Mate good on you for at least trying. I loved your video. your honesty is awesome and the fact that you posted your video even tho you are so frustrated :-) it awesome. I did the same with my s7 edge, was confident, started off well and about halfway thru and i must have went too deep or not perfectly level when removing the cracked one ( I too used a razor blade haha) that I damaged the digitizer just like you. I was so frustrated and p****** off that i thought yeah i can do this.... easy! WRONG.... I now had no phone (its still sitting in the draw broken) i can buy a second hand one cheaper than it costs to get repaired.
I feel you man! I just ruined my working broken phone, exactly same scenario what happened to mine. I just wished that I saw your video just before doing this thing. They make it really easy on the videos I've looked at.
I did the same. All the same with the black stain... Now I cannot access the phone, I managed to save som data using Samsung Find me. :( They charge 219 in Portugal to replace the screen (and I sure that I damaged only only the class but the whole screen...). I will simply buy a refurbished S10 phone now, it will be cheaper than repairing the galaxy S8. Thanks for the video anyways!
Hey buddy same happened to myself with my samsung note 10+ 526gb 5g was barkey a year old. Had glass for it for 6months. Said oh gell with it. Was so confident dude the co rear had the glass broken I took the tools they gave me and I went to remove s chunk of glass same thing black and yellow LCD whole screen if not 75% of it. And I didn't push any harder than you would to let your finger print reader read your fingers like say kf I tapped the screen with the stylus. It was not evenouth force to do anyrhi.g. lile so soft the phone LCD and digitizer probbaly would recksize it as a touch. Such b.s totally feel your pain man!!! Yhank you was about to go my samsung s8+ isnt worth it really.
You could have put tape around the screen so the sharp edge of the crack you’re prying wont dig in the amoled, or you can either press the edge of the crack while prying so it wont dig in
You can still repair it if you go for an screen + frame replacement (if no actual damage is done to anything else than the screen) . I have done that on a s8 plus and it is actually quite doable. A lot more expensive than just a glass replacement though, but less expensive than a new phone
2:41 So you're saying that you went to take off the screen first? If that's the case, that's you're own fault. You're supposed to disassemble the phone from the back glass inwards.
Well in general doing an outframe glass repairing is way better but in this case it’s just difficult to keep the screen steady, that’s why i think he made it like this
Definitely love it...I know it's two generations back now, but it has everything I need...I can't form a case to upgrade, except that I like smaller phones so the mini is tempting, but nah, it's a great phone that will live with me till battery death, and even then, I might just have the battery changed for I think $100 and still have an awesome phone.
@@VroomBroomZoom true but 100$ is a bit too much u can get an s10e or s10 used around that price tag. Changing the battery by yourself is better saves up labor cost.

lol, you know the feeling!!! Instant regret!!!! 😂😂😂 Thanks for your comment!
I just ordered this screen replacement on Ebay, now that I watched your video not doing it myself anymore. Thank you 🙂
Is very difficult.

That's exactly why I made this video lol 😄
Did the same mistake just now aaagr so frustrating. I don't even know what this black thing is that I just peeled off, that's can't be the display

Can this still be salvaged? Like replace an lcd set?
I believe so, btut it will take a whole new set, not just the glass.

😱😱😱 Note 10+ !!!! Sorry for your loss, we share the pain.

Thanks for tip, A BIT LATE THO BRAH!!!! 😂😂😂
Great Andrew, keep going with your videos

Thanks man, $330 for a screen 😱😱😱 I’m going to put that towards a new phone instead.
@@VroomBroomZoom Wow. I got one a year ago for only 140
Robert is that US dollars?
@@VroomBroomZoom Jup, from aliexpress

Welcome to the Ultimate Frustration Club. 😂😂😂 Sorry for your loss.
why am i here?
reason: I feel you bro! this is very sad!
lol, thanks dude.
you can replace whole screen, if can find one cheap enough
Yeah but it’s unlikely that it makes financial sense at that point
I did the same thing
What a unique feeling of watching a flagship phone turn to rubbish in an instant. 😂😂😂
👍
man i just broke mine today , well now i got to buy a new lcd screen which cost 150$ , so much for going cheap
Welcome to my world.
Is it the digitizer I need to replace now ?

When doing only the glass replacement you dont need to take the whole phone apart lmao.
I think I did the same thing with my galaxy S9. DUH!. Oh well best buy an S10 LOL>
I did the same mistake for my note 10+ 😩
I’m there for you, the pain will pass. 😔
😮
Come on m8 its not that hard😭
😂😂😂 was for me!!! 🤬🤬🤬
Just replace the whole front...
Yeah, nah, costs significantly more I believe.
Get another phone if something like this happens. Cause samsung displays are expensive asf. Better getting another phone instead.
Yeah, that is what happened (iPhone 11)
@@VroomBroomZoom dang the iPhone 11 is a great phone.

That’s just a glass replacement
So what do you mean by that?
it's just glass and the process is easy to do?
Comedy
Wasn’t very funny at the time 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
20 minutes too late... :(
I feel your pain....😫
Moral of the story - get an iPhone 😂😂😂
But i want Samsungs technology today, not when Iphone uses it after 3 years.
