In addition, i loved how she forced the band to back off at the end and give her space to have the last word at the level she wanted to do it.
And the notes on her hand movements are spot on. She could easily qualify to conduct an orchestra, and though always polite is never intimidated by them.

This is the performance where I really stopped using the phrase "for her age". She is a consummate stage performer here, as good as (or better than) most adult singers. Her interaction with the camera is as good as it gets. One of my favorite Angelina videos. Love your reactions!

Its amazing that a 10 year old can take center stage in front of a 10 piece band and still remain the focus of attention. The band was incredible and Angelina was....well, Angelina! I really enjoy when musicians analyze Angelina and confirm what I've known since I heard the very first note from her. She brightens my day, every day.

top artists have covered. All I can say is that this is 'The Platinum Standard', for I
have never heard anyone reach me as deeply as Angelina is able to do in this
magnificent presentation......and she accomplished it while still being a young girl.
This performance is in everyone's top ten! Incredible!. With Angelina, that word is never an exaggeration. I'm glad you went nuts when the camera came around and she gave it a half smile while never losing her poise or a note. The ending is well, no one expects it and when they hear it, shock becomes the right word. But, after saying that I always make room for that half smile to the camera as a highlight moment, as well.

@@Beldvlmnt I just had to ask, did you hear the guitarist during that last bit? He went for it. He was her band guitar player for that time frame of like 10-12. Her acoustic player for all her home recordings in Norway is Egil and his counterpart in L.A. is Ivan Mendes. They both loved our girl and you could see it in their eyes when they watched her sing to their playing.

AJ "shows control over her voice AND over the moment" -- truer words were never spoke! Her musical brain is so tuned in that another part of her brain can focus on her environment, play to the crowd, be aware of the camera -- just astonishing for a 10 year old. Another great AJ reaction -- thanks!
Edit: Just watched your reaction again, and I really take your point about AJ's interaction with the band. When she ascends up the scale in the coda, she's actually directing the band with her left hand, so that the musicians understand her ad lib tempo exactly, and can anticipate her as she moves up the scale. All this in a live, broadcast performance. I just can't articulate how unreal that is for a 10-year-old. AJ's situational awareness is beyond comprehension.
Appreciate your knowledge and musical insight. And yes, AJ's talent has no limits.

It is not possible for a 10 yr old to sing like this, yet she does. As if she knows the meaning of every word, and with the very complex use of her voice. Always difficult for both singer and band when they perform live, but here they just melt together. She attracts the best musicians, but still…

So many times when I listen to and watch Angelina, I am impressed beyond words by her performance. I don't know why, I just like it. It's like somebody asking you why you like chocolate - I don't know why, I just do. But in this performance, you have pointed out the "why's" and the "how's" and it makes it all that much more enjoyable. Thank you!

The blast at the end is incredible. On the way there are many beautiful things happening as Angelina plays with rhythm, pauses, the melody and her voice. This is such an amazing performance: if you let people only listen to it they’d never guess it was a 10 year old performing live with a nicely sized band before an audience. She stands there on stage with confidence and poise as if she lives there. She surely lives for being there.
She was very happy with the performance herself seeing how she smiles and giggles at the end :-)
In my first few days of discovering Angelina..from Alan Walker homecoming to her NGT, I Put A spell...this one, Feeling Good I must say is the one that floored me the hardest. It just have the perfect climax that I never expected from that moment. And still this one never grow old on me.
well...it works! "On Time Jordan" needs to be added to her monikers of nicknames. Barefoot Princess, New GOAT of Jazz ect. There's so many things about Angelina's that's worthy of noting. Timing of this young child (at the time), is in the top 5 things of the 25 different things AJ does, that blows our collective minds and is truly not believable...but we know. Obviously you have always figured her out. You have one my favorite channels on RUclips …thanks for showing your honest passion for musical reproduction. Its great to have true professional like yourself giving us more insight, on this amazingly gifted young women.
Angelina at the top of her 10 year old game! She is out of this world talented. Poise, control, range, tone, vibrato, the list of vocal attributes goes on and on, and thank you for pointing out another performance attribute...subtlety. She doesn't need any in-your-face theatrics, never has. A look, a smile, a simple heartfelt "bye" at the end of many of her covers, all so genuine and her growing legion of fans appreciate it so much. I stumbled across this one by accident just after it was released and I remember how incredulous it seemed. I looked around my empty living room looking for corroboration that what I saw and heard was truly one for the books. Now you give us that corroboration by speaking from a knowledgeable place. Bel, I truly look forward to all of your videos of Angelina. I know you appreciate her as we do and you mentioned in your introduction how inspiring she is for what she is doing for her career. I always like to reinforce that Angelina's greatest inspiration in addition to her career is her humanitarian efforts. Giving her shoes away to a young orphan and then being involved in raising over 20 million dollars for children's charities over the years! The fact that she has vowed to utilize her platform to spread peace and love. That is what inspires me!
I certainly agree and in addition this summer during her concerts, she simply asked her audience to be kind to each other, to live with hope and never give up and to realize that you are never alone. As a spoken word they had more impact for me than as a part of a written song. She decided to say that then. She is trying to make the world a better place one audience at a time.

She was 10 years old. When I was 10 I didn't know much about anything at all. And here she is, doing this performance. Amazing! People does not believe what they just witnessed here. A phenomenal singer!
At 10 years old I was playing cowboy's and Indians with my friends or playing in the dirt... Angelina way way beyond any level of maturity I could even imagine, she is genius.
When I was 10....I was eating mud pies. Just saying.
When I was 10 she could sing lower than me, but I'll bet I could sing higher than her. I could hit high 'C' in the Soprano range and down to normal Tenor range except for the lowest couple of tones. I could sing them but I had no character in my vocal. So I was good for a group but not as a soloist. Then at almost 17 I was visited by Mother Nature and when last my voice was described it was like, 'a thousand geese farting in the mud on a muggy day in Georgia'.
@@davidcochran6291 Then you're normal. She is not. My voice sounds like a hippo underwater. My ears is still useable. So I just skip the voice part, and use the ear part. And my ears like Angelina. So here I am. Just being a fan of her.

She also had a hairdo that looked like it was styled by a tornado. She steps up to the microphone and sang a song that was difficult enough with music for an adult. This little curmudgeon steps up to the Mic and delivers an acapella version of Billie Holiday's 'I'm A Fool To Want You' and delivered it perfectly. She had just turned 8 yrs. old and I cried, stopped, then cried some more. After an hour of this, the pain meds I was waiting for to kick in did and I was so exhausted I was able to sleep. It is almost 6 years to the day since then and every time I hear her sing, I cry.
Hard to believe she is almost 18. It is hard to believe how she has grown in every way. Thank you for your response I sense a kindred spirit. In that spirit happy listening, and keep the tissues handy. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Here is a little background about this performance.
This was an event sponsored by "Plan International", a humanitarian and development organization with the goal of advancing children's rights and equality for girls around the world. "Foster Parents" sponsor needy children around the world with monetary pledges that go directly to helping the specific children whom they sponsored and are able to communicate with them via Plan International.
The event was held on December 30, 2016 at Chateau Neuf Center in Oslo which houses the Student Society of the University of Oslo. It was also broadcasted on TV2.
Angelina was one of several performers and delivered a stunning performance.
Most of Angelina's performances after winning Norway Got Talent at age 8 were for children charitable organizations.
This Amazing young lady with the big voice and bigger heart is 16 years old now and still performs barefoot to remember the shoeless girl that she met when she was 6 years old and to remind us all of the many needy children around the world.
Fun fact about Chateau Neuf:
The name is a pun on the French word neuf which is pronounced like the Norwegian nøff which is equivalent for oink alluding to the Student Society’s personified patron “His Majesty the Pig”

I am in awe of this teeny tiny adorable genius.
I have been guessing when will Angelina’s developing physiology reach the limits of its growth and development, maybe in ten years, and where will her limitless artistic development go to keep progressing, and what she will do to keep advancing from that point. One thought is into composing symphonies where the instrumentals become a form of complex simulating extension to her vocals.

That moment when she glances at the camera with a smile is a highlight of this performance.
So true, rarely anyone notices how comfortable she always is with camera's in her face since she was a young child (Grandma Mery)...probably why she absolutely embraces the camera. Big shout out to Jesse for picking up on that.

There is no singer on the planet that compares to our barefoot angel. I love this performance. It is one of my favorites. I saw two of her concerts in Norway back in July. I got to spend time with Angelina and her mother (Sara) after both concerts. She is so humble. It was magical
Concerning the band, the guys playing saxophone, trumpet, and trombone, played on stage for Angelina's performances about a year later: for example, Diamonds Are Forever - Proysenfestivalen - 21.07.2017 as well as other songs at that festival occasion.

There are so many things I get from this performance.
(1) The realisation that at the age of 10 Angelina has shed all childishness from her voice.
(2) A feeling that the placement of the spotlight at the beginning of her performance was deliberate. If it was, then, to my mind, it was a brilliant move.
(3) The fact that Angelina arranged this song and that the band kept out of the way and let her voice be the focus.
(4) The incredible low note she sang for the word "good" at the beginning and end of the performance.
(5) That wonderful crescendo at the end.
(6) The was Angelina used her left arm and hand throughout the performance
(7) The way she changed the microphone from her right hand to left hand, so that she could flip her hair back with her right hand.
(8) The cheeky smile she gave to the cameraman when she realised he had focused on her at about 8.14 in your reaction video.
(9) The almost instantaneous switch from "performance" mode to that of a young child who,curseyed and gave a sweet smile to the audience as an acknowledgement of their applause.
Others have commented that the performance by Nina Simone should be considered the "gold" standard for this song. Until recently, I had never watched her performance, but have now done so. They just cannot be compared, for Angelina's arrangement is totally different

Yeah, agreed. I long since decided that by age 10 Angelina was SO good that age no longer mattered in analysing her performances. Look over the catalogue she recorded that year, and every song deserves comparison to the best singers worldwide. "Every Time We Say Goodbye", "Alan Walker's Concert", "Feeling Good", [half a dozen others].
