Vita carnis is an analog horror series created by the youtuber Darian Quilloy. The monster in question is known as "The mimic" and is far from being the only one. I and probably a lot more people here would suggest checking it out since its literally peak analog horror
hey fun fact for future lava trap endeavors! from bottom to top, cauldron, space, dripstone, one block, lava source block (you know, contained). The usual lava drip particles instead will drip down the dripstone and fill the cauldron, giving you another lava source block! Which you can then use to make the system a second time, again and again till you're making enough to get the job done. It' a SLOW process, so definitely make more than one system.

In the series it was stated that Mimics are able to shrink and enlarge their bodies, the reason for them shrinking their bodies is because if they get in someone's house, they shrink to be able to hide inside furniture. Even the bed frames.
