Would be great if we could see what CPU LITELOAD does in terms of the spectrometers on MSI boards like this one, lots of videos out there on youtube, but no one knows what really does, like if was MSI secret sauce.

Even MSI has no real idea of what it does... They pummel real engineers down into useless bio sauce once marketing goals are met, and feed BS messaging to "support" personnel with ZERO actual knowledge or training, but like to SPEAK with authority, based on "messaging" they are fed, that their actual knowledge cannot support.
      A.K.A. basic corporate bullshit.

llc saturation with llc mode 8 vdroop is even better when used with a chiller/direct die on a seemingly very decent 13900KS and ddr5 8000 kit.
The z790i mb modified to set above the lancool III case tray, allowing the high flow Phanteks t30 120mm fans to envelop the board all around with low temp ambient air.
As BZ stated "more heat=more voltage " oops he said "more heat more vdroop" not easy cooling a tiny ITX.
Because of the high airflow and my preference of using only a few cores in many scenarios i achieve excellent Vrout/idle results on these settings.
I noticed real quick when LLC Saturation started to stabilize my high ram OC like the 8800 profile and the 8000 cl32.
I wished he had followed through with his idea to demonstrate the switching frequencies in conjunction with the llc settings!
I haven't noticed any weird issues yet experimenting with any of the switching frequencies including the dram switching even up to1500Khz, while simultaneously enabling Saturation + mode 8 llc at 6.4Ghz all core /8400 34 45 45 34/ and a tiny BCLK bump on top for 6430 Mhz fun....
Saturation + Mode 8 daily here...
I'm currently working on the igpu 2.5Ghz max clock voltage regulation that will be combined with the 6.4Ghz OC for fun!
I'll definitely start plugging in the Saturation values even more now that BZ admits it's a great and wonderful tool on MSI mbs!
I almost bought that Rigol Oscilloscope myself last month to do just this. Trial and error + guessing takes much longer to come to these conclusions. I was waiting on you BZ!!
    Thanks for the video still!!

what stress tests did you run at 8000? because I can't get VST to run at all at 8000 on this board.

      @@ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking
TM5/Absolute that's about a 1hr20min give or take. Hits ram and controller pretty good.
I can pass 8000 at vdimm 1.4v probably I ran it awhile that low just to see. Way lower voltages than my other kits.
I only plugged n played and tested xmp mostly. For instance I passed it on 8200 also by just raising the dram speed and vdd2 some left at 1.45 vdimm .
Where saturation saved me is that it took me longer to get comfortable just raising the vdimm immediately well above anything else.
Now i know vdimm is #1 first thing just yeet it.
      First time I ran 1.68-1.7 was getting cl32 44 44 34 or it was 45 44.
8400 is pretty easy, and so is 8600 to play games tweaked out.
Oh I also run ring at 5.4 majority of the time so aida64 44ns or lower but yeah I miss MLC on 12th gen oh well.
And this 8000 kit is my 6th since 2021. Also by far my best kit yet, I got it on a whim and thought it wouldn't be better than my other A die. Oh well.
My highest clocks are just fun profiles and don't want to stress them but might when I get a Apex.
Oh, ha! First time I switched on the new kit on this combination I was testing one stick at a time to find best slot and stick. It immediately booted 8800 in slot B1 with very little extra voltage. To get both stick to boot into windows and play around I needed a lot more vdimm. Slot A1 needs too much attention to make it worthwhile.
      !

    • @rs199208
      @rs199208 Год назад

      @@ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking
.. If the imc can be helped..
As I stated my A1 slot needs more attention than B1 but before I figured this out I found that my original choice of the best stick may have been incorrect.
So I switched the sticks around one more time as I was pushing the lowest latency tweaks yet on this 8000 kit but felt like I hit a wall.
Well, switching that ram around again was the largest improvement on this mb next to yeeting vdimm voltages to open up more headroom.
I had assumed the msi memory force indicator being longer than the other stick indicator meant less potential.
So now I wonder if longer the memory force indicator the higher possibility that stick has more headroom available.

Thanks BZ! Trying to tune 13600k/z790 tomahawk d5 here. Currently using adaptive Vcore 1.25 @ LLC mode 3 (flat vdroop from HWINFO reading at 1.302-1.306v max idle-full load) to get 5.5-all P core / 4.3-all E core.
    - How would one go about trying LLC mode 8 with LL saturation without osciloscope?
    - Can the LLC mode 8 + LL saturation be used with adaptive voltage? Trying to keep dynamic voltage here. And as I understand Override Voltage = fixed voltage on these MSI boards?
    - For durability/life span, is fixed Vcore with Vdroop safe? Or is it better try keep dynamic voltage?

Isnt the saturation point just a trigger point for when to activate LLC? So in windows with no load you dont neeed LLC which apply more more voltage. And when you start a heavy program current draws goes above the set amps and LLC is applied so the voltage wont collapse and cause a crash? I undervolt so my cpu doesnt reach max temp and clock down. I run 5.4all core at exactly 1.2V at all times. I dont want 1.3V at any times because a core will hit 90C and throttle down causing micro stutters in Pubg. I think this feature is best for high oc benchmarking where throttling effects isnt noticeable and you dont want to have a high static voltage in windows so the cpu gets degraded in a few years.

Same with shutting down/starting PC. Been so frustrating, it's near made me ill.

Buildzoid i have a video idea for you.
Back in the day i bought a AMD venice 3000+ e3 stepping s939 that thing was an overclocking monster at the time. Mine was rock solid on 183Mhz FSB x 15 multi, can't remember what the setting was called to dial back the Ram and Pci hz was called. Don't be discouraged when it won't boot at a certain Mhz. 1Mhz isn't the way with that chip you literally have to make 20Mhz+ jumps sometimes before it'd spring back into action. You should find one and have play with it Good Ocing fun just make sure it's the e3 stepping.
Do any modern boards have the means to limit / lock Pci-e and Ram to do some FSB clocking i miss it was great fine tuning CPUs. Especially when you're willing to make the jumps past what seem like walls . I did at one point do the math as to why and plotted probable ranges and had it way above but the hyperlink setting magiggy what have you meant pcie would start to be affected and my 6800 would literally cook itself at anything above 112mhz pcie but that was clocked and all kinds of BIOS faffing 😂
    good fun

@@IK4MS he's talking about a platform that's 20 years old (AMD socket 939, it predates the first Intel core duo), so strap speeds were definitely a thing back then.
Speaking of intel core duo, I remember overclocking on some cheap lga775 mobos that wouldn't allow setting strap speeds (and wouldn't let you manually adjust the ratios of the things tied to FSB either) which made the FSB adjustment useless after a few mhz. My solution to that was the BSEL mod (using a circuit writer pen to short specific CPU pins to bump the FSB to 1066 or 1333) was a pain to do but I built quite a few cheap computers (Pentium dual core E2xxx/E5xxx + $50 motherboard) and got them running far better than they had any right to back then.
