    Can you do a video on how to compose/structure an action scene? If you're doing free tempo I don't know how that would work, and how to line the music up to things that are happening in the movie.
    BTW this is one of the most helpful videos for me so thank you!!! You're great Marc!

    • @CinematicComposing

      Thanks Jayden! I'm doing free tempo just for this specific scene. For an action scene I would definitely have tempo and markers to hit certain moments. I might do a video of that topic in the future :)

    If music for this scene had to be recorded by musicians in a studio - would you add a tempo track? How would this music recorded in studio?

  • @eross21

    so you did t set a tempo in this scene. but how would you set a tempo. do you calculate between markers or something?

    • @mateobezuh2199
      @mateobezuh2199 2 года назад +2

      Some good film makers arrange their movies with music in mind, making their scenes rhythmical and in sync with the beat. That way we composers have an easier job spotting and setting the tempo of the music afterwards. When that is not the case, with clever or dare I say even cunning use of time signatures and tempo you can make a score hit a frame or a marker you intend to. Having in mind the tempo would mainly be directed by the context of the picture you are scoring.

    Coming from a music production and live performance dj background, now transitioning into video. I tracked with you throughout this video and then you dropped a term I’ve never heard before “free tempo”. Teach me more, please 🙏

    • @stemoore7996
      @stemoore7996 8 дней назад

      Free tempo just means that there is no tempo set (or it is ignored). So if you were to put the click track on then the notes wouldn't necessarily line up with the beats and bars. Also, the clicks wouldn't be timed in line with the action on screen. This is handy for quickly scoring one or two instruments but you would struggle beyond that as you wouldn't be able to "count in" or play live.

    • @lostinthoughtstudio
      @lostinthoughtstudio Год назад +2

      @@farnaztabatabaee There is a couple ways that I know of, but they aren't near as good sounding. You could use a plugin called Clarity Vx to remove the music but it doesn't work perfectly. Pretty close but not perfect. You could also get surgical with the sound by using a software like RX or Spectralayers. Using those two softwares, you could even remove the dialogue and keep the music, which usually sounds better, but doesn't help in this case.

    Beginner here!
    Probably a dumb question…
    In LOGIC How do you NOT have a tempo.
    It seems there MUST be tempo…
    By default every project has a tempo, one can disable the click track and play freely, but the project seems to require some tempO.

    • @landonp629
      @landonp629 2 года назад

      Just because the software lists a temp doesn't mean you have to follow it.

    • @MarkEisenman
      @MarkEisenman 2 года назад

      @@landonp629 Yes, I understand that. It's easy to turn the metronome off and ignore it. I was just curious whether the DAW that Marc is using in the video has the capability of not even having a tempo.

    • @landonp629
      @landonp629 2 года назад +1

      @@MarkEisenman he is using Cubase - which doesn’t allow you to toggle off a tempo. But rather or not the daw has a tempo isn’t important if you don’t need it.
      Any daw can free-compose, just turn off the click and ignore the tempo lines. Some DAWs like Reaper can turn the lines off, etc.
      But to answer your question: I am not aware of any Daw that allows you to fully disable all tempo references. Some daws allow you to hide the tempo features though.
