Just tested it and it’s the same. Gets a little above 1700Mbps. Nowhere close to what the others can do

Assume I have 1gb internet connected straight to this router and was getting close to 1gb standing beside the router wireless with my wifi 7 phone and I went up a floor in my house and only got 500mbs (50% loss) wirelessly with this system on my phone using WIFI 7- does that mean that if I had 200mbs internet I would only get 100mbs upstairs - same 50% loss using the same phone wirelessly?

You didn't share enough info, is that wireless or wired speed? are you still using the default ISP router? share some more info sir unless someone experienced the same thing as you we are just guessing here

if you're able to get 500mbps previously, with 200mbps you definitely can get the same as well, because 500mbps was the max you got at the time of testing, you can use the app wifi analyzer to find out the network speed between the router and your device, example, networkspeed=500mbps, you can get around 3-400+mbps

@@roryniland Well, Wi-Fi speed always decreases when the signal is degraded. But think of it this way: at the spot where you tested the Wi-Fi speed on the upper floor, your router was able to transmit 500 Mbps. So, if you think 1 Gbps is too fast and want to downgrade your connection-presumably to save money-your speed likely won’t be cut by 50% at that same spot.
However, this assumes nothing else changes. In my country, the router is replaced when upgrading to a certain speed, but I’m not sure if your ISP will replace your router if you downgrade.
