    Use a lighter to heat both ends of the air line tubing. Lightly push them together after they soften and let them cool. They will melt into each other. Looks cleaner than a valve or straw sticking out.

    I needed something like this, other tutorials used the hard stuff with heat guns, etc. That was a bit beyond me. This is simple and quick. I didn’t know if the flexible tube would float right or not. Thanks for showing newbies like me how to do stuff! Much appreciated :)

    simple question:
    how do you keep the tubing "straingth" ? in sense of not deforming in any way
    i made several rings.. i had them resting on flower pots for few weeks upto months .. they looked nice and verticaly even..
    after maybe 1 day in aquarium most of them totaly deformed.. verticaly.. while they kept the ring shape..

    Won't the floating plants block the light for the plants under them?

    • @LRBaquatics
      @LRBaquatics  2 месяца назад +1

      They can dim the lights for the bottom plants for sure. We do often over light a lot of our plants. High light plants not good to have floaters but low to mid light plants don’t mind it and sometimes do better with the light being filtered.

    • @LRBaquatics
      @LRBaquatics  6 лет назад

      Brown algae or diatoms is usually a lack of lights. Snails, ottos, and plecos clean it up fast. BBA will die if you put a lil hydrogen peroxide on it. Best to treat out of the water. I usually empty alot of the water and treat it while its exposed. But make sure to keep your plants wet so they dont dry also dont let it soak. Treat and fill.

I’m running the Seachem Tidal 110 and the skimmer feature keeps getting my water sprite stuck on the skimmer causing it to make a loud clogging noise. I'm not thinking of using this to feed my fish. I want to put my floating Frogbit plants in to keep them together. Frogbit is better than duckweed because it's bigger bigger leaves and grows much slower. Duckweed grows very fast and out of control. And your never getting rid of duckweed even if it looks like you've removed it all.

Your right its not really necessary and you should just maintain it properly. I am planning on making a vid on the impact of our consumerism and plastics in the hobby to keep fish and nature but we dont take in account the impact we have that we dont see with the production of alot of these items.
