Tank made some fantastic points. We need to set a criteria for what is classified as ‘R&B’ and be firm in our definition. Furthermore subcategories must be defined. Also, artists should keep pushing the envelope by collaborating and keeping the genre fresh. Overall, I think ‘R&B’ artists need to get more creative.

Yes Tank! Finally a good take! Stevie is the best musician of all time. He influenced MJ and Thriller. Then its MJ and Beyonce next when we talking over all Pop and R&B artists. Prince is top 5. But he was his own legend.
Prince was the closest to Stevie Wonder when it comes to musicianship. He was just as prolific as Stevie in terms of numbers of songs and albums during his lifetime. He was a one hand made man. He wrote, composed, produced , arranged the vast majority of his own catalog just like Stevie and he was a musical prodigy who could play over 25 different instruments just like Stevie. To me when it comes to actual musicians it's Stevland "Stevie" Hardaway Judkins from Saginaw, Michigan and Prince Rodgers Nelson from Minneapolis, Minnesota

There are too many songs & young talented artists who ain't getting the love or attention needed. R&B may not be dead but it's very disconcerting when good songs fly under the radar and talented musicians are getting little attention.
As usual great inner view of Tank. Prayers are up for his health! Also, I’m glad CTG didn’t know how to buy music because I didn’t either!! I usually just listen on RUclips! I bet a lot of people don’t know.
I'm not a Beyonce fan but I can admit she is probably the best singing female "ENTERTAINER," (and by entertaining, I mean dancing, performing and singing)BUT vocally there are several female artist that she comes 2nd to.
Millie Jackson, Tracy Chapman & Whoopi Goldberg can be taught to dance. Too much credit is given to dancing. Bland Vegas showgirls can do it. It's nothing.
Always a great conversation when Tank is a guest. R&B is my favorite kind of music but sometimes artists get a little Diva type attitudes so I’m guessing that’s why they don’t collaborate as much. You know R&B changing when Beyonce don’t drop visuals on top of visuals. She dropped music and the visuals are TBD 😩♥️
I really enjoy the conversation this morning, wish it could've went longer the only disappointment Tank said was about Prince. I love me some Prince. You can't compare Prince with Beyonce that's how I feel don't care if the Beyhive come for me
Noooo Beyoncé is not seeing Janet Jackson when it comes to performance! He even mentioned earlier how she's still doing it at her age! Give me Janet over Beyonce any day!
That's your opinion but Janet is really weak when it comes to the live VOCALS. Beyoncé is a culmination of great singing, dancing, choreography, stage presence/charisma, mystique + the costuming, stage production.....
Never liked the sound of Bey's voice even though she uses it well, plus her music just doesn't move me the way Janet's catalogue does. I too will take Janet over her any day. Beyonce is closer to my generation but it is what it is.
@@Moorsense7 I think Beyonce prides herself into being able to dance and sing fullout at the same time. She can concentrate more on the choreography and do everything Janet and Ciara does if she wanted but then that would take away from her vocals. I've heard her tell her choreographer before after seeing the steps "I have to sing this." Janet has to be a stellar performer because she's not a strong vocalist. Janet can't take a Coachella performance and turn it into a live album. I hope I get see Janet perform before she retires though.

Beyonce over Prince???? Even she wouldn't agree....
Depends on the age group you ask because 35 and up you can't tell then nothing about prince
Right!!!!
💯
Huh? I'm 38 and take The Purple One over Bey anyday!
Not sure she's pretty pretentious
r&b is not dead, i would say it’s evolving into something else that many people aren’t used to
There are too many songs & young talented artists who ain't getting the love or attention needed. R&B may not be dead but it's very disconcerting when good songs fly under the radar and talented musicians are getting little attention.
It’s dead
@@Jay-Kay-Buwembo Because most of the younger generation don't wanna hear no love songs
😂😂😂 I love you Tankkkkk he’s so genuine… he has this same personality in person ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank You Tank for speaking and allowing your fans to hear from you and you continue to build a platform or area for R&B. Very good points ❤️❤️❤️

I love Tank, he was speaking nothing but truth in this interview!
Nah we still LOVE real R&B, the females are it though rn, Ravyn Lenae, Ari Lennox, Cleo Blu, H.E.R., Jasmine Sullivan, etc.
Tank is following trends with his opinions! Beyoncé who I love, can’t touch Prince on a music level!!! Tank have a seat you being disrespectful
This was the most honest R&B conversation I have ever heard.
Yes indeed! Love ❤️ Tank! He showed out in Cincinnati. R&B will never die. Love to see you in movies again Tank. Bless you!
I Love Tank!! So Glad He's Back, Giving Us GOOD & GREAT R&B MUSIC
I really enjoy the conversation this morning, wish it could've went longer the only disappointment Tank said was about Prince. I love me some Prince. You can't compare Prince with Beyonce that's how I feel don't care if the Beyhive come for me
Beyonce would even disagree with Tank on that nonsense.
I 100% agree with you, Beyonce isn't on these geniuses level, Michael, Prince , Stevie most powerful entertainers and artist of all time.
@@valerieproctor7366 clearly she is
Anyone who thinks R&B is dead hasn’t heard Tank’s latest album or the way J Valentine killed his verse on Slow🔥🖤🖤🖤
Damn sho DID!!!DOA
“Am I worth 9.99?”
“Stand up let me see” 😂😂😂
I will watch every single interview that TANK does... he is soooo funny!!!
She's definitely a better performer than Janet. Janet just dances better. Cannot sing live at all.
Never liked the sound of Bey's voice even though she uses it well, plus her music just doesn't move me the way Janet's catalogue does. I too will take Janet over her any day. Beyonce is closer to my generation but it is what it is.
Yes Janet is a better performer. Beyoncé has stronger vocals but overall in my opinion can’t touch Janet.
Him and Chris B, takes it back and I was happy to hear Cb do something that sounds more ballad.❤️🔥
Prince probably heard Tank said something shady about him or maybe he hit on one of Prince women. The look 👀 was probably of disapproval. 🤣🤣👏🏽👏🏽
This is a great interview im only 25 minutes in & he's named all the people I've been listening to the past few years 💯. Been down with Tank since his first album, even got married to Tank's song " One man " because I told myself that's what I'm going to be to whom ever I marry.
I love Tanks interviews, he’s a great conversationalist
Taaank, you remember when you came to Rocky Mount Nc and I was standing on the chair singing allllllllllll your songs🥰🙌🏾
Love how Tank intellectually explains systemic racism in song charting! 🎉
Tank is one of my idols along with Ginuwine and Tyrese.... I hope they do another album together soon
Tank lying on Prince 🤣🤣🤣. RIP GENIUS 💜💜💜
