Hi guys, I'm from the highlands but I've lived on Rhodes for 15 years. I just came across your channel this evening, and subscribed. All the best with your nice little house.
Hi Stewart! Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! Sounds like you’ve lived in some gorgeous places, we love the highlands and have visited Inverness and surrounding areas a few times over the past couple of years.
Appreciate the kind words man. Looking forward getting stuck back into it all and looking forward to some different content over the winter. Hope the family are well and the adventure planning is going well!
Hi guys, love your videos,I'm so pleased that friend of yours pushed you into making them,he must have seen your potential. Great video this week as always, you both look great ❤
I hope you used lime renderìng and not cement. Lime allows the stonework to breath, cement holds in the moisture. A hard lesson I learned! Great video keep them coming.
We used Duro stick as recommended in the DIY store but I’ve no idea if it was lime based. I will check when we are there next! Appreciate the advice and kind words 🙏
Thank you Sonia! Yes, looking forward to another visit followed by a winter of planning and then a huge spring getting more work done! Hope all is good and have an amazing week too! 💙
Hello again! I hopped off the snake-thread 😀 I just wanted to add that I have you guys to thank for a sudden new interest in the island of Zakynthos. The only thing I used to know about Z was that beach with the shipwreck, but thanks to you I have started to look into possible hotels for vacation. And another funny thing. My youngest daughter´s best friend just went to Greece on holiday with her family. Turns out they´ve gone to Zakynthos! To a place called Laganás. And they recommend it!👍It has been a looong time since I was in Greece and it might have been Crete, but next time maybe it´ll be Zakynthos!
Hey! No problem at all! It’s great to hear that you’ve found a new interest in the island, we know exactly how you feel. There is something very magical about Zakynthos. Let us know if you decide to book a vacation there! Laganas is the busy part of the island where the young people like to hang out, there is a lovely little island nearby called Cameo Island, did they check that out?
Well done, my Greek step parents own a villa on the island of Rhodes. As an officer in the RCN I’ve had lots of chances to use it wife my family while stationed in Europe. The way of life is so different from the hustle and bustle of North America, if I had my way we would retire there. Unfortunately my wife doesn’t want to be that far from the kids.🇨🇦
Agree completely that the way of life is very appealing, but it is a long long way from Canada. As soon as we arrive we can feel the stress leaving and are able to relax instantly. Even when things get chaotic, somehow they just don’t seem as stressful!
when u took the windows off i thought u gonna chuck them in the bin........but u made em look brand new......500 quid swimming pool!! ill make one of those next summer im dead ass.....ill pop one day for a greek coffee ill say hey im a subscriber! let me in lol..... i live on the mainland just across zante everytime i want to go to uk i always get a cheap flight from zante
Thank Alex! Yes, trying to reuse and restore as much as possible in the house to keep its character in tact as much as possible. We aren’t there full time but you are more than welcome to come for a coffee when our paths cross. Thanks for the kind words!
Hello there! Congratulations to 1 k subscribers! You have a lovely little account! I have a question. Do you have any plans for the fence surrounding the garden? Your little house is starting to look really lovely but the fence isn´t really matching. It looks a bit industrial (NB my opinion only :-) The metal netting doesn´t seem to provide much privacy. Maybe you could use existing metal poles and build a wooden fence? Hugs to you from Sweden, the land of picket fences ;-D
Hi! Thank you so much for watching. And that is an excellent question. We are not 100% sure what to do. The fence isn’t pretty but we like the fact that we can see straight through it to the beautiful olive groves. What do you think would be a good solution? Thank you again 💙
@@SavingSweetWilliam Hello again! Maybe some Nerium oleander along the fence could be nice? And/or some climbing Bougainvillea? Then you wouldn´t have to replace the less beautiful but fully functioning fence 🙂.
That is a fantastic idea. I think that would look lovely and would hide the metal well. Worried about having any type of wooden fence as really don’t want to lose that view. Appreciate your input and ideas 🙏
@@SavingSweetWilliam What ever fence you decide to go with, keep it as open and clear as possible. Snakes like to hide in those places. Trust me, I know.
❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Congratulations 🎊
Thank you 😊🙏💙

We’d have never even thought about that so thanks for the advice! Appreciate it very much. 🙏
