Undertale - All "Minor Motifs" (MEGALOVANIA, Hopes and Dreams, Heartache)

- This video covers all "Minor Motifs" in Undertale. By "Minor Motif", I simply mean every leitmotif that only appears twice throughout all of Undertale, not all motifs that are in a minor key.
I'm not 100% happy with this video, but most of the gripes I have are pretty minor (sorry...) so hopefully people won't notice. Most of the issues I have are related to consistency, for example in "Save the World", the heart is only yellow in the parts that have an original motif, but the same isn't true for "Home."

Don't mind me. I'm just happy that Megalovania is now officially a Sans leitmotif.

Hmm. So Sans sounds like Megalovania at a different pitch or whatever. Neat.
How about the fact that at the exact moment that the "Megalovania" part of Bring it In Guys! is playing Sans is WINKING directly at the player? It could be just be him being playful, and it works in the context of the scene... But to me, it seems like he knows the player will recognize it. After all, you only hear Megalovania on the Genocide route.
I’m not gonna lie, hopes and dreams in Undertale caught me a bit off guard, because I immediately knew where it was

I didn’t realize that Megalovania was actually motifed in any of the other themes at all
It's funny how in "Bring it in, guys!" That one motif from "MEGALOVANIA" plays, Even though "Bring it in, guys!" only plays in a true pacifist route.
Still upsets me that (to my knowledge) the only connection between Megalovainia and the rest of the game is the credits theme.
The first 4 notes of dont give up and any song with that motif Are megalovania first 4 notes

Because MEGALOVANIA isn't an Undertale song. It was recycled from Earthbound Halloween Hack's Megalovania (as was Homestuck's MeGaLoVania).
I kinda thought I was the only one who heard that soft theme in megalovania.

the motif from battle against a true hero is also in amalgam, so it'd be more accurately described as a determination motif since undyne the undying, the amalgamates, and (presumably) mettaton neo are all full of determination for these fights

no, that’s the wrong motif. the notes in megalovania are slightly different, and the motif in don’t give up is actually just waterfall.

"Bergentrukung" only appears in its own song and "Bring It In, Guys!", and "Determination" only appears in its own song and "Asgore".
"Determination" also appears in Snore Symphony, and _debatably_ in Alphys and BAaTH
Also, Bergentrukung sounds pretty similar to Once Upon a Time
Edit: I know Bergentrukung isn't Once Upon a Time. Just pointing out that they sound kinda similar. Sorry if I worded that badly

While the first few notes of Bergentruckung to move in the same direction as Once Upon a Time, the intervals are wildly different. Once Upon a Time begins by jumping up a full octave, while Berguntrukung's second note is 4 half-steps away from its first.

MediaMotifs, I hate to be the guy to point this out, but "SAVE the World" isn't a minor motif. That part should be "Once Upon a Time (Part 3)". But, I do have to say that "Last Goodbye" is a remix of "SAVE the World", so, I guess, props?

I'm upset no one else notices the little Your Best Friend motif in Hopes And Dreams apparently. I noticed it because I attempted to learn it on piano and gave up immediately (heh) but had learned Your Best Friend before and recognized the melody

I’ve noticed that the melody of It’s Raining Somewhere Else and the intro to Megalovania sound kind of similar, I dunno if this is an intentional thing or just a coincidence.
It's Raining Somewhere Else is a rearrangment of Sans' regular theme.

For ya guys don’t know: Heartache is Asgore’s leitmotif because, He used to be Toriel’s husband. You will know if you play the game enough.
asgore’s motif isn’t heartache, his battle theme simply includes heartache, as he still misses toriel. toriel’s theme doesn’t have the asgore motif in it because she wants nothing to do with him after what he did.
