Having Chinese versions of the songs from the very beginning really helped establish the massive fanbase in China, plus there are many other Chinese speaking countries in Asia - Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Macau, etc. You will see the proof of this genius move it still rakes in so much money for Exo and SM to this day. Despite not having any active Chinese members in Exo at present, Exo is still the biggest kpop group in China. Their pre-orders and total album sales and streams are crazy. And you will see individual members,bers doing fancons all around these countries like Chanyeol, who has not yet even released a solo album and his last Exo-Sc works were years ago - he still sells oit all his solo fancons in those countries to this day.

All the memories of my middle school days when I was just listening to Exo over and over everyday and through the days!!! My favorite was when I would listen to them on my bus ride to home! My most favorite time of day!!
This was my first EXO! I still love it. I used it to encourage 10 and 11 year old boys to dance. It worked and I've been with EXO since. The theme was because of Twilight. They did wonderful show performances along with Growl called the Beauty and the Beast for which they made short videos to show them as werewolves - the two versions centred on their Centres Kai and Luhan, and another complete spoof of Twilight. They are hysterical.
You are 100% correct back in the day even though they were two subunits EXO-L loved it when both units were together in one video the excitement they had was amazing. And when they perform Together live it was even more amazing to see both groups together sometimes they were apart too long to promote in Korea and China when they found out they perform together again The Joy they had next level. EXO-L loved seeing both groups together so much that when SM Entertainment split them apart again the fans were pretty pissed off and upset but they always put them back together because they knew not to mess with EXO-L just like these days SM does nothing but piss off EXO fans but the fans are always there to support them

"Wolf" was EXO's first comeback since their debut promotions and it came out in May 2013 as part of their XOXO album, so you will see all 12 members in this MV. "Wolf" was actually another one of EXO's songs that the mainstream public thought SM was making an even bigger mistake with. It was a song and concept that was too unique for most mainstream listeners when it first came out, and most people didn't really like the song or the MV. However, as many have discovered, it's one of those songs that once you listen to it more, it grows on you, and now it has become much more popular. When EXO had 12 members, they were all involved in both versions of their MVs. However, the EXO-K members were featured more prominently in the EXO-K versions and they were the ones that sang the main parts of the songs, but if you watch the EXO-M version you will see that the EXO-M members are the ones highlighted in the MV and EXO-M sings the main parts of the song. As you may remember, EXO's slogan is "We are One," which means they are one as a group and one with their fans, so even when they had separate sub-units, they were meant to be one group. What you see in the beginning of the MV is that all 12 members come together to form the Tree of Life and, in the middle of the song, we see how they split up into EXO-K and EXO-M and each group creates their own tree. How I interpenetrate that is they are showing how the tree has now been split in half and each half of the tree represents the two halves of EXO. As we see in "Mama" they talk about how the Tree of Life has been split in two and each half has been hidden away. As aliens from Planet Exo, it's EXO's job to find the two halves of the Tree of Life and reunite them in order to restore peace in the world. You should also check out the EXO-M (Mandarin Chinese) version of their "Wolf" MV to see what the song sounds like in Mandarin and to discover how the MV is slightly different. In "Wolf" the members are supposed to be a wolf pack. So, the entire MV and the song is them acting like wolves. The walls and ceiling in the MV all say EXO, because as a wolf pack, they are supposed to be inside EXO's cave or the pack's den, etc. (Which some theories have pointed to, could be connected to SuperM's "Tiger Inside" MV.) The choreography was created to use movements that made them seem like wolves, and the moves, such as them showing their claws and bristling their backs and shaking are all things that wolves do as they compete for power and attention, etc. The wolf comes out of the forest (as he scratches the ground behind the Tree of Life) in the beginning of the MV and he is stalking his prey. Their prey is the girl that, in the song, they are talking about being so obsessed with and in love with that they can't help but act like a wolf and capture her so that no one else can have her, etc. In EXO's songs and MVs it is often thought that the girl that EXO sings about is a manifestation of the heart of the Tree of Life. So, that is why EXO becomes so enamored by her and so possessive and protective of her, etc. Protecting the heart of the Tree of Life -- or "the girl" -- is what EXO has been sent to Earth to do. I'm not sure how this concept was supposed to fit into EXO's larger storyline, but many feel that after the 3 Chinese members -- Kris, Luhan and Tao -- left the group that the wolf part of the story was completely dropped and it is no longer part of EXO's story. So, we just watch it as a fun side story now instead. If you look up the English translation of the lyrics, you will see they are talking about being a wolf. The main point of the song is they are saying, I'm a wolf, I'm a wolf and I love you so fiercely that I am going to capture you and possess you and devour you like the wolf that I am. Wolf is such an iconic fun song like yes it seems (for some people including me heheh) rly weird on the first listen but it has so many cool elements. It's so catchy, the choreo and the vocals omg?!?!?!? The bridge part is beautiful!!! And the dubstep adds so much flavor. Pls react to their mama performances from 2015 and 2016. And theres a video with 100 most iconic exo moments it's rly fun.

Also yes thinking back the whole let’s be wolves concept is cringe BUT thinking back to 2013 it was very appropriate with Vampire Diaries and Twilight having their teenage fandoms. Also the same song in diff languages seems bizarre but marketing wise it was brilliant. That’s the reason why to this day EXO has one of the strongest Chinese fanbases and cherries (c-eries) are the all time most powerful fans to exist, the projects and sales they pull are amazing!
Wolf is such a complex and hard song. Despite being rookies Exo pulled it off so well. It was indeed a blessing for Exo-L to have all the members be in same mv/song but the thing was that the company really sucked in line distribution. Sehun, Lay, Tao and Xiumin almost got no lines. Heck even for a main vocalist Luhan got so minimum lines. I remember Exo hating the concept and lyrics of Wolf so bad that they sang the demo version so terribly in hope that the company would drop the song altogether but it was shoved down their throat. It doesn't help that the demo version got leaked which earned them lots of haters despite after the original version being released later on. Still Wolf was one of the most replayed song that year. I can't wait for your reaction on Exo ladder 😍 but I'm curious why you guys haven't seen season 1 yet. All seasons amazing honestly. Then there's also Exo Showtime, Exo Arcade, CBX ladder and their cameos in Knowing Bros.
