Don't rip my head off but, I think some of Tim's attitude towards the lyrics and the singer (from previous interviews) is one of the reasons he viewed Michael as just the singer and in my opinion undervalued Michael's contribution to INXS. It is always Andrew that will remind people that Michael was an integral force of the group, including the visual style, lyrics, and he was the one that did touch every single piece of music. It all started with Michael and Andrew. Some of the things Tim mentioned in the second clip, are some of the things Michael described in early interviews in the 80's. Sometimes I wonder, if Tim placed more value on Michaels role in the band, maybe they would have looked after their golden goose. It seems like, he is disconnected or doesn't want to state the obvious, that Michael was such a key figure and the face of INXS and the band could not exist without him.

trex pixx I so agree, infact I wrote that this guy had some nerve saying Michael flirting with everyone, in one breathe he said not in his rite mind cos of Prozac , yes I agree Prozac & alcohol equals suicide, so I don’t believe he flirted with everyone & Michael was so hott can get any model he wanted but went with that u tube blonde that wasn’t much but I can c the chemistry as she was head over heels for him. Michael always flashed that peace sign he wanted peace in his life, loved his daughter, but the human take so much especially when ur a sensitive person. Michael u was a great smokin front man singer, R.I.P. Michael 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️

well he did say essentially lyrics don't matter and he doesn't care about them which is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard a musician say. I thought he was a sharp guy but it's true that INXS would've been nothing without Michael.

@@nickcarroll5034 You know after all this time, my opinion has not changed. One thing I learned in the Mystify documentary about Michael was that, not only did he write the lyrics, he also wrote all the melodies. That is pretty damn important! Is there another "non musical singer" that does that? 😁

@@trexpixx4590 After watching that footage of Michael and Andrew Farriss write Mystify, I have also wondered how many melodies came from Michael's head, with Andrew Farriss merely interpreting them into notes for keyboard or guitar, not to say that other hooks such as in Need You Tonight didn't come from Andrew. Some other things that make me wonder the extent of Michael's true contribution are the original way he re-phrased the vocals in cover versions The Loved One and Born To Be Wild - and the lack of hits INXS have had since Micahel's death.
