Warren Buffett also once said that you don't need to invest into a lot of businesses, only a few great ones. But diversification is key, it's a matter of knowing which businesses do well during economic downturns and can often be quite difficult.
Warren Buffett also said that during an economic downturn index funds would be the best way to go.
But I wouldn't put too much stock into what he says about investing. He has a bit of a track record for screwing over the little guy.

Haha I’ve read these quotes too. I think the first point works for him as he researches stocks full time and can dedicate long hours to learning everything there is to know about individual companies. Having access to the leadership which is also very important as only so much can fit in a 10k report.
Not sure how he has screwed over smaller investors however. He’s managing his AUM with quarterly disclosures - if someone decides to copy his investments, they take their own risks

Hi brendt thank you for the video it was very informative. Do you think you could make a video on the paid subscription on sharesies? I currently invest in vanguard index funds through vanguard but feel like I'm loosing too much money in fees and conversions to usd and not making profits. Anyways I just don't know enough about the paid version of sharesies and weather it would be better for me to get a monthly paid plan to avoid loosing money to currency conversion or other fees.
Thank you and keep up the great content! 🙏

Heya! I made a video almost exactly a year ago going through these - it has a picture of Santa in the thumbnail (sharesies increased fees at Xmas last year). The Sharesies paid plans are useful to save fees, depending on your trading volume.
