  • TOP THINGS to do in BADLANDS NATIONAL PARK | How to spend ONE DAY in BADLANDS NATIONAL PARK
Welcome to my LAST and FINAL South Dakota Adventure! My last adventure is taking you to Badlands National Park!
Badlands National Park is located about an hour east of Rapid City, which makes it easily accessible for a day trip. This national park is 244,000 acres that provides dramatic landscapes of layered rock formations and these striking geological deposits contain one of the world's richest fossil beds! But this rugged terrain is not the only terrain throughout the park. Badlands also has a sprawling prairie land where bison, bighorn sheep, prairie dogs, and black-footed ferrets live today.
This rugged terrain with harsh weather conditions is how it got its name. Badlands was originally named by the Lakota Tribe. The Lakota called the Badlands, "Mako Sica,” which translates to Land Bad. This beautiful terrain attracts visitors from around the world year round. So the question is, Is Badlands National Park on your bucket list?

Kayla - I stumbled across this video / your channel today. GREAT JOB with this production! (I'm researching EQ add-ins to reduce wind noise) BUT - I like the way you shot and edited this. Good mix of raw footage and music... It can be a PAIN, right?? THANK YOU!

Have you seen anyone camping at the prairie dog area. Would be a fun spot to camp. I love all small and furry animals.

We did not. There are two areas to feed the prairie dogs and they can also be seeing throughout the park. So depending on where you camp, there is a possibility that you will see a prairie dog or two!
