This would be the perfect shop truck! In 1984 I bought a new Mazda B 2000. Fanciest one you could get. %5,999.00 + $700 for aftermarket A/C and it didn't come with a stereo and no power steering. Charcoal grey, white wagon wheels and it had 5 white stripes along the bottom that I peeled off with a heat gun and painted the wheels charcoal grey. In the day it was a badass little truck. I like your ideas so far and maybe I'm just remembering my old truck, but I think it would be cool to dip the cab and bed or whatever they do now so that bed seam never rusts and paint it nice with 60s series tires. Just super clean, dependable and good mpg. My friend had an 83 Toyota short bed with a 22 R, It was charcoal grey too. Great trucks.

So much possibility 🤔... have fun with it. I have no doubt that once you see your vision it's going to look great in the end and everyone is going to enjoy seeing it all come together... That trans looks like a w50 to me. If the main case is cast iron and it has a different bell housing to trans bolt pattern than the w56/57/58 has I am pretty sure it is a w50. I might be wrong but it is a very good trans and it has a great reputation. I got one on accident as one of my 2wd hilux's came with a 4 speed and it had a w50 swapped in. Scored a 5 lug 8 inch axle, great trans, title, solid frame, and cab for pocket change! Made my day.

@@austinniemela they shift pretty smoothly and are stout. But there's a small chance it's a p51. Those use stainless steel synchros and are hella rare. Worth double checking but I would still use the trans in this truck. Should be able to check through a drain hole but knowing you will likely open it up to freshen bearings up anyway lol but that's good.
