Thank you for showing us how to do this! I have a few dresses that I've only worn once or twice because my waist measurement changes a lot. I always wanted to try converting some of them to a lace up back. I will definitely try this once I'll get a sewing machine. Also that dress was absolutely beautiful and I loved the pastel blue and pink combo ❤
I recently had a dress altered to a corset back but they only did a 2 inch panel which still made the dress unusable as it didn't cover my back fully. Thank you so much for this simple tutorial using a rectangle of fabric and only sewing the top edge of one seam. Definitely giving this a try.
Thank you sooooo muchhhhhh! I'm altering my sister's dress since we couldn't find the design she wanted in her size so I've been trying to find a tutorial. This is straight to the point and easy to understand.
salamat Ate Lani , follower mo ako and super marami ako natutunan sa iyo and very close ang puso ko sa mga OFW dahil Mother ko po is dating OFW din 🙏🙏🙏
Firstly, the dress you made is stunning! Thank you for so so many tips and the lesson. I don’t know if I have the skill to pull it off, but I might just try it. I’ll watch it step by step as I go. The way you edit your videos is also excellent, so good job on that. I’d really like to improve my sewing skills and I know watching your videos will really help. I will say that at times the music is so loud that I can’t hear what your saying, so please turn that down just a little. But I’m really so impressed with your great sewing skills. Thanks so very much!
I love how detailed you explained things. Gusto ng anak ko corset style yung wedding dress niya at naloloka ako sa pag execute ng request niya dahil walang allowance for corset yung damit niya. So happy to find your channel. You have a very grateful new subscriber. I’ll be implementing your techniques for the corset conversion for sure! PS. Hanga ako sa foot pedal control mo sa sewing machine. I had to convert my clutch motor to a servo motor dahil mabigat ang paa ko. 😭😭😭
Hi Ms. Beth , warms my heart to read your comment 🙏 masaya ako na may natutulunngan ako sa mga tutorials ko kahit papaano🙏 Maraming salamat sa suporta 🙏🙏🙏
This is so helpful! I am pregnant and have a formal dress that needs to fit but I’m still growing. Will make this change so I can wear it comfortably. Great job. Also, that floral fabric or embellishment is beautiful.
This is very similar to what I’m doing now with my grandaughter’s prom gown and the fabric is also satin and powder blue in color like the one you have altered. . It was kind of tight for her and she wanted this corset type in the back. Good job!
Thank you for sending this link to my IG. I’m in love with your work already😍 attaching the loop to the zipper is such a brilliant idea and that technique for the narrow hem my god it blows my mind😍one day I hope I can make gown as well. Ang Ganda nito! Perfect! Love this tutorial.thank you!keep sharing Po. More power and god bless!

I've been following you for a while po and I just have to say how happy I am to have found your channel!!! Your tutorials are so clear and easy to follow plus each one is full of super useful tips I would've never imagined on my own! Thank you for sharing your craft with us!
Great video, I got some good tips. I need to change a flower girl dress.... because of Covid, the wedding is next Nov and the dress fits the 5 yrs old perfectly now!! Just curious why you keep the zipper in? Because you can zip up as necessary & lace the rest??
Did you leave the bottom of the zipper in place? Can I do that and just sew off the top of the zipper that is left before the loops start? Thank you very much!
I'm sorry if I just missed it, but did you sew the other side of the added panel into the dress? Or just the top of the one side? This tutorial is perfect by the way, the most helpful I've found by far!
Do you have a tutorial po for narrow hemming using hemming foot na circular cut? Sobrang hirap po maperfect ng circular skirt hehe baka po may mashre kayong techniques ❤️❤️
Would this be a good solution for a wedding dress that just can't quite get zipped up all the way? Because of covid, my area is in a stay at home order till the end of May and I can't get an alterations appointment until mid June and my wedding is mid July lol so its really cutting things close. My dress has a ton of bead work that will have to be taken out and re beaded if its taken out at the sides. My dress is only slightly too small so it needs to come out by about an inch. The only person doing alterations is charging an arm and a leg for the work which I understand because its labour intensive. But I'd love to find a solution that would cut the part out of having to unbead everything.
This is a wonderful tutorial! Thank you so much! I can’t seem to find a jacket zipper foot anywhere online. Does anyone know where I can get one (or if it has another name)?
Thank you too Emily 🙏 Sometimes when im too lazy to change my foot to a jacket zipper, I just use the regular one, you can also use your invisible zipper if you want the stitches a bit closer to the zip. teeth
Hola. No entiendo como se cose o sostiene la tela entre medio de las argollitas. Le hizo una costura de un lado en la base de las argollas y el otro extremo??
Hi Jon, yung vintage dress form nabili ko lmg from an old lady na retired from US. Try Pins & Needle sa FB , meron silang pang professional dress form.
hi Patricia , tbh sis more than 20 years old na itong flat iron ko from my Aunt... mga unang model na na-release ng Hanabishi... mabigat sya as in... which i love dahil no need na mag-effort sa pag-press. Im not sure kung mabibigat parin yung mga bagong gawa nila. most of the plantsa kasi ngayun.. magagaan. Bili ka ng something mabigat kahit secondhand... if youre into dressmaking.
I’m doing my daughters dress is too tight so I’m going to put a hook on top and keep back open and leave zipper at waist only so it’s like a long key hole back

Hi Cen. Where is your shop located in the Philippines?

Hello! Saan niyo po nabili yung ruler niyo? :)
Hi Madelaine , yung Grading Ruler ? Check mo ang Manila Fashion Supplies 😊 meron silang FB page.

Bhe ano po ung gamit mo foot edge, doon sa lining mo rply plss....
yung po ba sa may back covering? Narrow Hemmer Foot po tawag
Ay salamat po! 😘😘
I am trying to understand how many inches from the waist you had cut your skirt to make room for a zipper and hips wide...
Hi Liliana , I usually cut it 8" from waist , but if my client is on the plus size , I do 9" to 10"
The distance between each loop was half inch? Didn’t get that part
Yes thats right half inch 👍
@@TheSewistbyCen Thank you so much
