The frogs are called Coqui! They are an invasive species brought in from Puerto Rico. They’re a huge part of our culture and their song is like a lullaby for us. 😂it’s even my text tone
Good to see some fellow Puerto Ricans on here to defend the sound of the coqui’s lol. I love the sound and it’s my favorite part of going back to the island.
Hopefully you get to ride in places other than the Queen K. I strongly recommend riding south to Captain Cook area and the beach down there. Painted Church, etc. Also up on the ridge above Kona (there is a road that parallels Queen K)- Can go north or do a climb called Koloko Road up above 4000 elevation.
congrats on the 200k subs....looking forward to more from hawaii...including the frog song.... Hawaii on my bucket list for the biggest sea level to mountain top ride in the world..
The Scott foil was one of the fastest frames..... 15-20 years ago. It is in the same class as the trek madone and sl7 tarmac Today the fastest frames are the felt ard, venge vias, cervelo s5 (post 2020 models), and zwift has the data to back the claims based on drag coefficient testing. And this is just the road compliant frames. The tt tri frames whip the dust against the best top road aero frames.
Very nice wheelset FC 👌Fantastic to see you at the home of Triathlon, I'm jealous ! Looking forward to the bike tech stuff 👍On the tiniest of chances you see an elswick harrier triathlete by the name Mark Turnbull, give him a hello 👋 he's from Newcastle & a good friend👍Definitely NO socks! Really pleased you are covering a bit of Triathlon.....the bikes are sooooo uber cool ! 😎
Amazing work on the 200k subs Francis. Love your channel. I think I found you out mid pandemic around the 80k sub mark. Stellar stuff and ❤ your content.
I did wonder what your up to, all I know about triathlons it's bloody hard and pain management. New wheels look good on the Foil makes it look even more stealthy. as frog s had similar in France for jetski world champs, ear plugs never leave home without them.
Would be really interested in seeing you ride a local route (perhaps your studio commute) on your old Scott foil frameset and then repeat the same ride on your new Scott foil frameset with the same components other than the frame.. you could do this over the course of a week or month, it would be interesting to compare the performance data difference in the real world over a prolonged period of time
I remember visiting a family friends house party and hearing a lot of frogs noise at his bedroom when it turned dark. I asked if he could sleep at night with all that noise? He told me it wasn't that bad. You'll get used to it eventually.
And it didn’t start on Hawai’i (island name) but on Oahu. You did puncture down in The Pit, which used to be an iconic part of the run course. Bike/run Transition was at the hotel there.
Love how you cover parcours products every now and then... Could you please ask Dov if he could do a Deep 24" (520) Rim Brake Wheelset for my 6yos race bike? (wouldn't that be some fun promo thing to do *G*)
I don’t know much about triathlon either cause I’m only a year into the sport but I happened to win the Age group Malibu Triathlon & also will be racing Saturday. The basic concept is just to get from point A to point B faster than everyone else
Why not do 'The Impossible Route' starts at sea level and finishes on top of Mauna Kea at 4207m. It would be rude not to! Ask Vegan Cyclist if you dont know the route.
Using deep wheels on crits? You don't need that instead go for a shallow wheels because you need that low moment of inertia on crits to accelerate faster and to transfer power a lot quicker.
woops i got the length of the swim wrong, ITS A LONG SWIM
3.8km or 2.4 miles Francis 👍
The frogs are called Coqui! They are an invasive species brought in from Puerto Rico. They’re a huge part of our culture and their song is like a lullaby for us. 😂it’s even my text tone
I was just about point this little fact out myself. Story goes a gentleman from a Hawaii snuck a coqui frog in his suit case.
Coqui Coqui! I love it! That sound makes me waiting go back to Puerto Rico so bad!
Good to see some fellow Puerto Ricans on here to defend the sound of the coqui’s lol. I love the sound and it’s my favorite part of going back to the island.
Que algaro, suenan igual de altos como los de mi casa( vivo en PR).
Its funny that all tourist that visit Puerto Rico love the coqui sound but in Hawaii people are annoyed by it
So glad to see you're covering Tri!! Best of both now!!!
The wheels are nice, but that Parcours jersey is 🔥
Congrats on the 200K subscribers, Francis!
The 112miles is the Dick Evans Memorial road race course on Oahu, a rather fun race.
Dick Evans Memorial takes me back some years, the early to mid 90's for me.
Great bike but look at that travel case! Damn I'd love to get one those!
Coqui Coqui me Encanto! Francis we love that sound!
I've only just noticed: 200k subs, woohoo! Congrats, Francis!!

That's an awesome sound! We have frogs singing only in the spring here in Ontario.
congrats on the 200k subs....looking forward to more from hawaii...including the frog song.... Hawaii on my bucket list for the biggest sea level to mountain top ride in the world..
Congratulations on the 200K subscribers, I can't believe it took this long. Next step is 1 million.
thanks for your continued support
Love your comment at 1:15 - “they’re so fast, like being on Zwift” !! Too true, and from my angle a fitting dig?! Hihihi
I remember those frogs from when I was in Hilo! Didn't hear any in Kona. See if you can go up Mauna Kea as it is awesome up there.
Soooo jealous! Desperate to go to Hawaii. Have the best time Sair! ❤

Congratulations on 200k subscribers 👏🚴♂️👍
Dude, you were almost in my neighborhood! Next island to the West is my home.
"Can you hear that?" LOL. Jeez noisy wee blighters.

Lol at the frogs! We don't get frogs, but cicadas are pretty noisy too :)
Hi Francis, can you recommend a dog owned wheel company?
How do you keep you matte frame so clean? Any special treatment to not show smudges?
Muc Off do a Matt frame polish. Easy to apply and wipe off and leave no smudges. 👍
@@leeghathaway Thanks! Will look into that!
How much spacer can be add on in this bike
Ffs, those frogs have ripped off the chorus of my new industrial drone band
tree frogs...after a week you don't notice them anymore, and miss that sound when coming back to the continent
Damn that's a beautiful bike, those wheels just make it perfect.
Those look awesome... and Alarm frogs... OMG... evil! I wonder if they ate all the crickets...
Hunter S Thompson wrote a book about covering a triathlon in Hawaii, don’t think he ever made it to the race though.
Mate that is so cool that you are in Hawaii, I miss that place! Cheers for the invite :S
Amazing work on the 200k subs Francis. Love your channel. I think I found you out mid pandemic around the 80k sub mark. Stellar stuff and ❤ your content.

Thanks for this video i got an idea to build a flight case for my bike!!!! Why đidn’t i think of that lol 😅
Now you’ve got this bike, you can make a video with Safabrian 🥹
Would be really interested in seeing you ride a local route (perhaps your studio commute) on your old Scott foil frameset and then repeat the same ride on your new Scott foil frameset with the same components other than the frame.. you could do this over the course of a week or month, it would be interesting to compare the performance data difference in the real world over a prolonged period of time
Francis's tough life!😝
Francis what is your seat height from bottom bracket? Thanks

All that way to be kept awake by Kermit!😄

Someone might have asked this already but what kind of bike box is that?
Buxum box
@@Cade_Media thanks!
Just FYI, ironmam swim is 2.4 miles not 2.6, or 3.8km.

Everything in Hawaii contains pineapple AND Spam. Not sure if there's a vegan Spam available yet....
not called spam but you can buy a veg style spam in some Asian/Chinese supermarkets.
Are those flight jacket oakleys?
Damn that looks good

So cool! Love the new wheel set! I see you’ve made the mistake of wearing all black in Hawaii. Might want to rethink your color scheme tomorrow…
Nah Joe. Everyone knows all black is always coolest.
6:40 you love to see a Ryzon tshirt.
Great video
Those wheels do be lookin sexy!
I'm not even gonna watch it first, I have to comment that I love your straightforward content. Keep up the good work!

Don’t know how I feel about these new super bikes lol

"They don't say hello" - subtle triathlete bashing going on here.
2.4 mile swim.
