2010 Toyota Rav4 How to Change Oil

A routine oil change brings about a good lesson learned!
This 2009-2012 Toyota Rav4 oil change video. Once the oil change was complete, there was a steady drip from the filter housing. The "new" gasket failed and we had to deal with that.

Is the splash shield necessary to have underneath? I keep having to remove it every time I service it.

I have never had to remove it but ours is missing a couple of fasteners and is loose so that may be why. I can't speak to if it is needed or not but you can probably just pop a few fasteners out and be good to go!
