When she explained " this is me trying" it made me feel finally understood after 25 years of life with a chronic mental illness. When she said to the sufferer, its something that you have to deal with every day. And the thing about falling behind your classmates as you grow up. It's my life exactly. And that not killing yourself when you feel like you have to is still you trying. Ugh I felt loved by this song. And this song didn't mean much to me before she explained it.

mirrorball is a song depicting how you feel that everyone wants you to shine, but you can't stop shining. it's a metaphor for being so high up and illuminating the stage, but you can't go dim (e.g. you can't show negative emotions) because you're supposed to be shining. mirrorballs are made of tiny smashed pieces of glass or any reflective surface. she's telling us how even though she's broken into so many tiny pieces, people still want her to act as she did when she was whole (or when she was 16) even though she's literally glued back together differently.
Okay so I wasn’t a fan of mirrorball UNTIL I heard that it’s about and for her fans! She says in the song that she tries and shines for us, that she comes back for us , and even when “the horses and the rodeo clowns” are cancelled she finds a way to make us happy. Peace is such a calm song. When folklore came out in summer i was on vacation in the netherlands and we were near the beach. This whole album was such a vibe just chilling on the beach feeling free.❤i will never forget.
