Okay okay all 3 people who requested I upload this, here it is. I already had the Pokemon song queued up for upload but I randomly decided to post the promo on Twitter and it got over 500 likes and... it was crazy. So here it is! Pretty proud of this, I made it in like 4 hours and didn't use VRC6 for once. I think MMC5 was good because it kept me in that 2A03 feel but gave me a few more channels to work with. So yeah
Also this game is fantastic and I love it a lot. not as good as earthbound tho

I mean it was already authentic 8 bit considering it used the original game boy sound chip exclusively (technically the gba soundchip also outputs 8 bit sample based audio which is why it sounds so crusty but that doesn't count)
The MMC5 has it's advantages. By far the best enhancement chip for Famicom. The VRC7 it's close… but definitely the MMC5 allows you to do crazier things.
I clicked expecting it would sound basically the same as in-game, because it sounds like an NES there too, but no, it's amazing. Completely agreed with that person who said the solo sounded haunting and groovy. I realize this was uploaded a year ago but still. Great job.

Having 3 channels forming the chords for the main lead makes it sound so much more complete than the original! I also really like that additional part that you added.
