(I wont remember him from 1985 as was way too young then....kinda started watching Neighbours from about 1987/1988 onwards when I was toddler kinda age so would've missed Clive completely. When I think of Australia I think of Des Clarke and his crazy ears in the mirror! Paul loves Chinese food, and dang, how beautiful is Jane? I grew up in the U.K. and used to watch this show religiously at lunchtimes back during the 80s!

I’m glad I no longer watch it, I just prefer to remember it in its glory days. I stopped watching when Mrs Mangel left. She was my favourite. I even wrote to the actress Vivean Gray and she was kind enough not only to send me her pic and autograph, but also wrote a letter to me with it! Can’t believe how Jane, Clive and Des look now.
She left because of all the hate and abuse she got for mrs mangel being the wicked witch. So she was probably delighted to receive a nice letter from you, saying she was your favourite.

Neighbours wasn't the same once Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan left the programme long with the Old characters l didn't know that Jane and Des Clarke were engaged in the show originally, Des Clarke was heartbroken 💔 when he wife Daphne died after suffering injuries in a car accident he was left to bring up he son Jamie who was only a baby.

Despite his bad history, this is odd how Paul can ever be trusted like a really nice guy (even as a celebrant) as if nothing ever happened. I'm not intentionally criticizing.

Paul has evolved as he has gotten older. Do you even still watch the show? Hes gotten married and they did a whole storyline proving it was to his true love, hes built bridges with all of his children, even the one he dislikes that is it prison. Sure hes a ruthless business man, but he is not a villain anymore! He deserves his happy ending. And in the scene, he is not a an official wedding celebrant. As the wedding was not official- and was only part of a lasiters exposition. They would have to go off and get the legal documents signed elsewhere. (This was explained a lot during the 35th anniversary week). Therefore, because paul is both jane and des' best friend, he couldnt decide which one to be the best man for, so he decided to be the celebrant.
WOW ! Plain Jane has hardly aged a day since the late 80's ! She looks beautiful; stunning in that 'Pippa Middleton' dress and all ! Is that still Paul Keane playing Des ?

There were a few other well known neighbours characters that also 'married' during this Expo but they ended up getting married properly when they returned home. I'm actually glad that Jane and Des didn't stay together as I was never a fan of their relationship. Although if the actress that played Jane (Annie Jones) had decided to return permanently to the show after this storyline had played out and was done, I think they would have kept them together. Annie got back into this role as her mother had died who she look after for many years so didn't do a lot of acting in that period as her main focus was to be there for her mother.
