  • This video, Luke and Joe do a side-by-side comparison on the current 80 lb bows we have at the shop. Looking at draw cycle, speed and efficiency, they pick apart their preferences between these 3 great bows. Consider for the speed testing: Revolt x80 @ 79lbs, EVO EVL @ 79lbs, and the Athens @ 76lbs. Add 6-9 fps for all the readings from the Athens for a more accurate comparison.

Great video! After shooting Joe's evl now I'm hooked and just had to pump up my nxt33 to 80, can't wait for the limbs to come in!
And I do agree the x80's front half of the draw seemed especially harsh (at least to me) and it seemed like form was more important for drawing than shooting (my back wasn't a happy camper after that one) i do see the appeal of the x80 and im sure people will love it.
    Keep up the great vids!!

Your shop is putting out some of the best youtube content out there.
Like globally... The armpit hair added some much needed "cringe"
I was only able to draw your X80 once... It shot a bullet though.
Front loading is for real on #80lb.
I don't know whether I am more excited about Ozark season 3...
Or Evan, eventually making it into one of the videos.
Can I pre order Evan themed Merch...
Ohio Premiere Archery is One of 2 shops in the country, I would buy a bow at.
    Keep up the great work.

I absolutely Love my revolt x80. with it at 82~ and 31 inch draw it launches my 720 grain arrows at 265 fps in performance mode. I went from shooting hoyt and not being a fan of their draw cycles at all to bowtech and I can't put it down

You guys should do a video on shooting form. It would be a solid addition to the channel.

Drawing more weight, i.e. 80lbs, is the most practical variable someone can change to gain more speed and extend their range. You could build a lighter arrow, but this becomes less efficient and ethical. So people, be it man or woman, who have shorter, sub 28" draw lengths, may opt to shoot a heavier poundage bow to attain that speed and efficiency and extend their range and allow them to shoot a little heavier (6.3-7.2 grains per pound draw weight) and more efficient and ethical arrow weight.

      @brokenarrow6491 2 года назад +1

Not necessarily true. Shooting a lighter arrow can be extremely ethical. It depends on what you are shooting and how far you are shooting them. I killed a whitetail with a 30 pound recurve at 22 yards when I was 11and shot through the deer. Whitetails are extremely thinned skinned and are very easy to kill. I blow through everything with a lighter arrow and a 71 lb Ibo bow on whitetails. If you match your broadhead style and size with your setup you can have a whitetail killing machine with today's bows.

I just can't understand why so many average type deer and hog hunters think they need 80# bow. It's just not worth it as far as killing game in America. A 60# bow with a 450 grain fixed blade will blow thru and elk

Draw cycles are definitely shooter dependent. My son in law draws the X80 as smooth as a 60 pound wheel bow.

80 pound bow in comfort setting? Kind of defeats the purpose. Great video, guess I need to start working out cause 74 already feels heavy.

Cool vlog but I really don't understand why you need to shoot 80lbs. To me I think that your just trying to show off that you can pull it when I saw in the video that it looks like that you were struggling to pull. Why not just shoot something more comfortable like your 70lbs would make more sense it's not how much draw weight you pull it comes down to shot placement on the animal. This vlog is just showing that you are trying to show off that you can pull 80lbs when again not necessary. I hope that you would reconsider dropping your draw weight. Have a great day boys
