Wait a damn minute…. How have I never thought of being a camp counselor when the parent trap is my favorite movie????? The smile on my face at the start of this video???? Unmatched
This was my first summer at camp and as I already told you on Instagram once, it was all thanks to your videos. I have to say that it was the best experience I've ever had. As a non native English speaker I was full of doubts and coming all the way from Spain didn't helped, but at camp Lanakila in Vermont I found a huge family that overwhelmed me with their welcome and everyone's friendships. That's why before after camp was done I already knew I wanted to be back again, so here I am working on my embassy appointment once again! 🤙🏼 great video as always Ally
This will be my first summer at camp, heading off to French Woods as a general counselor for the youngest campers. Your videos have been such a huge help and are one of the reasons I applied for camp :)
Wow you're my 7th follower hired to work at French Woods this year!! That's so awesome :) There are some more in the comments on this vid if you'd like to connect. I'm so excited for you!! Did you go through CCUSA too?
Ally Sheehan Yes I went through CCUSA after watching your camp videos and some others on RUclips they seemed like the best ones and they have been great so helpful with everything.
I'm off to camp at the start of June and I'm so nervous. I've never travelled alone or been away from home for an extended period of time. These videos you make reassure me and make me feel more at ease. I began watching them this time last year when I was sure I was going to uni this year, Boy I was wrong. Your videos also help my parents who are wary of me travelling by myself. Thank you so much
Hi Edan. How you feel is COMPLETELY normal, it's a scary but fun adventure. The biggest surprise to me when I first went away to do camp was how surprisingly un-homesick I was. The three months I spent away flew by in a flash and I ended up extending my trip a little longer because it was that amazing. You are going to find new parts of yourself, new strengths, new independence and a whole new world of magic 💛✨
Ive applied through ccusa this summer and am just waiting on placement but your videos are what inspired me to apply! I cann’t begin to tell you how much you have inspired me and you just seem like such a kind and amazing person so keep doing what you’re doing because your videos honestly can be the highlight of my day 💜☺️💜
2019 was my first year at camp and I was so happy that I went! I had the best time at camp and after! I said yes to every opportunity and I've never been happier than when I was in the USA for camp! ❤️
Ally Sheehan An indescribable feeling really. Something you have to experience first hand! I went to Willow Springs which is a Girl Scout camp in Arizona ❤️
Ally Sheehan omg no way! That's so cool! I hope she has the best summer! It's our camp directors last year as a camp director so it's going to be a special one. I'm sad I'm going to miss it! ❤️
hey ally!! i’m being a camp counsellor in summer for camp wingate kirkland and i couldn’t be more excited! i literally applied because of how big of an advocate you are for it and after watching all your camp vids i thought omg i have to do a summer at camp! so yeah now i’m soooooo excited it’s unreal🤩🤩
Watching all your camp videos makes me so excited to go to Wah-Nee this year! It's so handy having a rough idea of how things are going to work before you arrive especially from someone who has been there the past couple of years
Going on to my 11th summer of camp and 3rd on staff (whew 😅)!! Truly the best and most chaotic times of my life! Hearing the camp experience from an international’s perspective is always so interesting to me since it’s something I grew up with. Thanks for fueling my camp sickness!!!!
@@AllySheehan I started at Camp Chinqueka in Connecticut for 2 years and have spent the last 8 years at Lake of the Woods and Greenwoods in Michigan!! Unpopular opinion, I think being on staff is way more fun!!
The question you answered about being able to join in with activities as a General Counsellor - I feel that so much as a Guide leader. In November, my unit went to a local splash park, and I was the youngest leader there (the other leaders were over 20 years older than me, so I was closer in age to the girls), so I'd gone on the water slides like the girls. And then last weekend, I was at an event where we had a drumming session with a lady from an external group and I sat and joined in with the drumming and it was really fun.
Love your videos. I spent 4 incredible summers at the best camp on earth ( I may be biased haha ) camp Agawak in the north woods of Wisconsin. My first summer was summer 2015. I had my campers for all of those years. It’s the best watching them grow up and becoming part of a family. Honestly the best four years of my life wish I could do it for a life time.
Okay I've heard about camp Agawak and it actually looks AMAZING. Is it all girls??? Ugh how beautiful is it having the same girls and getting to watch them grow! I had mine from age 15 and last year they were co-counselors with me, with one even in my bunk 💛
IM SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS AHHH love you ally! Soon I’m applying through CCUSA to be a camp counseller for 2021 in my gap year and I’m so excited! It’s your videos that truly inspired me to apply and I’m so thankful😭❤️
What a wonderful thing to wake up to! I'm going to camp for my second time this summer and thinking about it is honestly what gets me through my boring/hard days. This time last year I was binging every camp video I could find, especially yours (which I may have to redo now because it's just a good time). Agree with you on the visa process, I just applied yesterday and the day I get my visa will be such a weight off because the thought of someone saying I can't go back to camp is truly a nightmare. I love hearing about your camp because it sounds so different to mine and I think that's something important to remember for first timers - you will find the right fit for you, every camp is special but I hope they all make the campers and staff feel the way mine does xx
Thank you so much for this comment Rachel! I couldn't agree more about every camp being different and perfect for the individual, I'd love to hear a little about yours and what it's like! and oh my god yes the anxiety I've felt about the thought of not being allowed to go back, I've truly lost nights' sleep before!! Shows how much we love it
Ally Sheehan I think a major difference is that we have four sessions so counsellors are with a different group each time for two weeks, meaning you get to experience various age groups and combinations of campers throughout the summer. Also I’m a swim coach and cabin counsellor so even though I have my kids, I spend a lot of the day with different age groups, boys and girls - and being a pretty small camp, counsellors get to know almost all the campers from each session (hopefully by name, but definitely to see). Also the camp is part of a year-round program for 8-18yos which is special because they get support throughout the year, even though camp is what they look forward to most. One of the most special things to me is that everything at camp revolves around 12 attributes - like moral characteristics - and at the end of each session, every camper is awarded the attribute their counsellors felt they embodied over the two weeks (counsellors get one too after the initial training before camp starts). I think the amazing thing about camp is that everyone thinks theirs is the best, and that’s sort of true because for that person it’s so important, I can’t imagine working at another camp no matter how incredible it is because I don’t think it could live up to what I feel for mine (although this sometimes makes me worry that summer #2 can’t live up to #1 but knowing how much the campers still love it, even after 10 years, or more for the now-counsellors, says a lot for the power of camp love).
There is nothing I love more than a good ol' camp video from the C A M P Q U E E N! Nothing gives me more of a kick up the butt to just go for it than hearing about your experience! :)
I went to French Woods as a counselor in 2019 through CCUSA and it was the best thing I’ve ever done! I also uploaded a video of some of the theater I saw/ was part of!
Arhh girl! This video has me missing that camp life! I’m not returning to camp this year and man I already miss it! Two summers at Kamp Kohut in Maine changed my life for the better!
I travelled for two weeks before camp and 3 weeks after camp. I spent US$700 before camp started but I drove from LA - Maine over that time and went full out on activities too.
Did camp for the first time last summer (2019) and can honestly say it was the best summer of my life and it changed me for the better. I went to Camp Wingate *Kirkland on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. So torn about going back as I don't know what I'd do as none of my best pals are going back and it won't be the same without them :(((
Ah that's so amazing!!! Mass is super beautiful. I absoutely know how you feel, my best friends didn't go back my second summer either :( The 2nd year blues are real but I promise you do make more incredible friends (my best friend in the world I didn't get close to until my third summer) Camp is always magical, and you will always meet amazing people there
These videos always give me life 😍 about to go into summer number 4 ❤️💛 wishing everyone going into their first the best of luck. Its going to be a summer you’ll never forget x
hi loved your video! do u think you could do one where you explain literally everything about camp? Like, I’ve never been to an american camp before but I’m looking forward to work as a counselor in a few years. So it’d be very useful to know how to find the right camp, the right agency, how to apply, the different job positions (like counselor, co, camper and all that) thank you so much :)
Ally Sheehan I went to Camp Krislund in central PA! Was so tempted to go back, but it just doesn’t work with uni unfortunately 😭 Cool story though, most of the aussie girls on staff applied because of your videos! So I owe you a thank you for introducing me to some of my best friends!! haha 🥰 Are you heading back to camp this summer? Xx
I started my period for the first time at camp in the UK, and no one was really open with answering questions with me. The only female around at the time was quite high up and they went and found some night staff, and awkwardly told me she was there for questions, then they phoned my mum to tell her for me.
i caaaaannntt wait to be be old enough to do camp america!!! love watching your videos they make me so excited but also sad i cant do it till summer 2021 when im 18!! Honestly don't know how im gonna wait!! how old were you when you did your first camp? xxxxxxxx
Hey! Your videos were a big part of the reason I ended up applying for camp in the first place. I got placed at Camp Ohiyesa in Michigan last week and I’m super excited!
Thank you so much for these videos! I’m going to camp with Camp America for the first time this summer in Connecticut. 😊 These videos are so helpful. X
Hi Ally! I am super excited and have been watching your videos nonstop! I have been placed at a camp in Minnesota and I am eager to get started! I love your videos!
Hi Ally! I've been wanting to work at a summer camp for the longest time! honestly a dream of mine to go but my biggest fear is that I feel it will be hard being in a relationship and being a way for a long time with not a lot of time to talk to each other.... what are your thoughts on this???
I totally get you! I'm in a relationship and was planning on going this year, one of my best camp friends had a boyfriend back home whom she brought along her second summer. Distance can be hard but at camp you're pretty much doing something 24/7 so you barely have time to miss anyone. It would be harder for him but you'd be having a blast
It’ll be year three for me this summer!! All b/c of your videos!! Going to camp was legit the best decision I ever made!!! It really does become a second home :,,)
Hi Ally, your videos really convinced me and prepared me to go to camp. I went to Camp Nicolet in Wisconsin, it's a really small camp and I knew all campers and staff. I had a cabin with the 14/15 years old and I loved them so much, we could give our preference for age groups and at first I wanted 10 year old or something like that but I think 14/15 was perfect for me because I have no filter and it's soooo nice that my kids don't wake up crying or pee their pants through the night. Most councelors were ex campers and we had about 7 international staff, 3 ausies and 3 mexicans and then me. I was very nervous about being the only non native english speaker (I'm dutch) but it was totally fine. Honestly I want to go back again this year but probably a different camp. We (the staff) had some problems with the cam director (it was her first year) and none of my friends are coming back but I don't regret going it honestly was the best decision I've ever made
This made me so happy to read! I totally support trying out new camps. I've had 15-16 year olds, 16-17 year olds, and 11-13 year olds, all of which are so different. Did you travel anywhere before or after camp?
@@AllySheehan I went to Chicago with a few girls from camp and stayed there for a while and then I flew with one of my camp friends to Oregon to meet up with another friend and we drove to San Fransico together with a camp friend that lived there, I also went to New York but I wish I had more time to see more places, any places you'd recommend?
I’ve been considering doing a summer job at a camp because it’s in between college semesters and it sounds so fun! I don’t know how to go about it since I’m moving out soon (it’s my freshman year). But I’m excited and I may apply for next summer!
I started watching your camp videos a while ago and decided to apply for this summer. I got placed in Summer at Sandy Springs, in Maryland, as a videography counselor!! I am so excited, hope I have as a wonderful experience as yours. ♥️
love love love theses videos! i went to camp last summer (on crew: dishes, cleaning, bathrooms, etc) and loved it and am going back this year (as a counselor in training)! (A small camp in Corbett Oregon)
ah that's so awesome!!! the kitchen/cleaning staff at camp are some of my favourite people 😌 that's so cool that you get to experience being a counselor now too and oh mannn i'm jealous, oregon is the prettiest!
Watching this makes me sooo excited and I still have 4 months😩 this year will be my first summer at Raquette Lake and I am soo nervous but so excited!!!
Hey Phoebe! I didn't apply til Jan or Feb of the year I went, which is later than I'd recommend! The earlier you get it done, the better :) Thank you so much!! Camp is truly a life changing experience
I think Google finally realized I'm a camp person... I've been a Camp chef for over 19 years at multiple different summer camps. Id highly recommend coming and working at camp.
Ive been placed at all girls camp in Michigan called Camp Hayo-Went-Ha! :) Thanks for the videos ive been watching them for years and finally decided to go to camp!
How many years did you have when you did the first camp?? I will do 18 just before I leave and I don't know if I'm too young... a lot of people do it with 20/21
Hey, going on my first camp this year and I’m so excited. I did just wonder what’s everyone’s advice regarding photos like are you allowed your phone to take photos or is it worth taking a camera. Thanks ☺️
Hey! Every camp is different :) We don't use our phones during the day, only really for special occasions like tournaments, banquet, things like that x
You really inspired me to do a summer camp! This is my first time, and I got accepted for a girl scout camp in North Carolina, at camp Pisgah. I'm super excited! I leave in May, so not long now. Are you going to another camp this year? xxx
Hey!! I worked at 2 Girl Scout camps in NC (I’m from NC) Camp Graham and Camp Mary Atkinson! I have heard some great stuff about Pisgah, so I hope you enjoy!!! Summer camp is the best experience one can ask for !
I love your videos so much I’m so excited to apply to be a camp counsellor ❤️ can you request to go to a certain camp? and also if your really sick what normally happens like would someone else take your group or something like that? do you have a group of campers by yourself or does another counsellor take care of them with you xx
Thats so exciting!!! I have 2 videos that are perfect for you: Tips For First Time Camp Counselors: ruclips.net/video/xu0ytnkoBi0/видео.html How To Apply To Be A Camp Counselor: ruclips.net/video/Z50sUJRMAS8/видео.html
Hi ally/ anyone else who might know the answer to this. I was just wondering once you apply, do you get multiple offers? And do you like get to choose what camp you go to or are you given one and you go to that one? Thanks
hi! it honestly can depend :) some people get interviews and offers, i just got hired on the spot and received an email from my camp welcoming me and saying i'd been placed there.
I’m going to work at camp (been placed at Camp Walden in Ontario, Canada because I’m doing camp Canada rather than camp America) this summer and your vids have been really helpful so thanks ally
I'm sure you'll have the best time, general counsellor is so much fun as you get to try loads of activities (I was dance and fitness)! I really really wanted to go back this year, but sadly I have an internship which clashes which I can't say no to, but if I could I'd spend every summer at camp!! Let me know if you have any questions about Walden, I'd be happy to answer 😊🌲
Hey Ally, I don't know if you'll see this comment. I'm enjoying your videos! I've been interested in working on a camp for a few years now but haven't been able to go for various reasons (too late to apply one year, couldn't for uni another, then another due to the pandemic). I'm now 28 and in the fence, because I'm wondering if I'm too old! I was 21 when I first looked into it. Shall I just go for it?! Thanks 😍
Great camp video as always! Getting really excited now, it'll be my first time working at a camp this summer :) I was just wondering how much of an issue it is if you don't have a driving licence for post camp travel? x
thank you!! i'm so excited for you to go :) you'll be travelling with a group, so you guys can either get planes and taxis and public transport, or someone can drive!
Did you ever drink or smoke being a cc? Like I know it’s a taboo subject as your not supposed to but just curious of your specific situation as I know it does happen hahah love your videos Xx
Hi Ally! I found CCUSA and your videos in 2017. It didn't "fit" into my life to apply then, but last week I just got accepted for 2020! Now, of course, I'm very eager to get placed. I just wonder how long you waited after being accepted? P.S I have already watched every single one of your camp videos MANY times, wishing for another one. So finding a new video today was great!
Oh that is so amazing!!!!! I think I applied in Feb and was placed in April, so don't stress at all! I'm so excited for you, definitely keep me posted :)
I've been placed in Maryland with Camp Accomplish. I'm super excited but also slightly nervous because this will be my first time travelling alone and have limited travel experience. Any advice to ease my nerves?
Wow they have cricket at an American camp!!! 👍🏏 Great video Ally!!! 😊 What reaction do you get from the American kids to you being Australian? Do you teach them things about Australia?
I got a job at a camp, but before I even got contacted by the camp (I did it without an agency) I had a dream that the head of the camp laughed in my face and was like oh you applied a week late (even though there wasn’t a date for the applications on the site) and just sent me a screenshot from Facebook and called me a crazy Buffon for an hour so fun
I am placed for YMCA Camp Mason in New Jersey, i start on may 1st for Outdoor Education, anybody knows the difference between Outdoor Education and the summer itself?
Hi Ally, I sm 17 and hope to get over there for camp america or ccusa in 2023, hopefully travel to other countries after the summer is over. The way I hope to do this is to defer what would be my second year of uni, work until about april or may, do camp america, the 30 days in the US with the VISA, and then hopefully travel some other countries, depending on money (haha this is all if I actually have enough money). So my question is, many go back year after year cause it was so great, how do you manage it with uni and all that because obviously it would not fit in the aus winter uni holidays? Because I wouldn't think deferring uni year after year would be a smart choice for myself. Haha i'm definitely looking far into the future
Hey I’m planning on going when I’m 18 but that will have to be in 2022! But then I feel like I’ll be too young still as everyone seems a lot older 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Hello!! I’m new to your channel and I’ve been binge watching your videos! I’m from America, and i was wondering what your advice is for picking a camp since we don’t have CCUSA or anything to place us, or if maybe you knew of something like that? I’m interested in becoming a camp counselor :) Thank you!!
I don’t know if this is a weird question or not since i’ve never really found a camp related video where they answered it, but do the counselors ever go partying together during camp? Like on free days or something? Or is that something that’s not really usual? just curious haha
I typically just book flights home for the last day of my visa. You'll make friends and travel with them and then you just have to leave out of LA or NYC :)
Ally Sheehan so far our camp is still good to go, we just have to change a bit of things with how many “big” activities we have. (Which is my favorite part :/) but as of right now they haven’t cancled anything. Crossing my fingers. Did they give you guys any news yet for your camp?
@@AllySheehan at the moment I'm labeled as a camp flexi staff (program assistant teaching archery, kayaking... And also a camp counselor). So one week I'll be running activities and the next I'll be with a bunk of campers. However my director said it might change if I feel during training week I'm more suited to one or the other.
I’m going to camp this summer and I’ve got employed in the art department. I was wondering at what kind of level do my skills have to be , because I only did art at school I never taught it x
Natalia K hi natalia! Ive been working at a camp for 3 years. Generally if you camp is a Co-ed General camp (basically does everything!!) its just basic things like arts and crafts, friendship bracelets maybe even tie-dye or pottery. Youll be taught anything you dont know during orientation but its not going to be any extravagant! Have the best summer!!! You’re going to love it arts is always so fun! c
Sophie A Spalding also if you don’t mind me asking , I’ve got placed at frenchwoods festival and I was wondering if you knew what kind of level they’re looking for ? Just because I’m so nervous I’ll arrive and they won’t be happy with me
@@Lambbd5rb don't worry at all! directors have been hiring staff for a long time they know their camp inside out and know who they are looking for and who will be the best fit. From looking at their website i think in all they are just looking for creative and fun people that have shown a passion and ability in arts and are willing to learn. The directors don't expect you to know everything that's why you've been hired as a specialist and not the head of the department! Your nerves are normal when I was placed in as a music tech specialist my first year I felt entirely out of my depth and had fears that they would be disappointed in me but when I got there and learned the ropes during orientation, I knew who to ask for help when I needed and my confidence grew. (and now I AM head of my department haha!). Try and find out who some of the other people you'll be working with are (camps usually have staff facebook groups) they might be able to tell you how your department works and answer some questions!
Hi, I’m from Mexico, I heard that camp leaders is one of the best companies, will you apply for summer camp the next year? We can do it together 🥺 I want to go but I don’t know anything about the process
Florence Kennish I applied in feb and was placed in April!! They like to take their time to make sure to get the right people :) trust me you have plenty of time! Before you know it you’ll be commenting on here and telling me you got that exciting email
Ally Sheehan Headfirst Summer camps @ Episcopal High School, just out of DC!! Huge artistic boarding school it looks insane. Do you know anyone who’s gone there?
it depends on the division! with my older girls it was just me and the group leader, but with younger campers i had about 4 other GCs there as well because there are more campers and they need more watchful eyes :)
Could you be a camp counselor from another country, without an agency? I want to be a camp counselor for the next summer as my internship, but do I need an agency?
Do the girls and boy campers ever get to mix? e.g in activities? and make friends and do the counsellors get to meet all the boys and girls and make friends or are they kept to strictly one gender?
They absolutely do!! At night we have "socials" where they have activities together, but they can also hang out with whomever they like during General Swim, free play and any all-camp activity days :) They get incredibly close especially as they get older x
@@AllySheehan Thanks so much for getting back to me :) That's great! I wasn't sure whether they kept it completely separate or not. I've had many people go to the camp in NewYork, it's really recommended but I'm still a little nervous.
Best camp ever? A camp with youtubers? Weird. Never heard of it? Camp Kesem on the other hand- can’t tell you how many great things I’ve heard about that camp🤠
nope you just take care of the kids in your cabin which will be boys or girls :) if you're a specialty staff, ie tennis or ropes, you teach activities to all kids!
Is anybody else being a camp counselor this summer and binge watching videos like this??
Marissa thomas yes!

Yep 😀

This comment made me SO happy
I legitimately get so excited for people to experience this and for you to fall in love with the whole journey 😭
Ally Sheehan awww! You’re such an inspiration and I love you!!
my heart!! i will willingly accept that title and say thANK YOU because i love making them
I went to camp last year, and it was the best experience everrrr!!! Already counting the days for summer 2020🌟
yayyy!! where did you go?
I went to French Woods as a counselor in 2019 through CCUSA and it was the best thing I’ve ever done! I also uploaded a video of some of the theater I saw/ was part of!
So many of my followers get placed at French Woods! I know at least 4 are going this Summer, that's so awesome :)
I just looked it up and omg it looks so beautiful!!!
What was your role?
@@cynthiawhittaker2333 This is super helpful for people to see, thank you!
I absoutely know how you feel, my best friends didn't go back my second summer either :( The 2nd year blues are real but I promise you do make more incredible friends (my best friend in the world I didn't get close to until my third summer)
Camp is always magical, and you will always meet amazing people there
These videos always give me life 😍 about to go into summer number 4 ❤️💛 wishing everyone going into their first the best of luck. Its going to be a summer you’ll never forget x
Ah you're a true camp lover too!!!
Which camp is home for you?
Ally Sheehan camp Chen-A-Wanda in northern Pennsylvania! 🥰
hi loved your video! do u think you could do one where you explain literally everything about camp? Like, I’ve never been to an american camp before but I’m looking forward to work as a counselor in a few years. So it’d be very useful to know how to find the right camp, the right agency, how to apply, the different job positions (like counselor, co, camper and all that) thank you so much :)
this will be my third year as a counselor at camp in New York and went as a camper for nine years and still love watching your camp videos hahah
yesss three years go you!! which camp is home for you?
Ally Sheehan camp eagle hill in upstate new york!
Been binging your videos since I applied and especially since I got placed. Love them so much ❤️
ah that makes me so happy! where are you going? are there any more videos you'd like to see?
Ally Sheehan Cayuga in Pennsylvania, packing videos tbh I’ve no clue what to bring !!
LOVE THIS 🤩 Went to Camp in 2018 and had the best summer ever - genuinely miss it so much! Thanks for inspiring me to apply! Xx
Ahh that makes me so happy!
Where did you go?
Honestly don't know how im gonna wait!! how old were you when you did your first camp? xxxxxxxx
Niamh Nolan same! I’m planning on going in 2021 haha
OMG I'm so happy your posting a camp vid I love all your videos your one of my favorite youtubers
omg this actually melts my heart, thank you! i love making these videos so much :)
Hey! Your videos were a big part of the reason I ended up applying for camp in the first place. I got placed at Camp Ohiyesa in Michigan last week and I’m super excited!
I'm so excited for you!! It looks like an absolutely beautiful camp
Your videos are helping ease my mind so much going to camp, I’m going to be a riding counsellor at camp Waklo in New Hampshire. So excited!
I binge watch your camp videos way too often 😂 I want to work as a camp counselor at a summer camp so badly. Hoping 2022 is my year 🤞🤞
yess you have to!
Thank you so much for these videos! I’m going to camp with Camp America for the first time this summer in Connecticut. 😊 These videos are so helpful. X
yay! which camp?
Aww that makes me so happy!!!!! Which camp do you work at?
Camp Weequahic in Pennsylvania
But I’m excited and I may apply for next summer!
yesss do it!! it will be the best experience of your life :)
I started watching your camp videos a while ago and decided to apply for this summer. I got placed in Summer at Sandy Springs, in Maryland, as a videography counselor!! I am so excited, hope I have as a wonderful experience as yours. ♥️
oh my god my heart !!! it looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL. you are so lucky to get paid to capture the most magical moments of everyone's entire year!
Ally Sheehan I’m actually teaching the kids how to shoot and edit videos !! But yes, I feel very luck and excited!
It’s so interesting hearing about your camp experience, ally ❤️❤️ keep it up ☺️ I can tell you put a lot of work into all your videos
thank you so much annabeth
love love love theses videos! i went to camp last summer (on crew: dishes, cleaning, bathrooms, etc) and loved it and am going back this year (as a counselor in training)! (A small camp in Corbett Oregon)
ah that's so awesome!!! the kitchen/cleaning staff at camp are some of my favourite people 😌 that's so cool that you get to experience being a counselor now too and oh mannn i'm jealous, oregon is the prettiest!
This makes me so happy!! Love this one ally 🤩🤩❤️❤️❤️

ps. i'm so excited for you!
Hi Ally, how long before camp did you apply? i'm hoping to go to camp 2021! I love your videos by the way, you make camp seem so magical
Hey Phoebe! I didn't apply til Jan or Feb of the year I went, which is later than I'd recommend! The earlier you get it done, the better :)
Thank you so much!! Camp is truly a life changing experience
I’m going to GSMW camp in Montana this year! Looking forward to it soooo much!!
Montana is quite possibly the most BEAUTIFUL state in America, you lucked out my friend!

Mabel oh wow!! All girls camps seem so fun!! You’re going to have such a blast :)
You’re camp is very different to the Kamp I went too! I loved comparing the differences!
I'd love to hear about yours!!
Can you make a video about travelling after camp? How much it costs and so on?😊💕
How many years did you have when you did the first camp?? I will do 18 just before I leave and I don't know if I'm too young... a lot of people do it with 20/21

I'm going to Camp Equinunk & Blue Ridge in Pennsylvania this summer and it's my first time going to camp!! :)

I’m going to camp pinewood this year for my first year! Thank you for your video very helpful :)
omg it looks so beautiful!
Rita B thats so exciting to hear!!! That makes me feel really reassured, thanks so much for commenting! 😊🌍
Ella Lauren do you know what position you will be working?

I love your videos so much I’m so excited to apply to be a camp counsellor ❤️ can you request to go to a certain camp? and also if your really sick what normally happens like would someone else take your group or something like that? do you have a group of campers by yourself or does another counsellor take care of them with you xx

Hey, I went to Walden the summer before last, it's such an incredible camp! What role are you doing? Hope you have the best time!
Annieonnie I’m gonna be a general counsellor. You planning on going back any time soon? Also thank you 😊
I'm sure you'll have the best time, general counsellor is so much fun as you get to try loads of activities (I was dance and fitness)!

Thanks 😍

Haha they do now!! They didn't know anything about it beforehand really but we have a lot of fun
Has anyone else refused some camp offers before? One camp has me on review but I don't think its the right fit for me

Elpapi Kilo yesssss!!
The irl head of the camp was actually a really nice person, she talked me through everything and answered all my questions

Where can I find the strong duffel girl at camp? 😛
Right here!!

Ally Sheehan 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the vid! I’ve been placed at camp berger😍

I don’t know if this is a weird question or not since i’ve never really found a camp related video where they answered it, but do the counselors ever go partying together during camp? Like on free days or something? Or is that something that’s not really usual? just curious haha
Yeah sometimes on nights out or days off as long as it's away from camp :)
Camp vids are my weakness... #10for2
What happens with booking flights home if you are planning to travel but don’t know how long you’ll be travelling/who with/where to?
I typically just book flights home for the last day of my visa. You'll make friends and travel with them and then you just have to leave out of LA or NYC :)

You’re going to love it arts is always so fun! c
Sophie A Spalding That’s amazing ! Thank you so much for the reply :) x
Sophie A Spalding amazing thank you SOOOOO much ! :) I’ll make sure to ask around during my prep day too . Honestly thank you !!!!!! Xx

Are you going back to camp next year?
Can you still get hired if you can’t be at camp for the whole duration (e.g. arrive one week later than camp starts?)
Usually it's unlikely for first years, as you need to be there for the training week at the beginning :(
Some camps have later start dates though!
wait- so i go to camp, a ymca camp. so 1 what’s the difference between the camp u go to and a ymca camp, 2 what country are u from lol

Could you be a camp counselor from another country, without an agency? I want to be a camp counselor for the next summer as my internship, but do I need an agency?
you need an agency as they are your J1 sponsor and will place you at the right camp for you!
