Always check the baggage allowance for any flight you take, regardless of this is in Asia or North America or Europe. They will always if there's a charge for carry-on or checked luggage, and what the weight limitations are. Also if you do have to pay for a luggage fees, it's best to do so before your flight ahead of time on the website you save money that way. This is especially important for low-cost carriers that charge you very little for your actual plane tickets. they make their money on seat selection and luggage fees.
Thank you for your comments and yes, we’ll definitely work out the luggage piece before hand. They made their money on us that day, but it was a lesson learned for sure! Thanks for watching and have a good day! ~TV Travels
We so agree with you! We paid $175 US for two tickets and missed that you had to pay for the baggage allowance in advance. We were so upset but the moment we landed in Phuket and saw how beautiful it was, we forgot all bout it. Lesson learned! Thank you for watching and if you haven’t already, we would love to have you as a subscriber! Have a good day! ~Tony and Vanessa
Keep in mind that drivers like these are paying the hotel to park there, so that hotel guests will use them,, so that is part of the 800 thb quote. Then the 100 thb toll on the motorway to the airport, and they have to drive back to the hotel without picking up passengers, since they are not a taxi or Grab driver. It is up to you to use them or not. You could have stood in front of the hotel and flagged a regular taxi in the street. Tell them you want you go to the airport using the taxi meter, and that you will pay for the motorway tolls. I don't know where your hotel is located, but the metered fare is often 300 thb or more to the airport from the Sukhumvit area (or from the airport). High traffic hours takes longer, and can cost more. I live here and I that's what I do. When taking a taxi from a Bangkok airport, ask the taxi driver to use the meter. Explain clearly that you will pay for any motorway tolls (make sure you have Thai money in your pocket). If he is a "good guy", you can give him a tip at the end of the trip. Also plan ahead and avoid the rookie mistake of not having small denomination bills to pay the driver. Don't just hand him a 1000thb note for a 265thb ride. They don't carry around change for that. You can get change for a 1000thb note at the motorway toll booths by paying the toll with the note. Then you are in good shape for the rest of the trip. Cheers
Thank you for the suggestion and we’ll try the meter approach the next time. We enjoy hearing from the locals and love Bangkok! We were actually in a condo and the drivers were conveniently located across the street. And good to know that the toll booths can give you change for larger bills. We appreciate you watching and please share our channel and subscribe if you haven’t already. Have a good day! ~TV Travels
Coming in from USA in August, have air Asia flight booking. Watching your video, I think i just saved over $400. I was heading into making the same mistake. Thank you.
This makes us so happy and one of the many reasons why we love sharing our travels! Sometimes you have to learn the hard way but glad we could help you avoid that mistake. We were devastated at first but forget once we got to Phuket - LOL! Thank you so much for watching and if you haven’t already, we would be so grateful if you would subscribe and share our channel. Have a wonderful time in August and stay tuned for more content! Hope you had a nice weekend! ~Tony and Vanessa
Pro Tip, only fly with Carry on. No luggage goes missing, no extra charges. IN warm climates you don't need much to travel. I used laundromats in my Cancun videos. Can't wait to visit Thailand.
Thanks for sharing! We usually try to pack light and use carry ons but when we’re gone for longer periods, we pack a little more. And yes, laundromats are awesome! We go to Puerto Vallarta a few times a year and found that wash and fold laundry services does a great job, too. We appreciate you watching and thank you for sharing your thoughts! ~TV Travels
perhaps could be a bit cheaper to see if the hotel you were staying allowed you to store your luggage for small changes pretty sure cheaper than $460 cause you have to come back to BKK anyways, only take what you need to phuket
Thank you for watching! It was something we wished was available but we were in a condo and flew out of Phuket to another country. The $460 was a hard lesson learned and we will definitely explore your suggestion if we stay at a hotel in the future. We love hearing from our viewers, so we appreciate you engaging with us. If you haven’t subscribed already, please do. Thanks again for watching and have a good day! ~Tony and Vanessa
Ha! Air Asia is comedy. Cheap flights but not so much the first time when you understand the luggage policy. Once you get on the flight it turns into flying SevenEleven. Glad you made it! The only problem is I'm hungry forThai food now damn it!
It was definitely a learning experience. Like you said, cheap at first but now we know about the luggage policy. Thanks for your comments and for watching! Thai food is amazing! Please feel free to share our channel and subscribe. We love hearing from our viewers! ~Tony and Vanessa
I really want to see you guys go to the local flea market at night. I want to see you guys eat flea market food and give reviews. I hope you'll listen and have clips only about street food because when I watch you guys eat, I get hungry. immediately🤣🙏🏻🇹🇭💕
You’ll be happy to know that we just posted a night market video, so is you haven’t seen it already, please check it out. We agree with you! The night markets are the best. We love the food, atmosphere, and people. Thailand is awesome! Thanks for watching and if you haven’t done so already, please subscribe and turn on the notification bell. We have more night market/food content to come. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

@@tvtravelsonyoutube Of course i am here for the support, love your videos and keep on the good work. Macedonia for you, I believe it will be a great and unforgettable experience. We definitely added Macedonia to the list! And we love talking to our viewers as well as meeting our viewers! We’ll have to stay in touch. Please subscribe and share. Have a wonderful day! ❤️
It definitely is cheaper when compared to some restaurants. Also, very good and we love the atmosphere. Thank you for watching and please subscribe. We have more videos to come and appreciate you engaging with us. Hope you had a nice weekend!
The whole experience was a lesson learned for us to always check the baggage policy in advance. We usually travel with no more than two checked bags each during long travel stints. However, when we go back to the Philippines to visit family, we sometimes have more to bring. That’s where we were prior to and it’s customary to bring gifts and things from the US for family and friends. But it can get expensive! We appreciate you watching and thank you for your comments. Hope you have a wonderful day! ~TV Travels

Yes, you are correct and thank you for the clarification. The was still amazing and reasonably priced. It’s always helpful when the locals say the same thing. @@tvtravelsonyoutube yes those places with michelin guide makes amazing food. Im not 100% sure about this but i think they only gives michelin stars to Fancy expensive restaurants. so small places like this can only get michelin guides? Anyways it makes sense if that is the case.. And yes i will subscribe 👍
After you mentioned the guide, I did some research and you’re right again. The guide is for less expensive places but still very tasty and great quality. This was one of the best meals we had and compared to the US, so much cheaper. Again, thank you for letting us know about Michelin. We love engaging with our awesome viewers like you. $460 extra for 60 kg in excess of the weight allowance is outrageous. That's $7.57 per kilogram.
