Any tips on making a custom catch can or oil tank with a MIG Justin? Such as technique and/or material for oil tight welds. I need to make an odd shape catch can for my race car...

Good stuff man! How about a "how to build a race car" series?

If someone brings in a race car and has the time for me to shoot the episode, I'll do it.

I literally made the same style tank a year ago out of aluminum for a 75 iron head with a rigid rear section

I love tin snips but I do find that Irwin Gilbow type ones work much better for straight cut than the aviation type ones (although they are hopeless at curves!)

I've tried them out once. I wasn't a fan haha. But whatever works best for you is what you should use.

The best DIY/home/shop welder out there that I have hands on with and will highly recommend is the Diversion 180. It will weld just about everything you throw at it. The Alpha TIG is nice and the new Lincoln squarewave is gaining popularity (though I have not run it yet). Just stick with a good name brand with a solid reputation. Avoid cheap welders.

    Great quick episode!
Did you pressure test the tank afterwords? If so, could you show you did that?
I did an aluminum radiator as my first real tig project a few weeks ago. Had to relocate the inlets and outlets, as well as delete the original fill neck and relocate it.
I used aluminum HVAC tape to seal off the holes, then a blow gun to add a little pressure, then soapy water to find the leaks. Success the first time!
Once I got it home, I realized I had a dedicated coolant pressure tester pump and tested the installed radiator to 20psi to verify.
I know there are many ways to skin a cat, and with it being a customers part, and the fact that finding out you have a leak after paint and oil is introduced would certainly be a painful lesson learned, so just curious how you tested.
    Keep the videos coming!

I have a bunch of fittings, plugs, and caps I use for pressure testing. All I do is plug the holes and submerge the tank after pressuring it up. Sometimes I use soapy water solution on bigger parts.
