I was rolling when I saw the resell prices a few days for some of the dunks I’ve had for years that I got for 1/4 of the price they go for on stockx today.
I had the same thing happen to me at two different shops in the US. It’s amazing to me that shops decide that it’s better to screw over the majority of consumers rather than maintain some semblance of integrity during major releases.
I work nearby and me and my coworkers watched a few of the folks park themselves outside the Monday afternoon before it dropped on Tuesday. Same collection of people as every drop and they always bringing the shoes to an SUV that waits there when the store opens... bullshit tactics and didn't realize it was as bad as you explained it. We just watch it from our window not understanding how anyone could wait a day for the shoe but hope you're happy in the end.
It's interesting to hear an outside view on what goes on here. how'd you manage to stumble on this video haha. Yeah a lot of the time it just grinds your gears but there's only so much we can do and there aren't many options for limited sneakers in the GTA, especially the sacai collaboration which has only released in this store so far for all of Canada
I hate self proclaimed hypebeasts, resellers, “hustlers”. Would respect if all sneakers were sold like 50$ above retail, but na, don’t go out and get a real job, just find ways to make a profit off of true sneaker heads.
@Variety Snkrs yea thats the whole point. Your job is to overcharge the shit out of sneaker fans that were unable to purchase the shoes in the first place, BECAUSE of you.
I used to wait in line here in the DMV and I agree. The store employees were in cahoots with the line jumpers or/and back-dooring pairs right in front of our faces. I'm good on lines.
"Degraded" is a mild way to put it. I am also moving away from sneakers gradually because of all the greed and f*ckery from backdoors, resellers etc. Getting the sneakers you want takes an exorbitant amount of time or money which in some ways become not even worth it.
Yo anyone knows where he got that fleece jacket from? I have one VERY similar but it's military issued and I don't really like wearing it because of that. This one doesn't have patch spots on it for ranks and name tapes so it looks more worthy of civilian life if I should say.
I agree. Nearly impossible to get a shoe you want because of backdooring, resellers, bots, and other factors. At this point I’m taking a break from trying to cop any shoe
I feel the stuff you’re saying man, everytime I try to buy any creps resellers etc. (and bot users) are just ruining it for me. Everytime I see some new nice ones getting released, I already know I can’t cop them :(
How would you say these fit in comparison to the ambush converse chuck 70, I know they both weren’t your size, but I would like your opinion on the size for these as I have the ambush converse
They fit around the same. The Converse ambush fit TTS and these actually honestly might fit TTS too. The nylon really has much less give than the previous mesh pairs. They feel great on feet though
I still don’t understand why the big sneaker manufacturers keep screwing the youth of America by perpetuating a falsely limited market. I mean, no shoes are actually “rare” as these manufacturers can make as many shoes as they want. I’m happy to see and hear that you are a bit smarter than those fools that fight with each other for a pair of shoes that might net them 50 bucks on the secondary mkt. But, that being said those 2 pairs look pretty good on you.
Honestly I don't mind that they make some of them limited. As a global economy we're putting enough pressure on the world's natural resources as it is. I'm not in favour of making more sneakers since we all could probably do with less. And I know that goes in the completely opposite direction of what a sneaker collector does (hoarde sneakers lol) but it's better for the environment, even if that's not the intention
Your 💯 right on this Joe, take for example the ultra hyped Dior Jordan’s that are coming out.
