So if your motivation is to get a lot of crypto quickly, you're better to just go invest in a coin that is on the exchange. But you'll learn a lot and possibly have some fun (if you're into this kind of geekery) if you get started plotting Chia. Expect to get nothing. That way if you get something, it's a bonus. But those who sink their savings into something like this where there are zero guarantees of return are unwise.

The only thing that's annoying is seeing the goal post of rewards stagnated. But if I had 300 tb plotted than I should see a reward in 1-2 days.

How many drives can you hook up to a RPI4? How expandable is it with powered hubs? Are there any other HBA options other than USB?
