Fun fact : in France, the change of flag was almost totally no mediatized, so a lot of French didn't even remark that the blue on our flag changed.
(although most of us noticed but just didn't care. The flag is almost the same, it's just a little darker shade of blue that's in use)

France didn’t really change their flag. I did a little digging, turns out both are legitimate government flags. The previous government was more pro EU, so the blue was changed to the EU blue. The party currently in charge tho is less supportive of the EU, so they changed it back to the royalist blue. Both are still in legal use tho

The number of stars were changed. Each star represents its own state.
So 1889-1960 it had 21 stars, 1960-1968 it had 22 stars, 1968-1992 it had 23 and finally 27 nowadays.

Each star represents a state of Brazil, the line "Ordem e Progresso" (Order and progress) represents the Equator Line. So the only star that is above the White Line represents the only state of Brazil that's in the northern hemisphere
