- Hi everyone, I'm here with an end-of-year video, to tell the truth I didn't want to show you this work because for many this watch is not interesting as it has no economic value.
However, I decided to publish the video for the simple reason that the watch has survived intact to this day and has also proven to work after over 70 years. It has the right to continue to exist.
Muigo is the watch brand, in the 40s and 50s it was common to find watches with various names all with cheap roskopf movements. They were the watches of the common people.
To make the watches more precious, by copying the Swiss models, writings such as "Swiss Model" or "15 medals" were printed, as in this case, the buyer believed he had a quality object in his hands.
Even the zircons applied to the dial made the watch noble to people's eyes.
I wish you all a happy new year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy the Video.......................
Maybe it's not an expensive watch but there's something about the passage of time that elevates even a humble watch to a whole new level. Most of us will go an entire lifetime without ever owning a Rolex. The Muigos of the world give the rest of us a chance to wear something interesting on our wrist.
I wish people would stop talking about Rolex, they make decent watches but beyond the hype they are nothing special and yes I can afford one.
I agree 100%
Is there anyone who said ROLEX 😍
That is the most basic, fundamental wrist watch so far. This is the first video I have ever seen which has show the service of a watch that was absolutely the most fundamental mechanism ever and I say BRAVO! I really learned a lot. Thank you for the video.
Mille Grazie🤝
Even though it has a humble value, it was treated as royalty! And here we now have a survivor watch that is unique! Great work and thank you for sharing.
What an unusual movement! I have never seen one before with the keyless works on the "wrong side". Thanks for the video!
I really like these old watches. Manual wind is, to me, a more personal connection with your wristwatch. Sounds silly, but.
I'm glad you posted this video. I own several Rolex watches including a very nice Daytona and a new Cookie Monster Sub date, but to me my most valuable watch is a worn out Tag Heuer which cost less than $2k when I bought it 20 years ago. How much you love a watch is the real measure of its value.
I love that you've made this video. There is so little documentation of these old watches. It might not be fancy movements. But some of them have pretty cool dials and designs. Like the one you've shown.
Thank you for sharing :-)
Das ist eine tolle Uhr geworden, die den Charme ihrer Zeit wiedergibt - Hochachtung vor deiner Kunst!
Very neat watch, wouldn't mind having one in my collection.
It may not be expensively made nor as precision as some, but a sturdy little watch! You did a great job and it has its own particular vintage vibe.
Thanks for your Comment 🤝
Very elegant. A black lizard would look good
Looks very nice this watch, a looker,.
That inconsistency in working is a product of wobbling in the rubies and shafts. It can be fixed. It is a nice watch, it does not matter that you have bought it for 13 € or 1300 €. It has a value itself by the work you have added and the knowledge that you have involved for fixing it.
the word RESPECT, just does not convey what I think of Watch Makers.
I work in engineering, I work on motors and moving elements that can weigh tons.
What I do is NOTHING in regards to skill when compared to some person who works on metal pieces weighing as much as a small ant.
Beyond Respect.
Thanks 🤝
Thanks from all of us. It’s a satisfying job.
Old watches that still run to this day, shows the pure mechanical engineering capacity and qualtity that was valued in the past even in a common watch for the working class. As a sidenote, it would be nice to add some music to the background if no audio.
If I put music on people complain, if I don't put it on they complain.
If a creator isn't crazy, he will become one.......😵💫😵💫🤭🤭
That is crazy. I like the video either way, so no worries there. Thanks for the response and a good video. I am just learning about the finer workings so they are a good help. The dial process with the laser was cool. @@watchrestorationchannel1061
Amazing watches, love from Karachi, Pakistan
💚Looks really good!
Looks greate
Weird to see a movement with little to no jewels. Other than the cap jewel on the balance assembly. When I reassemble watches I start with the train of wheels, sometimes do the pallet setup or the mainspring bridge which then leads to the ratchet and crown wheel. Which then I turn to the dial side. Usually the intermediate wheels and then the keyless works. That’s just my approach.
Every watchmaker has his own method.👍
Thank you for this video on a really funky watch that looks very good after all the work and expertise you put into it: 👏👌👍!
Looks awesome, great video
Thank you
What a great video. Fascinating to watch. Such an odd watch with a rather beautiful dial. Refine the dial a bit, nicer case, better movement and I bet you'd end up with a sharp watch.
It's great to see a not-so-pretty movement get the full salon treatment!
against the current trend I would say😄
Stunning
Interesting, BFG looking, but with Jewels
I thought so too. Looks like a fancy baumgartner with that click spring.
I also immediately thought of a Baumgartner, I checked the BFG movements I have, they are also Roskopf but the balance is mounted differently. The only 10 and a half line movement that I found very similar to mine is the EB 1199.
I could be wrong....
Thanks for the comment!!
Job: well done but this is the most strange movement I've seen so far 🙂
Thanks!!!
Your channel looks like it would be worth watching, but I simply can not watch a video without narration. What starts out as interesting and enjoyable quickly starts feeling like work for me. I will keep checking back to see if you start narrating your videos. If you do, I could certainly see myself watching and subscribing to your channel.
If you have never disassembled a watch movement I don't recommend starting with this one. It's not the simplest!
Instead, I advise you to buy a good watchmaking book such as "Watch repairing" by Donald de Carle and start studying the theory. Inside there are all the tools you will need. Subsequently you can practice on pocket watches which are the easiest because they are larger. If you don't follow these steps, damage is certain.
Good luck!!
Nice watch 👍🏻is it for sale ? Great video
The watch is not for sale
15 medals, War hero
For 13 euros it's a perfect watch, maybe it's not the most accurate, but that's 13 euros = two cups of coffee
EXCELENTE SERVIÇO 👍👍 🇧🇷
I have an Elgin from the 30´s that stopped working. The watchmaker told me not to spend money on it because the movement has very few jewels. Does that make sense? After all, it has worked fine for almost 90 years...
The watchmaker is right, it's not economically worthwhile. But if you don't care because it's a good memory for you, then do it.
It sure looks nice! After all this labour how much money could you request for this 13$ watch? Are you going to sell it?
I don't think I'll sell it👍
There are some well made East European watches. IMO this watches parts look better manufactured, than EE watches. With a nice oyster style case too. I like how the dial “rubies” catch the light.
A Middle East copy of a Swiss brand?
I’ll leave it with the experts.
I didn't understand the comment well, this watch is not from middle east, it was probably assembled in Europe. I agree with you, many oriental brands have nothing to envy to some Swiss models, the Grand Seiko for example....
@@watchrestorationchannel1061
IMO=“In my opinion.” But I’m not an expert, just a fortune owner of several Swiss, a Seiko, and a Poljot, watches.
I read some comments that matching perfectly my views on watches. I also own a Rolex and few other good watches, but my favourite one among all of them is a humble Citizen. Why? Is telling me a story, I was presented with that watch from all my co-workers on leaving England for another Country.
A Rolex has absolutely no money value compared to the emotional value of a watch like my humble Citizen chronograph. That is for me “The watch”
Grazie Maurizio per il commento, la vedo come te! 🤝
Un gran trabajo.❤
Thanks!!
Swiss model pour les montres conçus en suisse mais dont les éléments et l'assemblage se sont fait dans un autre pays
Oui, exactement
Time is a dead god Cronus 🌹🌑👍 Rest in the good news 🌷 okay bye

Артист
Мастер верни рубины!!!
A Frankenmonster from India 🤣
Indian frankensteins are fake, copies of famous brands, seiko, orient, citizen etc. This muigo at least its own personality and an original brand. Once upon a time there was more ethics....
I’m not going to read.😊
Nobody told you.
