    A drumless, synth, bass, choir (sampled I think) and percussion version of Arthur by Rick Wakeman, done by the maestro himself. In 1996 he made a different version with little of the original theme, with plenty of moog solo, it was featured on the album "Fields of Green 97". This one is a cover of the original one. He played it a lot live in concert until now

    I just saw the name of someone I went to school with go past in these titles. He's a producer somewhere on Newsnight these days, I think. There's an awful lot of synthesiser work here!

      Maidenhead was a Lib Dem target in 2005. She just looks like that because of the flash photography.

      @@Pikaling3408 She was and is still MP for Maidenhead since 1997 ironically when Tories suffered biggest electoral defeat.

      650 individual elections all needing analysis and graphics, almost all with camera crews and countless people needed to digest the data and put it all onto websites, graphs etc.
      incredible workload for a ~15 hour broadcast especially when you consider it starts at 10pm and ends about 12pm

      @@richardmadden8742 They asked that question for years especially after Major won in '92...and then look at what happened in 1997!

      @@kevinlongman007 Yes that's true. The media were still asking if the Tories could ever win a majority again after their third successive defeat. Some thought the Lib Dems could replace them as the main opposition in parliament. Like that's going to happen!

      @@richardmadden8742 It was in 1983 when the speculation about the SDP/Liberal Alliance becoming the main opposition happened as they were doing so well in the opinion polls.

      @@kevinlongman007 That pre-dates me but I believe that too. How things can change. Tony Blair was saying this morning that he didn't believe Labour could win with Jeremy Corbyn as leader but he's not seen the polls lately. After another fours years of Tory mis-rule I think Labour will have a good chance.

    Labour got a 66 seat maj finishing just 2.8% ahead of Con. Roll on to 2017, Con 2.5% lead, no majority!

      The difference was back then the Liberals did well enough in a lot of southern seats to split the vote and allow Labour to hold on narrowly to places like Dartford, Basildon etc.
