This is a new one on me I've been growing in clay soil for 18 years
I moved to Africa and where I live, the ground is straight clay. Hard, red clay. Lol. However, I have successfully grown green peppers, speckled beans, moringa, etc. Smh @ this video. Unfortunate.
I agree very much with Tom. I am having huge problems with my soil but not because it is high in clay, but because it contains too much clay an silt in combination and not enough sand. It also has nil organic content. When it gets wet and compacts, you wouldn't tell any difference between it and concrete.
I reckon it needs plenty of compost and sand mixing in it to make it ready to lay a lawn on.
You do not have clay soil
6 inches over the top? How many truck loads do I need for my acre of lawn??? No thank you.
You could use chip drop to add free organic matter to build your soil if you're gardening if your doing lawn stuff good luck
OR just grow in containers if you can't till clay and work in compost...
Were talking a whole yard... 6 inches would cost more that the house... I think NOT.

You don't need half a foot of soil lol. Ever seen grass sod? It's only 1". I've had great success with no more than 1-2 inches of soil. NOT 6.
These people are cruel. I'm like if you don't agree, move the hell on.
