yup, the DQ3 dungeon theme was where they pulled it from :D it was a cool nod to the old games, but... they needed a few other themes... after so many grottos XD
Definitely sounds like a creepy tower nice with jazz parts! I love it! 3 months later after this comment I played this part on the DQ 3 to the Switch. It’s the cave that leads to the tower where you get the thief’s key. So nice! I’m not sure what the other song is yet.
@@martinrusso409 there are lots actually. It’s a classical piece first and a jazz piece second. Listen to the progressions. The chord structures of the dungeon and tower song are too complex to be classical only.
@@JMrealgamer Now that you clarify it, I can sort of see what you mean but I still wouldn't call it "jazz". It sounds more influenced by impression and modernist composers than jazz. The key changes and sudden melody jumps. To me, it's a modern orchestra piece. A classical piece made the 20th century.

Yo yo! When I get things up and running again I do want to go back to uploading more OSTs. Dragon Quest music is fantastic after all! I'll look into the midi soundtracks to the games as well. It's fun to compare them :) The upcoming release of Dragon Quest VIII for 3DS like the mobile version will not feature the orchestral soundtrack that we were all familiar with in the PS2 version. I've seen a lot of people be upset about this and it's funny to me because the original soundtrack for VIII is very good as well haha. Thanks for the feedback!
