- Learn how to track QR codes with Google Analytics 4 and see that data in GA4 reports. When working with QR codes, it’s very important to plan ahead and decorate links with UTM parameters, otherwise, you won’t be able to measure the performance of your marketing related to these codes.

Thanks for the video! Quick question, why not click the "Shorten Link" button right under the generated URL? I'm wondering why you didn't use it and went to a 3rd party site. Maybe using a 3rd party URL shortener has an advantage?

great video thanks! question... if I use a QR code for GMB reviews can it be setup so google analytics creates a unique identifier for each device so I can take that info and use it for remarketing opportunities?

Thank you for the video. A problem that might influens your results in GA4 is that in most browsers the scanned link from the QR code is saved and each time somebody types the beginning of your site url they will click on it while it's the one with all parameters. So a false qr code scan

I am unable to see the campaign name that I have assigned (abcd) in the debug view. The campaign appears as 'referral' in the debug view now. Can you explain why this is happening?
If you use dynamic QR codes, which are just slightly more expensive, you can still use this approach. ;)
Every time I try to put in the url I want to use google analytics tells me it’s not valid ? Why what am I doing wrong I used the campaign url builder dropped in my url it spit out the traceable url and google analytics rejects it

Thank you for this video! I am directing traffic to a site I do not own but need to track traffic, have been having trouble even after UTMs getting GA4 to track metrics via scan, I guess I don't understand how Google actually "sees" the QR if not embedded on destination site. Is this possible?
Not with GA. Instead, use URL shorteners like bit.ly. They can tell you how many times that particular link was used.
Hey Julius, What about QR codes that send the user for example to the phone contacts, and doesn't have an URL, is it possible to track them too ?
Talk with your developers. Maybe they can build an intermediary page, where people land from your QR code (and GA4 loads), then that page (after a second) redirects them to contacts.

Question about measurement protocol GA4:
Before in UA measurement protocol you could send &geoid to override the server IP and purchases' country were set according to clients, in GA4 measurement protocol I cant find information about how to override the geoid

Everything from Configure was moved to Admin. Look there
Is there a way to track the people who scanned the QR codes?
I already explained that in the video
When he starts talking about the Debug View (7:30), that is how you can see your results and any scans. But you'll need to do the first part to even get results.

It's unclear to me how the link I created in the Campaing URL Builder goes into Google Analytics. Do I need to add it somewhere in GA?
1. You generate the link. 2. Then you generate the QR code. 3. Then the QR code is placed somewhere. 4. When a visitor lands on your site from the QR code, GA will automatically track this
