They did. I remember it well. Batman and Ghostbusters II were neck and neck that part of the summer. I remember buying the trading cards and being so excited when it came out with “On Our Own.”
@ajquick Cool... I kinda thought that's what he says at the very end, once I was editing it and hearing it over and over, but at the time I shot the host segments, I hadn't reviewed the entire tape in many years and was going solely off the descriptions on the log. I wouldn't have known the stylized spelling though, so this little bit of info allowed me to Google it just now and discover the host's name was Dick Wilson.
@skywarp82 Yeah, that's been talked about many places, and is noted in my log. But I had personally never noticed the hand-under-leg shot until I was editing this, and double-checked the film to find it was not in there, so I added the title card and slo-mo replay as a last-minute thing. I've since had some other diehard fans tell me they'd never been aware of that one, even though some of the other deleted/alternate shots in these commercials have been brought up before.
Ghostbusters Ii had the biggest opening of the series until Ghostbusters reboot opened. it was also the last ghostbusters movie under coke control until Sony bought Columbia months after the movie came out.
Another deleted scene but actually it's the dialogue, "I'm just as thrilled as you are." 2:06-2:07
Man they promoted the hell out of gb 2.

The original post is gone for some reason, but AJ identified the clip at 6:15 as Camp Midnite, hosted by Dick Wilson.
They have cut alot of stuff in the movie. I wonder if there was a work print

Justin Fencsak and sadly still holds the title. Let’s hope for the best in 2020..
