As bad as I felt for Amanuma I felt worse for Kurama. He knew that he was just a child being manipulated by Sensui but he had to tell Amanuma the truth about what he was doing and what would happen to him if he lost the game and Amanuma just cracked. And then when he loses Kurama's face faded to black as he knows what he had just done. Truly messed up.
@@tevincrite5760 As Genkai herself said earlier, young people are stupid about life and death. Too young to die, so they aren't consumed by the fear of it.
Kurama is the most ruthless of the four. Not even Hiei has that much mercilessness in him. It's even worse because Hiei doesn't care about people, but Kurama? Kurama cares, he knows his actions have consequences, he knows exactly how much damage he is doing. He has weighed this child's life and actions against the need to stop Sensui and coldly calculated death. Kurama has always been the scariest character in the show.
And we get to see the full extent of Kurama’s ruthlessness when he rips gourmets skull off without any hesitation, and then puts Elder Toguro in a personal hell for all eternity
I don't think it's even mercilessness really. He has mercy: he asked if there was any way to stop the game without killing the kid. I think it's the absolute certainty of his actions that is terrifying. He thinks everything through, looks at all the angles, and then decides on a course of action. We make decisions too, but we're unsure, wavering, prone to rethinking and second-guessing, so the finality of Kurama's decisions (with such vast experience and intelligence behind it) is on an inhuman level. Him deciding a course of action is like dropping a guillotine blade: once set in motion, there is no stopping it, no making it hesitate or reconsider, and, if you've placed your life in that blade's way, you are simply going to die. In the end, he is the antithesis of the "Good is Dumb" trope. He's a good guy at heart, but Enma help you if you ever rely on his morality causing him to be foolish or rash.
Fortunately, the backbone of Kuramas' story in YYH was him trying to distance himself from his demon side. He's kind of like Gohan and SSJ2 form. He knows about the monster buried underneath. He knows what damage it will cause, and he knows he won't be able to stop it. And he hates it.

@@TheAnimeGYt I think far more people will check out an old anime if a new version doesn't exist. An obvious example, If you google search an anime without a remake, you'll be lead to results only of the classic. And if you search for animes of the genre, there is a higher probability they recommend you the classic if a remake doesn't exist. However if a remake is made, google favors newer releases. You will barely see any results nor recommendations of the old version. Even if the new one sucks. A remake basically takes over a significant portion of the market of the old one regardless of quality. More if it's good but huge chunk regardless. And the few people that actually like the new version enough to dig into old versions are ironically those least likely to appreciate it given they clearly were relatively unfazed by those changes.
One of the best examples is the Dragon Quest adventure of Dai I knew nothing about the show but because they remade it I was curious to see how the old one was because I didn't know it existed to the point where, Hunter X Hunter's first anime did that with the 2011 being the next thing that comes out and I go back and check out the old one I want that same experience for people who actually look it up to be able to do that.
