I didn't think they'd be able to follow "After the Party." It's one of my all-time favorite albums, it has songs that take me back to places a thousand miles away and back to a different lifetime. "After the Party" is undoubtedly one of the best albums I've ever heard and I didn't think The Menzingers could ever again touch greatness the way they did with that one. Then they started dropping singles from "Hello Exile," and I found myself in that unique, wonderful position of hearing my new favorite songs for the first time. I haven't heard a single song from this album that I HAVEN'T loved right off the bat. The Menzingers' spot as my favorite band is officially solidified.
[Verse 1] Hurtling toward the earth Set the atmosphere on fire We'll put another notch in the kuiper Climb down from the trees to die from a disease Brought back from the dead by the liars [Refrain] I don't mind, I'll stay behind [Verse 2] Transmission in static, the silent monastic Exiled to an island of plastic Waiting on translation, the fool's coronation A permanent summer vacation [Pre-Chorus] I don't mind, I'll stay behind [Chorus] Set a course for the sun To bittersweet oblivion The time has come, the rain has gone Back to hell where we belong [Verse 3] The games we've been playing The real estate is changing The mountains and rivers to lake beds Concrete to dust Iron to rusted statues reign over the ocean [Pre-Chorus] I don't mind, I'll stay behind [Chorus] Set a course for the sun To bittersweet oblivion The time has come, the rain has gone Back to hell where we belong [Outro Chorus] Set a course for the sun To bittersweet oblivion The time has come, the rain has gone Back to hell where we belong
Underrated band.

I said the same thing about On the Impossible Past before After the Party came out. Learning to stop doubting what they can do
that's valid, but i actually think that album is the in the middle near the least fav for me! I love the bars from that album tho! and house on fire.
[Verse 1]
Hurtling toward the earth
Set the atmosphere on fire
We'll put another notch in the kuiper
Climb down from the trees to die from a disease
Brought back from the dead by the liars
[Refrain]
I don't mind, I'll stay behind
[Verse 2]
Transmission in static, the silent monastic
Exiled to an island of plastic
Waiting on translation, the fool's coronation
A permanent summer vacation
[Pre-Chorus]
I don't mind, I'll stay behind
[Chorus]
Set a course for the sun
To bittersweet oblivion
The time has come, the rain has gone
Back to hell where we belong
[Verse 3]
The games we've been playing
The real estate is changing
The mountains and rivers to lake beds
Concrete to dust
Iron to rusted statues reign over the ocean
[Pre-Chorus]
I don't mind, I'll stay behind
[Chorus]
Set a course for the sun
To bittersweet oblivion
The time has come, the rain has gone
Back to hell where we belong
[Outro Chorus]
Set a course for the sun
To bittersweet oblivion
The time has come, the rain has gone
Back to hell where we belong
It’s been a pleasure reading all the lyrics. Thank you once again
Pinche rolon, aguante The Menzingers!! 🤘🏽🇲🇽
You can sing the chorus of no penance over this which is pretty cool
Is Strawberry Mansion still a bad neighborhood, when I lived in Philly it was pretty rough despite the name?
