last year it was the nonstop bayern munich long ball / thru ball spamming, OP and broken. This year its the goddamn cross spamming with real madrid. Cross the ball to penaldo and he fucking scores like its nothing.
If they could only fix the crosses this year, gameplay would be near perfect. I'm gonna download the fifa demo because of that, I am sick of the cross spammers

you can't be wrong getting any of them, if you like to play online then fifa is for you, if you are a offline player or multiplayer, pes is the way to go, but either way you are getting a good game
as a BAL/Career player, i must say that PES is way better on that, in pes you feel how different every team is, while in fifa you can master the game in 5-6 games and then make 6 goals per match since the defense plays always the same

The game modes don't mean shit and 'the presentation' does not mean shit. It does not matter how many 'fancy' game modes you have if the gameplay gets boring after few dozen matches like it does with FIFA every fucking year. It does not matter if you have fancy Premier League presentation at the start of every match when basically everyone just skips those after seeing them a few times right after buying that game. The things that really matter in football/soccer games are the GAMEPLAY and the FUN FACTOR of playing and PES is better with those than FIFA...So be it 'a 3-3 tie with points' then but those 3 points FIFA just got don't really matter...

In career mode u can choose the money u want to buy a player, in master league u can't even contact the player and make a deal, master league is so boring i made ac milan get treble first season with pass support off, but fifa is different transfers are realistic
PES is definitely the best in 2017, FIFA is a mess right now, poor passing, poor shooting, defending is shit as well, players feel slow and unresponsive, and there's serious input lag.
just bought PES on sale from the PS Store solely for offline. I already have fifa for online but the career mode in fifa is boring af. As the uploader says there is no player i.d or team i.d. Every team feels the same and makes the career go stale really fast.

I'm hardcore on gameplay so it's PES for me. 2k likes to play things safe so no they would never put out a soccer game (yea I'm in the states) the way EA corners the license market. I don't like EA arcade style games anyway and I refuse to support their dirty business tactics.

i ve played both the games and i feel that once i started playing pes 2017 there no looking back at fifa 17, i do care about the licenses and the modes but i enjoy the gameplay of pes more.. and also one important thing i would like to mention is that there are very less footballs compared to fifa which i miss the most in pes...

+Mikatimodo Bushkov He's right though, FIFA is scripted as fuck, there's input lag, players feel slow and unresponsive, defending is piss poor, the new corner and penalty system is awful, passing is absolutely garbage, I could go on. I didn't like FIFA 16 at first, but I got used to it. FIFA 17 is just horrible, and it's a complete fucking mess.

Great vid. very honest and unbiased views of both games. I've played both. I play my mate who has Fifa and I have PES. I agree with most of the things you said and PES best gameplay Fifa best presentation and audio. PES audio is exactly same as last year which really pissed me off and online is a joke. In saying that myself and my mate who prefers fifa joke that they should release 2 versions of these games. A cut price one for online play because there only seems to be the same 10 teams used online... I don't play online mostly because there only so many times i can play Barca, Real, Chelsea etc...without getting bored. So for me online is an occsional thing but PES takes ages and the match making is shit. I pick 2 star or 3 star teams but always get Real , Barca PSG then get humped. It's no fun. They should allow you to have a block teams list so that you can block teams your pissed off playing 99 time sout of 100.

The only problem I have with pes is Ronaldo! I mean have you seen his face? Where's the player id now plays nothing like the real Ronaldo while near and Messi play just the way they do in real life!
DT7Productions, player ID refers to the way Ronaldo moves in the pitch, not his face or appearance. Appearance wise FIFA is better, but those player movement wise PES is better.
Ave been saying that for ages about 2K doing a football game would blow these two out the water would see all players with Tatts and stadiums creator etc

pes 18 has to add new clubs, not remove clubs, pes2017 was 2 steps forward 3 steps back in licenses, and also presentation like camera needs upgrade

PES 2017 gameplay is light years ahead of any FIFA IMHO. FIFA gameplay has its moments but overall is not very good. One example is the FIFA ball feels like a rubber ball. It bounces way too much and ruins the experience for me. Also FIFA tactics never seem to work properly whereas PES tactics feels like I can turn a loss into a win with tactical adjustments. I always feel like if FIFA doesn't want you to win there's not much You can do tactically to snatch victory from defeat. IMO FIFA 16 had better gameplay than this year. My comments should be taken with a pinch of salt though as I'm far from an above average player.
fifa 08 was good. The gameplay was good and interesting. But fifa 17 doesn't have anything fancy like pes 17 has (like flying volleys and overhead kicks). Pes 17's gameplay is way better.
