Use that saw everyday, phenomenal tool, also picked up their 36v sawzall, the one that has UVP on the side, it has fundamentally changed the idea of what a cordless sawzall is capable of, my entire crew loves that thing
Thanks for sharing, I can’t say enough good things about the metabo line up. I’m phasing out my dewalt stuff. Once a dewalt tool breaks down I’m replacing it with metabo no question
I bought a a bunch of the Milwaukee's for my framing crew, but saw how light this thing was in the store and bought a couple thinking it would be better for the guys working up high. Well everyone ended up fighting over the two and I had to buy 5 more.
You are correct, this saw is by far my favorite, I also own the dewalt and Milwaukee. Metabo is the only one I use and same thing with the impact driver.
i bought one when you posted about it last. its a great saw, i wish it had a little more power but its easy to get straight cuts and its light as hell. thanks for the idea on the dust issue. i guess i have a new project to design and print on the 3d printer; an excuse to be able to write the 3d printer i bought this year off my taxes lol. appreciate the content.
What intrigues me most is the battery life. I can take 150$ and buy a metabo battery that will smoke a dewalt battery in cut life that is twice the price. Being able to stay working longer and for less is what separates doing it to getting it done in many cases
It should just have a 2inch rafter hook. The one it has is fine, but sometimes it's hard to remove from a 2x. Since it cannot cut through an i-joist, it's got no reason for an i-joist hook, imo. On the dust post, I attached the adapter, and put a 90° PVC pipe elbow on it, and it shoots the dust down to the right below my hand. I've thought about drilling a hole near the front and attaching a pipe, so it just shoots away from me, but I'm worried it won't work.
@@framingbeast720 It's a 1" elbow, one end male, threaded, other end female. It screws/plugs right into the adapter. It will clog if you're ripping like a 12' 2x10, but pretty rare
All of my metabo hpt tools are grate. Even all my old green Hitachi tools are good. But just the green looks and performance hands down grate compared to different tool brands
Small note, the tool brand is called Metabo but the HPT still stands for Hitachi Power Tools so it's still Hitachi. I believe Metabo was their German brand name or something like that.
If I'm not mistaken, Koki holdings, which I think has always been a part of Hitachi power tools, purchased both the power tool line of Hitachi as well as the German tool maker metabo at or around the same time. Which is why the metabo name is now used for Hitachi tools stateside. As for the markets across the pond, I'm sure hikoki was used to avoid extra confusion
Where are you from @framing beast? I heard you say you purchased this saw at fasttek in st catherine's? We are framing houses in Niagara aswell if your local!
Yes senco has always been late to the party. I haven’t owned too many senco tools apart from the 1 1/2 hanger nailer. I have to say though it’s a well built/thought out tool
Hey! I've been framing custom homes in Halton. I've always wondered how these residential development project go. Does the builder subcontract crews or do they hire their own? How many people do you frame with? Cheers and thanks for the videos!
How does the makita 36 stack up to that’s? The makita is what I have and I really like it. Looks really similar to the metabo too, what’s different about it?
Like the man glitter comment lol I have the same problem hate the saw dust on my socks man where can I buy one of those guards and what’s the brand name Thanks
Hello I pushed the safety button to the on position drilled a hole in it and put a fastener in the hole so that the safety button is always on have a good day
I been using the dewalt 6-1/2 right hand saw for entire jobs. every one walks passed the skil saw corded don’t even thing it come out the car anymore. Also The Milwaukee 7-1/2 , the dewalt 7-1/2 way to heavy so everyone walks past all those just the use the Lightweight dewalt.. I just seen the metabo in store today was surprised it’s lightweight and had a nice balance, Wasnt far from the dewalt 6-1/2 weight.. Would like to know how you feel about the metabo saw broken in after few months. And real feel from a real framer. Not tryin to listen this RUclips guy who don’t actually do any work or swing hammer giving out information they the worse for informational videos.. but u actually work with tools daily better to know from you.
I can vouch for that too. I have a 20 yr old nv83a with the old metal canister and it still is the first gun out of the bin each day. Never needs work. Alien looking metabo pistin literally snapped out of the gun first month in. Trash

The FLEX saw shoots the dust to the forward / right. Looks pretty good in action.
I have one it’s by far my favorite saw , light with just enough power
And the battery life blows dewalts out of the water
@@framingbeast720 Amen
I’m from the USA and I had the makita for 3 years and now change too the new Skil 7 1/4 saw, but the metabo saw was also a option
Just as you , tried the same saws and like the Metabo most of all. Looking to get the 60 volt line to try.
What intrigues me most is the battery life. I can take 150$ and buy a metabo battery that will smoke a dewalt battery in cut life that is twice the price. Being able to stay working longer and for less is what separates doing it to getting it done in many cases
Luv this saw
We have 3 on our job site and most of the guys go for this one over the other colors
Same thing over here!!

I bought this saw 7 months ago. Light AF and battery last all day
100%. A metabo hpt battery in that saw will outlast two in a makita saw
Love mine have two also Same power as the Makita yet lighter
All of my metabo hpt tools are grate. Even all my old green Hitachi tools are good. But just the green looks and performance hands down grate compared to different tool brands
Great
We have the same saw and we purchased a few more for Christmas gifts. We also have the Flex saw. 🙏
These are my current two options at the moment. After a year of use which one would you recommend?

@@offlinecity4055 That's exactly what I found as well. I've seen builders from Europe and Australia have the same tools that say Hikoki.
Keep up the great work ur a beast
Why is this so much better than dewalt? Im keen to buy a rear handle and got both metabo and dewalt batteries.
What about Milwaukee 2830?
I have been contemplating between this one or dewalt , i have saws but no rear handle ??🤷
@@bryang9158 metabo is far better and lighter
Yeah I’m in the uk and everyone of our tools has that stupid safety button before you can pull the trigger.. we hate it too
Just jam a small wooden shim in the lock
Either that or glue it down

Really interesting how senco, for a time, went nowhere with that tech for so long. I think only recently do they have a gen 2 and a framing nailer.

Typically the main contractor subs out the framing to guys like me who have there own business and crew.
Have u every tried the flex saw yet. I’m curious about them, the 6-1/2 saw caught my eye.
No , I held it at lowes and it felt bulky and the 6.5 blade dept limits cutting capabilities
How does the makita 36 stack up to that’s? The makita is what I have and I really like it. Looks really similar to the metabo too, what’s different about it?
Metabo is noticeably lighter and more nimble
I was going to get that one, but the 2 batteries set up was deal breaker
@@framingbeast720 damn, yeah the makita is heavy. it’s funny to hand it to people and watch their arm drop. Gets tiring all day though

Southern Ontario
Better than the DeWalt rear handle 60v skill saw?
