Cool video, I can't find any lake tanganyika cichlids near me. Are they mostly ordered online?
I love how the Puncs glisten in the light it's beautiful. looks like a Christmas decoration I have.
Wow, awesome fish!
It's amazing how you breed the plecos. When I started in 1973 they didn't know how to breed these fish and many of the other's.
Ya, they breed like crazy!
Excellent part 2. Wonderful fish.so enjoy
You vids as yr knowledge is superb.
Appreciate you watching!
@3:48, Jason, I believe you can see hydra on the walls of your Caudopunctatus tank.
Probably - when they were young we fed a fair amount of live baby brine. For the most part it goes away once the LBB isn't fed as much.
Another awesome fish room tour I'll be waiting for part 3
Thank you!
Amazing as always.
Thank you!
Those Neo caudopunctstus are fish i've been searching for a very long time. some of the most beautiful type of Neo's i've seen. If only i could get my hands on some lol
They are such cool fish. Hope you can find some!
I just wanted to say thanks for your videos, It took a few months to hunt them down but I ended up finding Caudopunctatus Red fins. It's odd I see this posted right now because about 30minutes ago I found my first batch of fry in my 40g.
That is really awesome!
Considering your African stock list and popularity you should get into cichlids from Madagascar. They're endangered so it'll help get the word out.
Nice fish room.
I really like a lot of the Madagascar cichlids. My problem is the biggest tanks I have are 125s or a 150 and a lot of them are super aggressive (and get large).
Doing the fish room tour this way is great. One question. Have you breed the lizard tailed plecos? Thanks 😊😉🙃
Thank you! I have not bred them - I need to do a little more research on them - not sure if they like the setup I have for them for breeding.
My multis definitely do eat their fry
pandas twin Tv Interesting - I have kept them for a long time and have lots of friends who do as well and none have eaten their fry (that we can tell). Nothing else in the tank)? Also, I have found that survival rates decrease without live baby brine.
Prime Time Aquatics I am able to feed and keep them alive for a while but they get eaten they are the only fish in the tank but I forgot to mention it’s a ten gallon I’ve seen them getting eaten there’s not too much I can do because I’ve unsuccessfully trying to catch them
Wow another really great video Jason multis and redfins in one video dont know which is my favorite im just now seeing my redfins show breeding signs look at all your fry incredible
They really took off as soon as I got them!
@@PrimeTimeAquatics yeah comparing sizes i think mine still have a bit of growing to do ive only got 1 that keeps stripes
Oh you will be surprised by this i decided to setup a wild betta tank soon after the 280 is setup lol ill have to get a few more shell dwellers species to balance it out lol
The multi low boy.... one of the best tanks on youtube!
Thank you!
😍
Loved it. Beautiful. Btw . Is there any driftwood or branches for my aquariums that I dont have to treat first.
Sandra Valdez most of our mopani, Malaysian, spider wood is just soaked, but that’s at.
My one of my male saolosi is trying to breed but they never colored to blue but probably could be not being high in the pecking order. I still have all four from you and love them!! Now can’t wait for the next GCCA for more blue rams for another tank. I think we’re starting to get multitank syndrome lol 😂
MTS is real! Haha. The males will usually start showing stripes before they turn blue. I'll have more at the next swap too. : -)
lotsa babies!!!!!
One of my favorite fish rooms ever!
Thanks for watching!
All cool fish. I have a Pleco do I need to feed him some kind of food. I have no algae in my tank if there is I can't see it. Thank you for showing your tanks
I usually add some sinking pellets or algae wafers to my pleco tanks.
@@PrimeTimeAquatics Thank you
Acara babies!!!!
Awesome!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Ya, excited to have them!
Gorgeous cyprichromis. Beautiful aquariums. Very nice. Wish you new luck, my dear friend.
I LOVE your star sapphires! They are gorgeous fish!
I agree - can't wait until they get a larger space!
I really like the Neolamprologus caudopuntatus tank. Do you ever sell those online?
Nevermind. I just heard you say on the video that you don't sell online. Only locally and I have no idea where you are located. I'm in Decherd, Tennessee.
Excellent, love the low boy tank, so much going on 🤓
Thanks Mark!
What an amazing showcase. Captivated me entire time. So jealous.
Thank you! Appreciate you watching.
Oh man this just keeps getting better and better!!! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you!
what a beautiful fish you have there, all of them. I do love your female saulosi.
Very cool Jason. Love the Val tank.
Thank you!
Your low boy multi tank is so stunning. I love that tank. The long fin blue eyed plecos...oh so pretty. Enjoying your 2020 fish room tour.
👍💕👍
Thank you! I'm looking forward to seeing the blue eye plecos grow out!
So many beautiful fish. Fantastic fish room, congrats.👌👌👍👍😍
Thank you! Appreciate it.
I had a Nyeree Cichlid that had, what I believe to be, a paralyzed tail fin (area). He couldnt swim much or anything, but he ate well and never got picked on, so I kept him in the tank. Ended up having him for 5 years.
Ya, I generally don't cull pet fish if they have quality of life just because they aren't "normal". Obviously, I won't breed them, but that little guy has been doing his thing for a few years. : -)
Fantastic. Looking forward to part 3. I love your tanks. Thank your for sharing! - Little Bobby
Thank you!
Always love the shrimp tank!
Thank you - they really took off!
Mine are starting to breed. I see babies within the java moss. What’s your tds with the shrimp?
I’m keeping giant duckweed with my shrimp tank so the water is pristine. Loving the look
Some more quality fish👌🏻 really enjoying this series & look at all the tanks
Thank you! It's fun shooting all the tanks again.
Those L144’s 😍
Beautiful fish and tanks!
Thank you!
Love the videos.. beautiful fish.
Thank you!
Oh wow! Caudopuncs galore! Want them but afraid of insane amounts of babies.
Question: What size tank is the Cyprochromis in? I can't figure out what type you have. Dorsal looks a bit different than some others I've seen. Think they can go in a 33" long x 16" high tank? I wish I could just have a small school of male only.
Question: The sand that you like - the CaribSea - is that the Super Naturals non 'active' type or is it a buffering sand. I'm trying to find a very white sand as a starter but don't know if I should get the cichlid, etc. I don't feel my tap needs altering unless its for insurance.
I have the cyps in a 40 breeder (they are mpulungu), which is 36" long. I feel like they do much better in my 125 gallon on the other side - more room for them to dart around in. I like both types of caribsea - the cichlid mix doesn't do anything to our water because it already has a high pH and hardwater.
You guys only give us awesome content!! Please keep going, can't get enough!!
Thank you! We will try! : -)
Oh, and "Lots of babies" please!!
Awesome Video, I have a question, does the sand effect the PH? I’ve never used sand but I’m going to set up 2 Corydora breeding tanks, and I want to use sand.
It depends on the sand. If you want sand that isn't going to impact water parameters choose something that says inert on the package. I have found a lot of the common brands found in stores are inert.
Thank You
What do you feed your shrimp besides the bacteria and algae slime in the tank?
They get Northfin sinking pellets of all kinds and algae wafers.
What sand do you recommend for multis ?
I like the caribsea sand.
Mad respect. Love ur fish room. I will have to share a video with you of my fish room in the near future. Take care.
3:45 is that hydra on the glass in the lower left?
Probably - we get hydra in many of the tanks where we feed live baby brine.
@@PrimeTimeAquatics fair enough! I only recently became aware of hydra, and was just wondering if that was what I was seeing.
Any concern with inbreeding in fish? Seems a lot of people start with a few shell dwellers then have a big colony. I was wondering if the genetics get weaker.
In time they probably do, but it takes longer than mammals.
Jason, Please share fry stripping videos
I will add it to the list!
Do you sell locally? I am in the chicagoland area and am looking for various tanganyikans for a 135 gallon community. Thanks in advance.
I just sell at local swaps and auctions when they are running.
Where can you buy a stand for a 50 gallon lowboy?
Also, do you have a lid on the tank?
I made my own stand, but a stand that can hold a 4ft 150 gallon tank should also work since they are the same length and width. I had to make the lid out of polycarbonate. This video shows how to do it: ruclips.net/video/xyQcuxJ7QV4/видео.html
I see lots of Caudos which means they're not killing each other. IDK how long you've kept them, but have you had any mishaps? I'm really struggling between Caudos (which I've been obsessed with) and Multies. The last thing I need in my life is to see aggression with it's resulting stress. Was told by one person her female caudo ate her babies and killed her male and tried to kill every male subsequently introduced. Maybe she was just 'off'. IDK.
I have heard all the horror stories too, but I have bred these guys a couple times and have had the same result both times. That being said, I always started with a group that grew up together. Both pairs had fry at about the same time and they each took one side of the tank and I had zero issues (as you can see). : -)
@@PrimeTimeAquatics I wish you would selectively breed Ocellatus for temperament. Develop your own line of Non 'murder fish'. You would be a sensation! Everyone would want them.
Love your fish. Have you tried the tofu with your fish. My long fin super red bushy nose are in quarantine and that is a big part of my feeding routine other vegetables and commercial foods. Doing great and seeing a big difference in color much, much better than when they arrived and size is picking up.Thank you again for the videos and information.
I just got a lowboy myself what are the dimensions of your stand mainly the height
Great tanks! You mentioned you regret the pool filter sand for the multis. What sand do you recommend?
My favorite right now is Caribsea.
👍
Hey Jason (or any hobbyist looking), I'm planning out my first tank (75 or 125 gallon) and I've worked out the stocking (without snails/shrimps). It's starting to feel like it's too much for 75, but is this too much for a 125 as well?
Tank @ 7.2 pH, 75 F, 12 dGh
Roseline Shark (6)
Peacock Gudgeon (M/3F)
Black Phantom Tetra (6)
Corydora (6)
White Skirt Tetra (6)
Nannacara Anomala (M/3F)
Electric Blue Acara (6)
Guppies (6)
Please promise me that part three will not have a rave/dance/trance 'music' backing track. Maybe it's just me but I found it difficult to listen to what you were saying with that noise going on.
I promise part three doesn't have dance music in the background. : -) It's so weird because during editing sometimes the music doesn't come through as loud, but after uploading it seems like the volume changes relative to my voice. Very frustrating.
The more I look at your tanks the more I think I have to much filtration going on. The one time I tired a sponge filter it did not collect any debris.
DOn't stress too much - ultimately you have to do work works best for your setups. If you can dial filtration back that 's cool - if you feel you are not getting the results you want after doing it - you can always add more. The trick with sponge filters for us is cleaning them once a week.
First! please pin because im First to comment ahaha
theyre not schooling?
