      +Thomas Francis - he should pay them on work rate.
      $10 for each effective punch.
      Let 3 serious fans who can pass a test be selected before the match and they can decide the work rate bonus.
      Boom.
      The fighters have some motivation to punch each other.

    PPV draws is not what this is about, its how the fights turned out. Hector lombard didnt deliver like he should, cheick kongo clinched for 3 rounds and the main event was kinda dull. A card dont need big names to produce exciting fights.

    . Being defensive and using intelligent counter striking is nothing new. Its funny people like anderson silva, machida and jones use it and get KO's in the heavy weight classes but when lighter people like condit, gsp and edgar use it without getting a KO everyone hates on them.

    It isn't Dana's fault, he gives KO/Submission of the Night bonuses which promotes finishing. Also Ian McCall exposed how much fighters got paid and it's more than people think. The problem is with the scoring system and fighters/trainers who exploit the scoring system to win fights without risking anything.

    Greg Jackson is the best camp in MMA. Highest percentage of wins most coming from KO and submissions. And as for MIke he gives him credit on their site. But he is not the main MMA coach, there are 4 total at Jacksons gym. Jackson started it and Mike joined forces with him as the first coach other then Greg. His name is on a lot of their stuff, but its primarily Jacksons gym. But Jacksons gym produces some of the best fighters (Sanchez, Jones, GSP, Etc...)

  • @verefiedxL
    @verefiedxL 12 лет назад +1

    GSP is the only real fighter that trains under Greg Jackson. GSP has the skills and accuracy and power and counter striking ability AND wrestling to prove it. But thats cuz of Firas and Phil Nurse and all the respectable coaches in MMA that train him besides winkledick and jackson. That's why GSP will be cornered by Firas and his coaches in Canada while he destroys the Natural Born Runner.

    It was his shot at the title. Might of been to much for him. I mean his dreams were right there. Standing and throwing hands and putting it all on the line and engaging may of been to much of a gamble to him. Guida was close to a title and that may of explained why he acted how he did. I mean this sport is to the point where one lose knocks you far down in the charts. 5 years ago you could lose and still be in the top 5. Its most likely all a mental thing.

    I was more disturbed by the poor stoppage by Rosenthal when what he thought was a low-blow was clearly a kick to the body. To be that confused you're either not paying attention or you're easily swayed by the reaction of the fighters. He ruined Riddle's chance to make a big stoppage in the first round. Embarrassing isn't the word. More like mortifyingly unprofessional.

    Indeed, the true warrior spirit would definitively show in 10-15 min rounds who really wants it, but as you said, less fights per year and possibility for boring fights if the fighters gas out. But the old UFC had no time limit and was fun as hell to watch.
    But it goes either way, depends on what the fans wanna see, some like brutal wars, trading punches, cuts, blood and someone like skill and athleticism like Jon Jones fight style.

    Guida has been at Jacksons for a long time now. It could of been Guida just having a really bad night. He may not of been feeling 100% or just really really wanted a win and so he was careful. And Condit, well your stupid to want to stand and trade shots with Diaz. Diaz is not very bright and did not try to push the fight, while Condit was picking him apart and working more defense and trying to bait him in. But he never took the bait and Condit just won from simply hitting him way more.

    Well to be fair, not all of the fight like that, in fact most of them don't. Lets look at the champs.
    Cruz: rarely finishes, but is active and mixes it up well the whole fight,
    Aldo: Just KO'd Mendes his last fight and overall a finisher
    Benson: Always comes to fight, finishes fights
    GSP: a Snoozefest, lol.
    Anderson: Almost always finishes
    Jones: Finished 4 of his last 5 opponents
    JDS: Finishes most fights
    Out of all of the champs GSP is really the only boring one.

    Lombard's performance was very disappointing but he scored two takedowns in two rounds plus he controlled the octagon and was the aggressor. Boetsch never connected well the whole fight and his leg kicks were a joke. If you look at it that way you have to give it to Lombard.

  • @oilerzfan17
    @oilerzfan17 12 лет назад

    I take nothing away from hector lombard as a fighter, he is an excellent judoka with one-punch KO power, but there is no way a 5'9" fighter can consistently compete in the middleweight division. He does not posess the range to challenge the likes of anderson silva. He must drop at least a weight class to compete in the UFC. Octagon jitters isn't much of an excuse for a personal project of Dana White going awry. I do not believe Lombard could ever compete in the UFC at 185 period.

    guida had almost no chance so get pissed at joe silva and the completely ridiculous way the ufc operates at this point. so what guida was doing was trying to frustrate a superior fighter, thats it. guida has always had amazing fights, but what he was doing was actual footwork. i grew up boxing and the mma game hasnt evolved any boxing footwork. its that simple. they all will soon obviously. if gray would have had equal time spent on the same shit, he would have easily cut him off.
