Thanks for saving my time 😂. I'd look forward to real news on Dreamchaser but really resent a repeat of the same information presented only a few days ago, something this channel is repeatedly guilty of. That's why I regularly only get a few seconds of episodes on this channel. Hopefully that is reflected in their channel metrics.
The process of returning Dragon to NASA HQ slows down the handling of Sceintific research. I argue the bureaucracy is wwhat slows down the handling of Sceintific research.
The historical tie-ins, like the BOR-4 and HL-20, showcase how much we’ve learned from past designs. Dreamchaser feels like the next natural step forward.
The funny thing is the space shuttle was never over its original budget. The Federal Budgetary Office lowered the budget months before the announcement of the shuttle retirement. So the retirement was political NOT financial. Like EVERY program that would expand our space exploration. So the question you need to ask is, IS THIS plane really advanced??? Or is it the recent iteration that the politicians will allow?
0:35 "...while the program had become too complex and costly to maintain..." You mean, "...NASA could no longer hide the fact that the Shuttle was a death trap..."
Keep the cargo module. With each new module after use attached to the previous module with the 1st remaining attached to the station and the last module capped using bulkhead.
It remains to be seen how affective Dream Chaser will be. The front skid is an issue for a lot of landing strips even if they are long enough. It's not clear how DC can compete with Starship with the next generation space stations. In addition, Sierra Space picked the wrong launch partner, or they would have been launched by now.
Anyways, I am glad to see NASA looking into more reusable methods of transportation. The shuttle showed some promise, but I was disappointed when they made another throwaway rocket for the new moon landings. I keep writing that they need to be more initiative like Spacex is. I am glad that NASA is moving in that direction.
Dream Chaser is ready but it's launch vehicle is not. Vulcan still has to go through one more shake down and NG needs to fix the boosters before they can fly.
It's interesting that nobody ever took interest in the 90% complete X38 v201 that sits unused and Johnson Space center. European partners were so angered at its cancellation. They intended to modify it for their first crewed vehicle, but they apparently did not want to invest in its continued development.
you're comparing apples to oranges, Mac trucks are superior for hauling freight across the country but a motorcycle can go to the corner market for a fraction of the cost, a small fraction. they're also a superior reentry vehicle for humans, they are a valuable contribution to the space program that will play an important role in the near future
The only problem I see is the space plane will need another vehicle to be able to reach escape velocity, which is Mach 33 (25,320 MPH) and the support vehicle will not be reusable, so not entirely reusable.
though something like dream chaser is sorely needed, sierra nevada corporation doesn't seem to be in all that much of a hurry to get it into service...
Why would anybody use such old technology when Starship is available ? the launch booster is single use which drives the cost per kilo sky high. Not to mention Falcon heavy. This is way too little, way roo late. A doomed effort.
Of course there are some advantages to having Dream Chaser operational in its current form. However, is Dream Chaser gonna get the things needed to build an infrastructure on the Moon? Nope, that's the correct answer. I'll be impressed with any spaceplane when it can haul a large 100 ton backhoe to the lunar surface. Other than that, it's just another vehicle that has a niche to fill.
It is an exciting new spacecraft, but it would be more affordable if it went up a reusable rocket, instead of Vulcan. Disposable rocketry is a dead science.
Ain't going to work unless they use maglev a cut down star lifter length ways engine left in place wings cut down don't need em, turn table with six units ready to fly, mountain from flat ground to forty-five degrees , three minutes flight time, habitat up in a day tug and spare fuel up day two three, low fuel load bigger payload, they are only going one way not coming back, day four five taxi up for return, simple really.
This is all fine and dandy , but this is taking along time and the spacecraft is small . What defense does this spacecraft have to prevent this from landing in China 🇨🇳. The Chinese were instrumental in forcing the CIA drone to land in Iran during the debacle in Afghanistan. The Chinese and the Persians were able to obtain a quantum leap into technology because the CIA was so incompetent
Well, let’s see if this thing can be reusable like SPACEX vehicles more than 15 times. HUNDREDS of round trips with a reliability rate well above 99.99995 percent will be required to go beyond the moon. It would be interesting to see how long it would take to get a fleet of these to transport to the moon via a mother vehicle and then round trip from the vehicle to the moon’s surface to quickly develop a launchpad and habitation facilities to make the next jump to Mars easier for all involved. Working across all the companies, NASA could facilitate a helluva program to rapidly expand our ability to get to the next level before the big jump to another solar system, etc.
The problem with this plane...it will face the same expensive problems the shuttle did. The dream chaser will also face the same problem any other reentry craft faces, such as the heat shield problems....the only good thing it has over the shuttle is it is protected during launch...I hope them the best...but as long as it depends on another company to launch it...then it is a limited to their schedules
Too much repeating the same thing during the video dragging it on
feels like You have a point..and isn't the whole first half a reuse of a vid from four days ago..?!?🤔
I hate it so much in video's. Almost like ai generated bs

So glad to see spaceplanes back. Landing on parachutes is so 60s.. wish them the best

What a nice little story to make you fall asleep 😴
The historical tie-ins, like the BOR-4 and HL-20, showcase how much we’ve learned from past designs. Dreamchaser feels like the next natural step forward.
Yes😆
" Yes" I'm excited to see its launch and return to Earth to see how it performs.. It should be fascinating..
cant wait to fly one of those things

NASA should contract with SpaceX to launch it. Otherwise it might never get off the ground.
Yes

"...while the program had become too complex and costly to maintain..."
You mean, "...NASA could no longer hide the fact that the Shuttle was a death trap..."
Yeah!
I hope it doesn’t go through a wormhole on its first flight!
Farscape is just several levels above most other sci-fi shows till now.
They call it a space plane but isn't it just a re-entry vehicle that glides?
Keep the cargo module. With each new module after use attached to the previous module with the 1st remaining attached to the station and the last module capped using bulkhead.

I don't knw if Dream Chazer by ULA will launch on May, 2025.
Who knows, maybes❗️
14:04 Yes.
14:45 White-sands New Mexico?

Yes!
I honestly think that snc will have reverance ready to fly before they have refurbished tenacity ready for it's second mission
Yeah! Of courses
It’s NOT NASA’S space plane. It belongs to Sierra Space
Considering SpaceX quick turnaround, six months seems like a long time between flights.
Its never going to leave earths orbit!!!
Better than Starship😂😂😂😂.
When this thing can carry 200 metric tons, we will revisit that comment.
Dream Chaser is ready but it's launch vehicle is not. Vulcan still has to go through one more shake down and NG needs to fix the boosters before they can fly.
And quite simply selecting ULA for a launch vehicle is a mistake
Nice video, thanks for sharing & Godspeed! Alleluia! Amen!
Is it just me or does this video go over the same information multiple times?
I mean... longer videos more money? Alot of repeating...

Does anyone remember how the six million dollar man got his bionic eye?
I guess the idea of fueling and repairing satellites in space is out the window
This thing is a complete joke compared to Starship.

dude please. nearly 2 billion wasted on this and maintenence + launches will be as much. Massive waste of money and resource.
Meanwhile the USAF has been operating the X-37B since 2010.
If starships reaches useability level what use does this plane have?
It would be in the small market of rockets like rocket lab electron
The only problem I see is the space plane will need another vehicle to be able to reach escape velocity, which is Mach 33 (25,320 MPH) and the support vehicle will not be reusable, so not entirely reusable.
congratulations dream chaser, you will go to space. I really wish you would not turn back and continue to follow your dream.
Boeing made that
I think elon gave nasa the idea for the Dream Chaser
though something like dream chaser is sorely needed, sierra nevada corporation doesn't seem to be in all that much of a hurry to get it into service...
Go USA
yes
it would be in space except contract to Space launch systems sold out
Good Video, a bit too wordy.
Thank you for your reminder! I will note this!

A reupload without identifying it as such in the title. Shame on you ALPHA TECH.
But Kennedy doesn't want that nose scrape touching down on their pristine runway.
The s--called Space Plane design is very similar to Burt Rutan Space lifeboat for the ISS. NASA wouldn't steal Burt Rutan idea?
I'll believe it when it happens. 🙄
So much fluff.
So little content

Oh the star lifter is just an aircraft carrier, brakes on rocket gone starlifter roll back load next unit, rock and roll.
NASA working with RUSSIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NUTTSSS!!!!!!!!!
bad
What a joke! Abolish the embarrassing NASA/Boeing money pit...
