Disruptive Demographics in Georgia: Implications for Global Competitiveness

  • Dr. James H. Johnson, a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, discussed disruptive economics during GMA's 2014 Mayors' Day Conference in Atlanta, noting that the country and Georgia are becoming more diverse and older. Johnson, also the director of the Urban Investment Strategies Center at UNC's Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, said the future competitiveness of the country depends on the success of properly educated young people.
