‘City of Industry’ has been one of my favourite tunes for nearly 20 years. ‘England’ is a more recent one (like 10 years maybe) both ridiculously good.

Hey Sir. Enjoying the work. Try a Jewish rapper from Boston called Edan. A song called Migrane from his first album Primative Plus. Bravado rap. He produces and scratches himself. Its a late 80s vibe. Rakim rhyme inspired. Then a few years later he made a psychedelic album called Beauty and the Beat. You should react to Making Planets from that album it features Mr Lif. Peace x

Awesome mate. Jehst takes my breath away no matter how many times I hear his tunes. The multis, metaphors and way he paints a picture are consistently incredible. Up there with Chester P for me as the greatest MC ever.

Tip - there’s a podcast with Jehst being interviewed by a comedian called Romesh Ranganathan. Podcast is called ‘hip hop saved my life’. Talks about the roots of UK hip hop and why his generation were so underheard. I think you’d enjoy it.

This is what uk rap was before it got surpassed by Garage abd and Grime music m.cs. In my opinion the Grime m.c era was a dumb down in terms of lyricism. But we've gone in full circle to a time where lyric content and delivery is respected again.

Did I get removed for the C-bomb?! That's another feature of the UK apart from a great rap scene. The C-bomb is just a normal noun used to mean "person".
"Who was at the party last night?"
      "Oh, every c**t was there."
"Do you know that guy over there?"
      "Yeah, he's alright. He's a good c**t"
      No offense intended.

CDR your channel is superb it is so great to find all these classic UK tunes, from what I regard as the golden era of UKHH, alongside newer up and coming artists.... keep it up.

More Jehst recommendations...... Dude, I don't know where to start. Falling Down was the first Jehst album I had and it's still my favourite album..... (and most people sight Return of the Drifter as his best work). He's one of those artists where it's hard to pick his best work because he kills everything. Erm, try the title track 'Falling Down' and '1979' from Return of the Drifter .... but check it all out. He's several albums and mix tapes deep. Ohhhhh, and 'Connect the SPDIF' with Farmer G and Bugsy...AND 'Cosmic Gypsies' with Task Force and Braintax. (I could go on and on).
