- Here's the full dance of Chloe Lukasiak's contemporary/open solo "Ma, He's Making Eyes At Me" at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) Semi-Finals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Friday, January 14th, 2011. She placed in the Top 12 - Men & Women in the Pre-Competitive Age Division.
She represented the Abby Lee Dance Company.

Her ending pose and exit for thus dance were just adorable. You can tell she was having such a good time. It makes me sad that her dance teacher made her lose this passion that she had
I don’t think she lost her passion for dance I think she still has private lessons it’s just that she got sick of the treatment she got at the aldc

It’s so cute to see the girls before dance moms. They look so genuinely happy to be dancing.
She did great at musical theatre. I loved her dark numbers too but I wish Abby would’ve given her more upbeat numbers that showed off her sweet personality ♥️

She was so underrated on the show, it makes me so upset. She was such a great actress on stage, amazing facials, and genuine heart. And great technique! She really has the whole package and I hate that she did not get more credit on the show constantly being compared to Maddie.

@@whynotmealdc a lot of names in Pennsylvania are difficult to spell and pronounce. A few that I’ve come across are Dedominicus, Palakovich, basically any name you can think of that ends in -vich. I wish I could think of more but a lot of the weird names are serbian, polish, etc.

It's a polish surname, hard to pronounce for English speakers like us. I also doubt the announcer had time to go through all the names. They make time to do that only when the competition is smaller or has been narrowed down to several finalists

Am I the only one who thinks it wasn't the smartest idea to present a musical theatre solo in YAGP? She did great, but also I'm not surprised she didn't place. I don't know if the competition was any different on those years, but now it's mostly ballet/contemporary.
I checked and saw she did place with the variation La Fille Mal Gardee in the same competition, so probably it was the choreo that made her to not place.

It doesn't make sense in any capacity but perhaps Abby was trying to make Chloe stand out in the competition? Either that or setting her up to fail.
kaitie648 Probably just competing her solo for the season. It’s really unusual to learn a new solo every competition (that was just a gimmick they started for the show), and dancers only learn one solo for the whole season. That would be my guess.

This is very cute and well-performed, but definitely not YAGP material. They’re really only interested in seeing classical and contemporary ballet. Abby and Gianna shouldn’t have had Chloe do a musical theater solo, especially when Chloe does contemporary well.

@@toriandtilly No, she didn’t. Christi said that Chloe placed with this solo, but did not win. Either way, placing at a big competition like YAGP is a big and really great accomplishment sense it is really Ballet/Technique based.
Not extaxly true. YAGP is a ballet competition, BUT they do have other categories with different styles of dance. Elliana won with a contemporary solo at YAGP in 2018.

Edit: Now that I’m watching this over again, I can see that this aerial wasn’t that great. Her legs were bent and her feet weren’t pointed. I also didn’t like how she threw herself into it

no it wasn’t, her feet weren’t pointed, her legs were bent, she cut underneath herself and got very little height and her landing was rough.

wait WHAT!? This was a YAGP NUMBER!?!? For one I am blown away that Abby had kids at YAGP especially before the show. For 2, I am just baffled why she would send a Musical Theatre Jazz piece to YAGP. Seems a little out of touch. I thought it was a joke for the show when they had the girls all doing contortion stands and acro tricks at the Joffrey audition, but I guess it wasn't... This really is the content she sends her kids to at a series Ballet event lol

How musical theater placed top 12 in YAGP while ballet didn't at all?! I am kinda surprised
I can understand why this routine placed while her ballet variation didn't place. Even if the dance was "not appropriate" for YAGP, they score on how any routine is supposed to be scored on like with any other competition.
Her technique showed in this better then it did ballet, Chloe had amazing ballet potential but not necessarily good for yagp, Abby failed Chloe In terms of her ballet training however even though this dance isn’t a ‘yagp appropriate’ dance it shows her off better

Yes it is this was the original dance to baby mine but they couldn’t use it in the show because of copyright so she did baby mine in the show

She was fabulous and the choreography was great, but the dance tempo didn't match the music tempo at all. Ruined the whole thing for me.
