That noise at the base of the windscreen on the drivers side was quite prevalent in the LC150 Prado’s in Australia, it turned out to be the air intake thru the inner guard that is vibrating, I wonder if it’s the same with the LC250?
Nothing is and I truly feel that the first car manufacturer to do better will take the market. All new vehicles are plastic and have issues. It’s getting rather annoying.
Mercedes did this decades ago and Toyota took the reliability crown. If you look at the Data, BMW is rising fast. Who knows they might be the unexpected comeback kid.

I just bought a 2018 4Runner TRD Off Road for 28k with a lift and 100k miles. Zero rattles or sounds. Engine hums. I put the Shiftpower SP26 per Jon advice and the power on the pedal is perfect at 25%. I'll drive this for the next 10 years.
Jon, I believe I found the culprit of the sound you're hearing in your ear. For me, I kept hearing this sound in my left ear that sounded like tinging metal. Pulled off door panel, made sure bolts were tight and everything else was tight. Put door panel back on and heard it ever slightly still. After investigating more, I stuck a crumbled/folded receipt between top of driver's door panel and the metal, it has gone away. I believe it has something to do with the channel that holds the door panel in not being tight enough so it rattles the tin right under area. I will be happy to email you a picture if you want to see it. Thank you for the videos and knowledge!
Yup. My 2008 sequoia 5.7L is WAAAAY more comfortable and better built than the new tundra and sequoia. They feel like cheap pos vehicles. But my 2025 Camry seems amazing.

After watching this, I just want to say that I fully support you reporting the rattles. This stuff drives me insane. I hope they can sort it all out for you! Keep going back until they get it right.
I am 100 % with you and I 73 and don’t care if it is a $40,000 to $100,00 things should be fixed and they includes the annoying things. Great video. By the way those who say turn up the radio did not contribute to the purchase.
I have the 1958 and I accepted all of these same issues as “normal.” I did report the brakes to my dealer at my 10k service. I also assumed the seatbelt creak and door creaks were a by product of the reassembly ppf process Another thing I have an issue with is the inverter sound when over 1800w. It sounds like an airplane. Happens when I charger my bluetti battery or use an induction water heater. I’m enjoying the video and I appreciate you holding them accountable. As my first Toyota, I’m impressed with the LC.
I just went in for my 5k service on my GX 550 and I haven't had any issues whatsoever including rattles on my 550. I guess it's true that the Tahara plant where the GX is built is stricter than the Hamura plant where most LCs are built.
Yes please any service bulletin info would be appreciated. My GX 550 overtrail does it every time I back out of the driveway dealer could not replicate. I asked if there was a tsb. And didn’t really get an answer.
Hmm, 2025 Land Cruiser 250 owner here, no break squeals yet here, ill keep an ear out for the window noise nothing yet here. Overall super impressive with the overall quality. I haven't heard anything rattling, my lc was made in tahara factory, no ticking noise on the doors but ill keep my ear out for it. But i wonder if they addressed some of these issues Edit: that is an awesome pressure washer set up!
The brake issue is a known issue that they do have a fix for. Did it with my GX550. They will want to diagnose it but if they can’t duplicate it they can’t order the parts. With a good video, they will. I did this and the parts took two weeks to come in, one day to fix. That same bulletin is out from Lexus for the GX. I’ll e-mail it to you to post if you like. Mine was also squealing while moving forward in slow traffic. No problems since the fix.
I bet is the Seat Belt mechanism. I believe a metal ball rolls forward to lock the seat belt under harsh breaking. I think the ball rattles when not under load.
Greatly appreciate you helping to work out all the bugs for the rest of us. I’ll wait a couple of years before buying a cruiser or 4Runner (still deciding) with the hopes that Toyota corrects everything by then. Thanks for taking one for the team Jon! You are the man!!
Brake noise is a harmonic. Nothing is wrong with it but it is an annoyance. Dealership can’t fix it. Toyota needs to change pad chamfers or shims on the pads. I know because it was my job… they might throw grease on the back of the pads as a temporary solution.
If you move the seats all the way back and all the way forward the memory seats will work! On my LC. The only fit and finish problem is from the ac control panel is a little too loose for my liking but isn’t bad by any stretch.
Toyota’s have never had that great of quality in the trim parts, rattles, etc. They were never premium vehicles, rather reliable with solid chassis and mechanicals. It’s only when they start charging premium prices that people really expect better quality, understandably. Yours looks a lot better than stock with those wheels. Toyota can never seen to sell a bone stock vehicle that looks good without some aftermarket upgrades.
And the thing is they pride themselves on the aftermarket community too. And I do agree they are not the premium brand, but these are premium prices now . There should be a standard met.
Many moons ago I bought the first hen 4Runner. Before I bought it I was told to upgrade two things as soon as you got it - put a mild lift kit on because the rear springs would sag 2” within a year. The second was immediately change the headlights…. They were terrible. Did both, added a pair of Cibie’s mounted on my ARB Aluminum Bull Bar and added a turbo to the little 2 liter diesel. Get car after that.
My dads 2006 4runner had the same issues with his brakes for years. The dealership couldn't figure it out. It doesn't make that noise anymore. Maybe because of its age or the fact it has been in three accidents. Great video though. I think for road trips, you should consider the Sienna as it is quieter than this and can accommodate your entire family bertter.
My Supra brakes do the same when I am reversing, it’s so loud, It sounds like a horn. It got better as the brake wore down but it’s still there after 20k miles.
That squeaky brake sound when reversing was exactly the same on my Landcruiser Prado 150 here in Australia, I sold it a few months ago, but not for that reason. My opposite neighbours had the same car and theirs did it too!
I got the LC in underground and man is that reverse brake noise annoying. Thanks for bringing it to Toyota’s attention as it definitely needs to be fixed asap.
thanks, we have the same back up brake noise... thanks for the content. grabbed the controller you recommended to fix the annoying seatbelt sound. Getting ready to upgrade the horns to get rid of the meep meep. Thanks!
I have a 2015 Tacoma that I have used to travel 3 continents. It has close to 260k miles on the odometer. The only OEM components to fail has been the AC compressor and rear driveshaft u joints. The truck is heavy because it has all the mods. In that time several aftermarket components have failed or caused problems. But OEM was all good. My next truck will stay stock. That being said, I was going to buy one of these on Monday, I’ve decided to hold my horses for another year or two to see if Toyota figures things out. My 2015 is still going strong, just wanted something new for Daily duty, but I don’t think these new Hyper expensive Toyotas are up to the quality standards I’m expecting from a Toyota. I’ve owned 14 Toyotas in the past 22 years. At times owning up to 4 at the same time, but my confidence in Toyota has shattered.
Ours has the brake squeak in reverse, but I just chocked it up to rust on the rotor from sitting/rain. It seems to go away after a short drive. Thankfully I haven't noticed any interior rattles after 5500 miles. Just some wind noise I associate with a boxy truck. That door rattle is annoying though. But I gotta feel for the tech that's going to spend two days on this and probably earn 0.8 warranty hours.
I have the same sound from my brakes when I put this thing in reverse. I brought it to the dealership they heard the sound, but they said there was no service bulletin so nothing we can do. I raised a case with Toyota and they said the same thing. If they resolve it Jon, please let us know on the channel.
The seat reset is very simple. Just move the seat all the way to the back, then all the way to the front. After that recline all the way back and then all the way front.
A screeching sound from the windshield of a Toyota at high speeds is most likely caused by a faulty windshield seal, where the rubber gasket around the windshield is worn or damaged, allowing wind to whistle through the gaps and create a high-pitched noise; this is especially common after a recent windshield replacement and could also be due to loose trim pieces around the windshield edges that vibrate in the wind. *Possible causes for the screeching sound:* Damaged windshield seal: Worn or cracked rubber seals around the windshield can cause air leaks and create a whistling sound at high speeds. Loose trim pieces: Plastic trim around the windshield might not be properly secured, causing it to vibrate in the wind. Protective film residue: Sometimes, a protective film left on the windshield trim after installation can create a similar noise. Windshield damage: Small cracks or chips on the windshield can also contribute to wind noise. What to do: Inspect the windshield seal: Look for any signs of damage, cracks, or gaps in the rubber seal around the windshield. Check trim pieces: Ensure all plastic trim pieces around the windshield are properly secured and not loose.
My 24 4runner trd off road premium has a rattle in the dash somewhere near the infotainment center. Our 24 Tacoma trd sport premium has no rattles at all. One made in Japan and one made in Mexico....go figure.
2024 Land Cruiser 6000 miles. No issues with mine. I think that your model was some of the first ones to be build. The issues you are having have been resolved with my lc. You’ll probably get plenty of views though.
That ticking is wild. I too would be annoyed. Even in a much less expensive vehicle. I sure hope they take the time to figure it out. Also hope your contacts at Toyota are watching, listening, and figuring out the engineering/manufacturing solution. Thanks Jon!
Your channel really is helpful. Been wanting to buy a new car for 2 years now and your reviews have been great. I think I’m going to wait for a refreshed tundra at this point. Luckily I don’t need something new at the moment
If you think your seatbelt is connected to the A pillar, and you’re also wondering whether the windshield is properly seated in the A pillar, well, it definitely isn’t.
I have the squeaky brakes (not fixed yet), and the seat positions wouldn't save (fixed at dealer), but no other rattles or noises yet on our First Edition.
Yeah, my Sequoia TRD PRO feels very cheap... But not so cheap... I'm glad you're speaking on these issues like Untamed to get Toyota on notice and being quality back...
lol my 2021 Tundra made that same brake noise when I backed out after a few weeks not driving it. It goes away after some driving. My 06 Sequoia has that wind noise on highway but only at 75 mph. The noise goes away if I drive below or above that. Really weird.
For the memory seat you have to move the seat forward and back to the max recline up and down to the max and raise up and down to the max. Mine did it too. It’s apparently just to calibrate it
My 2007 FJ Cruiser does the same thing and has for years even when I installed new brakes, happens first thing in the am when I back out of my garage, I just live with it. Am waiting for my new LC.
That sound even I get it. It is purely a design. Check out the Windscreen Vertically Rubber beading. There is a hollow dip midway and these at both sides. The Air flow when driving creates a ripple and sound comes out. This is at 70mph+
I wonder if the brake noise is a wider issue among the steel used because I have a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport that does the same exact thing, but from the rear. It's to where Ford also has a TSB, for the 21-22 MYs.
when the dodge magnum first came out my dad had ordered and received the first hemi in our state. It had so many ticky-tacky issues he sold it after like 60 days lol. Loose dash, rattles all over, loose headlight, and it wouldn't shift into gear one day. Granted that was a dodge lolol
Thank you for addressing creaks and rattles. I’ve been wanting to switch to Toyota (for “better quality”) to avoid them, they’ve driven me crazy on past vehicles! Hoping to hear the dealership can fix them.
Totally correct for the money paid it should operate correctly and smoothly. No exceptions. Your like me. Very detailed on maintenance down to the tire pressure and clean under the hood always.
ouch! rattles are the worst! I am going to be doing a 1st service on my 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage, the only thing its in need of is the oil change, I have zero issues with it, nothing no rattles, shakes or wind noise, its drum tight and rattle free, its unfortunate my 3X more expensive Tundra SR had interior noises throughout, but my sub -20K Mirage is free of defects (so far) Toyota needs to do a deep quality dive on its interior engineering standards.
Jon, hopefully JM enterprises is watching your videos as they control the entire distribution of Toyota and Lexus here in the southeast US and can work to resolve any issues with Toyota
Hey Jon, I live in 30a and also have a First Edition. I have the dreaded rear drivers side door rattle. It’s all over the forums. It sounds like the glass is loose and rattles over small bumps. I applied window seal like you did to your Tundra, but that isn’t the issue. I also added door striker guards to tighten the tolerance. I removed the door card and padded every metal on metal and plastic on metal contact. It’s definitely an issue on these LC’s. I bought mine at PC Toyota. Which dealership are you having work on yours? If they find a solution I will bring it to them as well. I have video and audio of my terrible door rattle. It’s more than the B pillar. I had a 2021 200 series and never had these issues. I love the smaller size of the 250 series, but these build quality issues are disappointing. Please update us to the definitive fix. Toyota will surely have to create a TSB for this door rattle. I have the sqealing brakes while reversing as well. Thankfully, I do not have the front passenger side rumble from the front windshield. I also travel I 10 from SRB to Crestview. Hopefully, the dealer will have a definitive fix. Thanks for all you do, Jonathan
lol, I’m seeing into the future…yes, the vision is getting clearer…a long wait while your vehicle sits on the dealer lot resolved by “unable to replicate” and “we couldn’t hear anything” as absolutely nothing is done about any of this.
I worked at Honda for 16 years. Sometimes we got complaints about noises/rattles that I couldn't even hear. Even if you hear it then you have to find the screw that was dropped in the instrument panel during production.
power seat wont program because it needs homed, move seat all the way to either front or back, then all the way in the opposite direction, your door program buttons should work after. had to do with my 24 RAV4, seen on another video somewhere looking how to set seat memory. not sure why the seats beep moving tho, also my RAV4 was a japan model with a J VIN.
Without a doubt Toyota will continue to improve these vehicles. So many haters on the video, but the manufacturers will listen to TRD Jon and other hands on reviewers before any keyboard warriors. Great video!
If you move the seats all the way back and all the way forward the memory seats will work! On my LC. The only fit and finish problem is from the ac control panel is a little too loose for my liking but isn’t bad by any stretch. My brakes also squeak… Make it. STAAHP
The thing is, as expensive as these vehicles are for the regular folks, the companies like Toyota don't consider them to be luxury vehicles with purchasers that demand high quality. It's just another truck for Toyota, and like any company they exist to make as much money as possible.
It is NOT just Toyota. This is what the market and government dictates. People keep forgetting that with all the electronics and safety features REQUIRED on all new vehicles, car companies have to minimize the weight of the car and to be price competitive, there are going trade-offs, one of which is the use of plastics. Then you have electric cars, to be required in the future. it only gets expensive from this point on, better to keep your gas vehicles running.
The last car I bought was a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe. I bought it with 100k miles. Still runs fine. Not perfect. Cost me barely $9k cash. Don’t care if it’s perfect. But old and have less stress
Very nice vehicle but such a silly price Toyota is asking for it. Not so sure about those wheels they sorta of look like the generic styles you see hanging in the display area of local discount tire shop but it all comes down to personal preference so have at it. Certainly hope you get all of your creaks and rattles sorted at the dealer and the vehicle continues to perform well for you.
Lexus GX brakes are the same. They have a fix but huge waitlist. As far as creaks and rattles our GX has been silent. I think that’s what you get with Toyota vs Lexus
I hate squeaks and rattles too. This vehicle is far too expensive to have them. My 2019 Silverado has no issues whatsoever and Chevy is not known to have the quality of Toyota.
Thanks Giraffe Tools for keeping the LC clean! Discount Code: TRDJon Link: l.giraffetools.com/goHb68
Appreciate you being open about issues, no matter how minor they seem. It’s not minor when you drop $75k!
Exactly my thoughts man. Thank you for watching!
I’m not sure when people started equating more expensive vehicles to quality. If anything quality goes down with the more money you spend.
But! Playing devil’s advocate here. Can you name ANY vehicle, no matter the price that doesn’t have any issues?
@ But! Toyotas entire reputation is built around low amount of issues and they can’t even get putting on doors and windows right? This is basic stuff.
That noise at the base of the windscreen on the drivers side was quite prevalent in the LC150 Prado’s in Australia, it turned out to be the air intake thru the inner guard that is vibrating, I wonder if it’s the same with the LC250?
Can’t wait for the “Dealer can’t replicate” response 😂
nailed it
Toyota are cashing in on reputation… fact is today they are over priced and not built like they used to be…
This should be pinned! This is sooooo true!!

Inspect the windshield seal:
Look for any signs of damage, cracks, or gaps in the rubber seal around the windshield.
Check trim pieces:
Ensure all plastic trim pieces around the windshield are properly secured and not loose.
Thanks for the info! I’ll have to check the seals
Just got my GX 550 in for second oil change and had same problem with brakes . Pads and rotors were replace and squeaking is gone.
My 24 4runner trd off road premium has a rattle in the dash somewhere near the infotainment center. Our 24 Tacoma trd sport premium has no rattles at all. One made in Japan and one made in Mexico....go figure.
Was your LC built at the Tahara or Hino plant?
2024 Land Cruiser 6000 miles. No issues with mine. I think that your model was some of the first ones to be build. The issues you are having have been resolved with my lc. You’ll probably get plenty of views though.
That ticking is wild. I too would be annoyed. Even in a much less expensive vehicle. I sure hope they take the time to figure it out. Also hope your contacts at Toyota are watching, listening, and figuring out the engineering/manufacturing solution. Thanks Jon!
Sound like my 2016 Toyota Sienna backing up
If those ticks bother you, youd go absolutely maad in my 1st gen sequoia! 😅
Land Rover DEFENDER for me …………..THANK YOU !
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Love my FE LC! No issues with it. Hope they can figure yours out!
Your channel really is helpful. Been wanting to buy a new car for 2 years now and your reviews have been great. I think I’m going to wait for a refreshed tundra at this point. Luckily I don’t need something new at the moment
Its the 1st edition, that's why it has problems. Wait a few year's for the 4th edition and problems will be gone by that time, hopefully
Thanks for this, im gona hold on to my Prado 150 series 😂
If you think your seatbelt is connected to the A pillar, and you’re also wondering whether the windshield is properly seated in the A pillar, well, it definitely isn’t.
I have the squeaky brakes (not fixed yet), and the seat positions wouldn't save (fixed at dealer), but no other rattles or noises yet on our First Edition.
Dealers won’t really chase down noises , will they? I’ve never had one of these actually resolved.
Yeah, my Sequoia TRD PRO feels very cheap... But not so cheap... I'm glad you're speaking on these issues like Untamed to get Toyota on notice and being quality back...
Always have and always will. This LC feels WAY nicer than my trd pro sequoia we had. That was a plastic overpriced vehicle for sure
lol my 2021 Tundra made that same brake noise when I backed out after a few weeks not driving it. It goes away after some driving. My 06 Sequoia has that wind noise on highway but only at 75 mph. The noise goes away if I drive below or above that. Really weird.
I am thrilled I stuck with my 200 series ❤
That windshield angle looks like a rock chip magnet.
RUclips video on programming the seat. It’s super easy and takes a few minutes.
Will look at the that if the dealer doesn’t fix it.
I am still extremely happy with my 2020 ORP. I hope Toyota works the bugs out
75 K those are some crazy issues. Brake noise, wind noise I was considering this vehicle not anymore. Thanks
when the dodge magnum first came out my dad had ordered and received the first hemi in our state.
Hi Jon , it sure seems like most of the new models from Toyota have quality issues and the components are much cheaper and the prices went way up.
My Rav4 makes that same screeching sound from the breaks during reverse after having not driven it just after 48hrs.
This is why I think old land cruisers are made like solid rock. Thanks for sharing and being honest 👍
The Series 70!is still being built and sold in Australia and Middle East because it’s bullet proof. It’s almost 20 years old.
I get it, the brake squeal is annoying. But if that’s the only issue?? I take mine in this week for its first inspection and will mention the brakes
Toyota value has left the building, thankyou and good night.😂😂😂😂
My dad use to say don’t worry about hearing the rattle. Worry when you don’t hear anything. LOL
Insane issues in a vehicle that expensive! Completely unacceptable!!! To be clear these are not minor issues.
lol, I’m seeing into the future…yes, the vision is getting clearer…a long wait while your vehicle sits on the dealer lot resolved by “unable to replicate” and “we couldn’t hear anything” as absolutely nothing is done about any of this.
I worked at Honda for 16 years. Sometimes we got complaints about noises/rattles that I couldn't even hear. Even if you hear it then you have to find the screw that was dropped in the instrument panel during production.
I showed video to the advisor on what the issues are. Hopefully they are fixed or at least documented.
power seat wont program because it needs homed, move seat all the way to either front or back, then all the way in the opposite direction, your door program buttons should work after. had to do with my 24 RAV4, seen on another video somewhere looking how to set seat memory. not sure why the seats beep moving tho, also my RAV4 was a japan model with a J VIN.
Without a doubt Toyota will continue to improve these vehicles. So many haters on the video, but the manufacturers will listen to TRD Jon and other hands on reviewers before any keyboard warriors. Great video!
lol no they won’t (source my buddy is an engineer for them in Plano)
I actually have rattles in my A-pillars and doors too on my 5th gen 4Runner.
If you move the seats all the way back and all the way forward the memory seats will work!
On my LC. The only fit and finish problem is from the ac control panel is a little too loose for my liking but isn’t bad by any stretch.
My brakes also squeak… Make it. STAAHP
So annoying!!! Didn’t know the seats were that easy. 🤦🏻♂️
The thing is, as expensive as these vehicles are for the regular folks, the companies like Toyota don't consider them to be luxury vehicles with purchasers that demand high quality. It's just another truck for Toyota, and like any company they exist to make as much money as possible.
You have a lot of confidence in your dealer. Mine would say that's just normal Toyota stuff
I bet your dealership loves you 😂😂😂
It is NOT just Toyota.
They are pretty solid wheels. Light weight and monoforged too! Thanks for the support.
Did they fix the problems?
Lexus GX brakes are the same. They have a fix but huge waitlist. As far as creaks and rattles our GX has been silent. I think that’s what you get with Toyota vs Lexus
From what i know its a sensor to make people aware you are going in reverse since it is very quiet
This is from the actual breaks. Not the sound speaker thing
A pillar = front windshield area/front door area
B pillar = seatbelt area
C pillar = rear door/rear glass
Just nitpicking 😅
My F150 has that same "back-up" brake feature!
Your 4Runner still looks better than the new Landcrusier! Timeless design.
I hate squeaks and rattles too. This vehicle is far too expensive to have them. My 2019 Silverado has no issues whatsoever and Chevy is not known to have the quality of Toyota.
Yea I don’t remember many on my 2014 Silverado.
Is your car built in Tahara factory or Hamura factory?
I get the brakes, but the other stuff if nit picking imo, plastic will make noise, especially when new.
Yea I get it. But it’s $73K…its unacceptable
