Which of these projects are the most interesting? And do you know other megaprojects under construction this year?😎👇
There are many mega projects in Saudi Arabia, such as:
1. Qiddiya project, the largest entertainment city in the world
2. Diriyah project, the largest cultural city in the world
3. A journey through time project to be the largest living museum in the world
4. King Abdullah Financial City project to make Riyadh the most important financial city in the Middle East
5. Riyadh Metro Project
6. Central Jeddah project and the development of slums
6. King Salman Project for Marine Industries
7. Project Spark
etc
I think the Line and the Merdeka Tower are insane, would love to see the view from it once it opens
New manila international airport is now under construction is expected to open in 2026 this airport is huge
You don't include any projects from India
ITER is obviously the most interesting it can solve all our problems
I am building a 3m by 5m shed in my back yard this year and consider it a mega project
Your shed is also more reasonable than the idiotic ‘The Line’ project in Saudi Arabia.
Good luck!
😂😂😂😂
These projects are amazing. Imagine how much more we could accomplish if we could stop fighting each other.
People complain about globalism as if it wouldn’t push humanity forward in leaps and bounds, obviously there are problems with it but so far it seems much better than pointless wars
People love to fight, parents proudly display a picture of their dead son in their home. He was a hero. If you don’t go to war, your a coward. I just can’t grasp the concept.
Imagine how much we could accomplish if we stopped destroying everything.

@@bigboymatthew7471 well, to me, living in a city period is stupid. All you see is buildings, concrete and an occasional tree unless you go to the city park. Can't be any worse that living in a desert or living in a modern city.

Jakarta is sinking because of overuse of ground water, a problem the previous governor seems yet to solve. But then he asked the President to finance the renovation of the city with more fund needed than to build a brand new capital city .. So the President instructed to build a new capital city instead: Nusantara. And the new governor of Jakarta is now taking care of the water source (PAM) problem.

Saudi Arabia didn’t shock anyone by excavating the site of Neom because it means nothing. They have only found a team of architects for the project. Hey I have an idea since China has so much gosh darn money let them build the train that goes from here to Venus and back and to Africa what did they tell Africa will build you a transitions for a million dollars and it only cost you $100 in taxes. Unfortunately too many skyscrapers featured here. In some important historical cities like Rome construction height is limited to maintain the character of the city. My view is that greening projects are probably more important environmentally and for food production.
The nice thing about high density city builds is more dense living is much more sustainable than American suburbs. Granted you do have to have walkability and public transit to make it more sustainable. American suburbs bankrupt their towns and cities and take a lot more resources to build equivalence housing to one skyscraper.
@@lilimccoy6194 High density creates a lot of social issues, crime rates usually go up, stress goes up. Walkability means nothing - look at every super dense city in the world - they still end up sprawled out and have long train commutes. You aren't getting away from that. The other side of things especially in North america is people will scream and yell for Density but when it comes time for them to have a family these same people all end up moving to the suburbs for bigger places and thus driving the costs up and the people who have lived there for a long time get priced out and can barely handle their new property taxes.
I agree the skyscraper city model is flawed. It does not make it notably cheaper to either live or work there. It's mostly status symbols for corporations, usually making business _and_ living more expensive.
@@corail53 That isn't correct. Building too large social housing areas without proper planning does indeed create a risk for more crime. That is the fallacy you base your assumption on. The US model is generally to build low density housing around skyscraper city centres. Despite of this, the US severe crime rate is three times higher than the European average.
If Europeans were left alone, maybe, but every day there're fleets of boats coming to shore, Europe's land mass is negligible compared to Asia, Africa, or the Americas. It's unfortunate for Europe to lose its architectural uniqueness, but they need these vertical buildings so they can stack all these foreign things.

The Philippines is currently doing a skyway through Manila which will connect Luzon's northern provinces to the south. The Philippine National Railway System will also undergo modernization. This will include a north-to-south commuter railway system, several Metro Railway Transits, and the first ever subway in the country -- The Metro Manila Subway, a 36-kilometer long underground mass transit traversing six Metro Manila cities. Lastly the Philippines is also constructing the New Manila International Airport.

Should include the UK HS2 rail project. About 100 billion £/$ to link three of England's largest cities. Construction delays, spiralling cost estimates and environmental concerns make this an ideal project for your channel
I wanted to be a RUclipsr and now I need your subscription. I posted short and good videos
The whole problem with HS2 is that you are "Dammed If You Do & Dammed If You Don't" The trouble is that the West Coast Mainline is at maximum capacity
So something had to be done to increase capacity.
Also, work on HS2 has now gone beyond the point of abandonment.
So the Government (regardless of its colour )has no option but to finish the project.
To be fair, it made sense to begin HS2 as Crossrail/The Elizabeth Line was approaching completion. As the infrastructure development teams were already assembled
@@nicholaskelly1958
Not gonna lie the British government should have just outsourced rather than trying to do such a project they they never did before.
I doubt they would buy TVG from France or German counterparts because of ‘British pride’ so at least they should have went to japan for some help, they are the pioneer of high speed trains after all.
Japan is currently building a 600km/h train for about 50 billion USD or less, quite the deal I’d say. They built their bullet train with about the same distance as HS2 would only 27 billion USD… oh and that runs about 100km faster than what the HS2 is planned to go.
So very true. The UK government would not go to the French etc etc. It would be a British built project or nothing!
This thinking isn't new. British railway companies, prior to 1948, rarely purchased locomotives and rolling stock from foreign builders.
Also, in the early years of British Railways in the 1950s & early 1960s when it would have made some sense to purchase American or German diesel locomotives. Due to both economic and political constraints and considerations, this wasn't done. The result was that there were several types of locomotives which were for various reasons not particularly good But at least they were British!
HS2 is not going to change anything in the way England works. The cost of the ticket is going to be unreasonable after such an expensive project and the time it saves travelling through HS2 rather than the current railway is not that great. So people would continue using the regular rail instead of spending on HS2. On top of it.. HS2 is being built now with hope that it would last for the next 100 years.. atleast they should have used the fastest trains of the day…it’s already slower than the new trains that other countries are building and is nowhere close to Hyperloop. So by the time they finish constructing it, it’s already outdated tech with not so great speeds.
Oh Wow Number 3 is in My Home County of Somerset, UK.... Seeing it Take Shape Over the Last Few Years is Amazing.
Good 👍 work ilke that

I like how we, America, continue to ignore the benefits of large scale passenger rail networks yet the rest of the world is working on being interconnected by rail.
the Problem is in america are living not enough people for a comercial success, compare canada+ usa with 19 million square kilometre and ca 370 million people, with europe =10million square kilometre and over 750million people. Small Example 4 States in the US are bigger as Germany, thats are Montana, Texas, California and Alaska but in Germany are still living 15million more people as in all 4 US states combined. Than how Towns are build living in a suburb means in the US a Car is a must have.

Java is not 3rd largest, but 5th largest of Indonesian islands, but the smallest among the 5 big islands of Indonesia. The rank of these islands are as follows Papua (Papua is the world's 2nd largest island after Greenland, Papua is shared politically between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea). Borneo (3rd largest island in the worlds. Politically shared among Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei). Sumatra (6th largest island in the world). Sulawesi (11th largest island in the world). But weak countries will have problems
Our country Pakistan is already in debt and will be super more by its completion. Weak economies will never have hold on these projects more than 10%
@@junaidjaved5109 i heard that china lost 100 billion dollars in pakistan due to corruption and political instability also chinese always uses there companies and workers on their cpec project
Ah yes the project in which China gets to gain political influence over the countries it forces into debt payments that can't be paid back. That is how they gain control of infrastructure, they will tell the countries they are going through - they will build for this price and that - jack the prices up and trap the country into a debt it can't pay and they say we will forgive a part of this debt for complete control over (insert infrastructure of choosing here). They are doing this all over Africa right now and have taken over a ton of ports and supply chain infastructure. This project is not a good thing and it only benefits China.

Manila is doing a new airport to the north of Manila that may host a hair over 100 million people like the other airports mentioned in here? I think they are building the airport above the sea so it is an ambitious project. Their current airport was built by the U.S. government I think meaning it is pretty old (though it does not seem too old to someone passing through).
Manila also is building or adding to their railway system around their city -- you can get to most of Manila using the LRT or MRT along with walking (or using Jeepneys).
The only time I struggled to get somewhere was going to the American memorial and the Venice Canal Mall which I ALMOST gave up on doing but persisted in doing. (There were a few people who told me Jeepneys did not go from the Greenbelt Mall to the American memorial plus it was raining heavy -- I had to wait a bit for a Jeepney to finally come and the driver told me I would have to change Jeepneys at a transit point. Fortunately the rain stopped by the time I saw how the memorial is a very profound, humbling experience.
I am not too crazy about the Jeepneys, probably because I cannot hear, I am not used to them and I had to rely on my phone to get by with but they seem extremely essential to people in Manila -- the government there wants them replaced which makes for big questionmarks. The Jeepneys in themselves are very cool.
Wow...!!!
i think the ITER reactor is the most important construction this whole decade
In history. The US, UK and China are doing the groundwork on individual but different parts to see where they can make breakthroughs. These applications will then be tested in ITER on a large scale. If they work, it opens the way to small fission reactors in every town and city providing safe, cheap energy. The 40 nations bankrolling this for the benefit of humanity should be thanked.

@@Cdr_Mansfield_Cumming Sure. My friends has part of creation of main coil for ITER
@@Cdr_Mansfield_Cumming it's really interesting...I have toured NIF at Livermore national labs (where the research is being done in California). Fun fact they used NIF in one of the new Star Trek movies as their engineering.
