  • The Phillies are finally home after a grueling 20-game stretch in which they played 14 on the road, including two in London, three in San Francisco, three in Colorado and six in the AL East. The Phillies lost two of three over the weekend in Baltimore, which culminated in Rob Thomson getting ejected in Sunday’s series finale. It was the angriest anybody has ever seen the typically mild-mannered Canadian, who astutely picks and chooses his spots to send messages to his players.
The Phillies played 10 of their next 13 games at home, and fans are likely to see a different lineup. First, Trea Turner is expected to be activated today. Signs point to Johan Rojas getting optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Is it the right time to option Rojas? How do the Phillies handle center field? How do they handle left? If Rojas is optioned, does it increase the likelihood that Dave Dombrowski finds an outfielder before the July 30 trade deadline?

There is still lag from the UK series. They will play better against the Padres, but really they just need a true day off to relax and reenergize. The UK series should be played right before the All Star break so that no team is really “hurt” by the travel.

With JT, and Trea in, and Wheeler pitching normal, they 💯 beat the Orioles.. Book it..

It's laughable that everyone is blaming Rojas for OF production when Canthitellanos has a lower BA, lower OBP, and only 11 more RBIs (with 101 more PA). Isn't he "paid to hit baseballs"?

Casty is paid a lot to hit baseballs and the expectations are he’ll bounce back. He was incredible early in the playoffs last year.
Rojas on the other hand was severely overmatched in playoffs and has regressed now that there is solid scouting data.
Phillies have a lot of bats that can stack the line up Rojas is not one of them at the moment.
There are a lot of options in center for them to improve their line up

Fully to blame, no. But Rojas flat isn't and will never be good enough..

Eh I dunno about never. But when you have the options the Phillies have currently it’s hard to make a case for him to start in center at the moment.
Turner played some good CF for the Nats while he was there. And Sosa has been playing well. We saw Mookie make a change to better the team who knows.

The Phillies have been suffering a lot of bad strike/ball calls recently. Certainly hasn’t helped over the past week.

Honestly, Rojas simply is just like every other normal fast defensive CF. Just bring up Kingery

And yet Rojas has a better BA and OBP than the guy that's "paid to hit baseballs", that same guy only has 11 more RBIs with 101 more PAs. And Scotty will never see the majors with the Phillies, they wrote him off after fuqn up his swing. Dude could be starting for a fair number of teams right now imo.

@SwampGator My point is, Fast - good Defense CF are all over the majors, and minors. Scott deserves to start on the Phillies. While Johan we can simply swap any player on any team with their number 9 hitter lol

@@seanguzy9601 Fair enough, I've always thought we never gave Scott a fair go. I was quite worried they were going to do the same thing with Bryson. Fortunately, we've got a different management team now and that didn't happen.

Great show fellas! Just a rough patch recently. Chance to right the ship tonight. I'm sure Trea being back will give them some juice. And you know the CBP crowd will help.
