  • How to get your Beagle Pup flying again. The Beagle Pup aircraft was produced in England between about 1968 (when the Prototype first flew) and the early 1970's when the last few were assembled from remaining production parts. In total there were 177 produced before the company closed due to lack of operating funds, with an additional order book numbering over 200 aircraft. G-AXJO is CN (Construction number) 094 and first flew in 1969.
There are many reasons why aircraft become stuck in hangars or on airfileds and the task of getting them airworthy again can seem at best daunting...or even impossible. But it need not be.This video is a quick introduction to this one active project. If you have a grounded Beagle - Pup or Bulldog - the Club is here to help.
I hope you enjoy this brief intro - look out for more!

Hello Michael. Nice intro, and this should be worth a watch as you go on. Quite a big task after a six year period on the ground. Hopefully the hangar was dry, as the biggest concern probably as you'll know is going to be corrosion. Obviously I have no idea what you are expecting to find and how deep the pockets are of the restorer, but an engine sat idle for this amount of time is unlikely to be in good shape, unless it has been properly preserved. The airframe also is going to need a good look at, and you will know how good spares availability on these types is or is not. Wishing you the best of luck with your project. looking forward to following along!

    Hello @EtiRats,
Good to hear from you and thank you for leaving a very thoughtful and understanding comment!
I don’t want to give too much away, as that will be the subject of the next and future episodes 👍 However you have touched on many relevant points, and we are constantly finding ways to fund the restoration with Yorkshireman shallow pockets!
Watch out for the next episode and I’m looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Michael.
