Another fun episode and yes, CGI lion is a travesty! I don’t want new lions to be caged but surely there’s enough wonderful footage from days of yore

You can still see (at least I did in the 1980s, during a Wonder Bread truck tour) part of the RKO logo on the corner of a building in Hollywood.

I always thought she looked liked Ida Lupino (time stamp 10:25). My husband just laughed.

This is one of the few videos I can listen through to the end. For it to have barely more than 500 subscribers is a travesty!

Stories behind logos are always fascinating. I have heard a rumor that Leo the Lion's roar was actually done by a tiger as the lion's roar is not as dramatic. Is this true?

I have heard that rumor too, but I think it's only a rumor. There are some great photos of Jackie, the Lion, standing before recording equipment to capture his roar. 🙂

Poor Greta was terrified! Are one of those lions used to lay on the back of Gloria Swanson? Just wondering because there is a famous image and scene where she is with a lion. I had heard that one 9f the lions ended up without teeth. I have read that in more than one book. As for the present lion...I hate CGI. It's used so much that I'm bored by it. Bring back an original from the 30s. I hate that they got rid of the Latin on the logo. Stop toying with perfection. You both did a great job on this and love the torch lady.

In what movie was the Columbia logo used at the end of the movie and not the beginning? Straight Jacket. I saw that woman on the Mike Douglas show. And that picture is NOT the Marx Brothers.
I thought the first MGM movie was Ben Her in 1925. The lion did not roar in the beginning because the movies were still silent...
